Stacked stone and hand hewn beamed mountain home located on pristine Lake Nantahala with crystal clear water and gorgeous views. Lake Nantahala is mostly surrounded by National Forest with great fishing, boating, and adventures for water enthusiast. White water rafting on the adjacent Nantahala river as well as Appalachian Trail hiking. Make this your summer vacation home each year for your family and friends. Home has large great room w adjacent dining for 12 comfortably and kitchen w built in fridge/ice maker along w addit’l ice machine, utensils, dishwasher and 5 star gas range. Generous sleeping accommodations for 14 w/ 4 baths including washer/dryer. Bonus w/bath for addt'l fee sleeps 4 more. Each master has king bed with bath/shower. Main floor master has clawfoot tub. Loft w Library. Wi-fi, 60' Screen w THX Surround, Dir TV. Screen porch w ext fireplace. Gas grill on porch adjacent kitchen overlooking lake. Landscaped path w only 10 steps leading to private dock.
We have been blessed beyond measure to experience this beautiful setting and would love for others to have the same experience. Each bed was personally hand-crafted as well as many of the other touches in the home. We have found it to be a serene place to get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. It is always 10 degrees cooler up there than anywhere else - especially Hotlanta!
We are moments away from the Bartram Hiking Trail and Applachian Trail at Wayah Bald. There is a nearby public shooting range near Wayah Bald as well. Lakes End Grill is open peak season for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can drive your boat from our private dock to the restaurant and pull into a slip to eat! The Lakes End Marina rents boats and tubes etc.
Nantahala River Outdoor Center is straight down Wayah Road to US 74. You can have tons of rafting fun for the whole family! Andrews,Murphy,Franklin,Highlands and Asheville are all between 20-90 minutes from our home.

The amenities and spectacular view helped create memories that we will cherish and look forward to sharing with others. The seclusion of this beautiful home helped us to connect has a family. I would recommend this beautiful piece of heaven on earth to anyone wishing for a relaxing but fun-filled getaway. We enjoyed fishing from the deck, the beautiful view, and renting a pontoon boat. The pictures they use to advertise are beautiful but this home is even more stunning in person, what attention to details this house has! The owners were extremely easy to work with and accommodating. The house has everything you would need for your stay. The information received before our arrival was very helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

After a decade of renting large vacation properties at least four times a year, this property is by far both the nicest property my large family has ever stayed in, and the best value for the dollar. Incredible designer extras abound. To call Lake Nantahala pristine is an understatement - it is the highest lake east of the Rockies, and has virtually no sources of contamination. We loved playing in the waterfalls. Great for families with children of all ages. Excellent flatwater and whitewater (recommend NOC) sports are readily available to boaters, and the owners Cindy and Tom are some of the nicest and most helpful people with whom I've ever done business. Rent the boat the owners recommend - you will enjoy the lake immensely! Zip lining (Wildwater) was fun, too. Also recommend the Spa at Fontana Lake. Best massage ever.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We stayed at Lakehaven in late October with a group from church, and we could not have asked for a more perfect getaway place! The surrounding mountains and lake are gorgeous with some breathtaking views nearby. The home was absolutely beautiful, no photo could completely capture it. The owners were extremely helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for our stay (directions, info on places to eat and hike nearby, etc.). If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is it! You will not want to leave! Whether you just want to relax at the house by the fire, or venture out on the Appalachian Trail, I would absolutely recommend staying at Lakehaven.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a beautiful home! More space than we knew what to do with! Beautifully built and decorated, our kids refered to it as a castle, and loved the beds hanging by chains in the "treehouse bedroom". I think the favorite of the grown ups was the swing in the great room, and the beautiful fireplace in the screened in porch.This gorgeous home is peacefully tucked into the mountains on beautiful Lake Nantahala, where we found fishing plentiful.The owners were very helpful and sincerely cared about our stay.Not only did they include helpful area information, but happily answered any questions we had before arriving. During our stay, we hiked to nearby waterfalls, we rafted on the Nantahala river, and rode horses through the mountains.But at the end of the day we could not wait to return to LAKEHAVEN! Do not pass this rental, you will never regret your stay! This house is one of a kind! Pics are beautiful,but can not convey the beauty and magnificent craftmenship in this home.Not a single detail was overlooked!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We made the trip from Raleigh to Lakehaven for a weekend getaway with some friends. The home was a perfect size for our group and the home had plenty of things for our group to do. It was also very close to whitewater rafting adventures. The lake was beautiful, the grounds well kept, the home clean and smartly decorated. We wish we could have stayed a week or a month instead of a quick weekend. Would love to visit again!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

This is a beautiful house on a gorgeous lake. The owners are so kind and helpful. The kids had such a great time jumping off the dock, tubing and fishing. Rafting on nanatahala river is only 15 minutes away and nanatahala gorge is beautiful. The house is so comfortable, beautiful and spacious for multipule families. We hope to return each summer and fall.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
