  House was spacious and everything was in good working order. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, silverware, etc. There were plenty of towels available. Very convenient to have a washer and dryer, dishwasher, and fridge with icemaker. Owner was very helpful and pleasant to work with. View from the deck was spectacular! We slept 10 adults very comfortably. The climb down to the lake was very steep, and the driveway was more steep than expected. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

The walk down the Lake is steep but you do have the stairs, most Homes on Lake Whitney are Bluff-view and you cannot walk down. The road is steep, but there is a circular drive way so you do not have to back out.we also enjoyed working with you and hope you come back again sometimes. Thanks, Barbara

  I have hosted my family gathering at this house every year for the past 5 years. Kids and adults simply love this house. The living space is large enough for everyone to have plenty of room to spread out, lots of nooks and crannies and places people to sit and visit; then there is the also the wonderful outside and decks. The kitchen is fully equipped which makes it so much easier for me since I do most of the cooking. The large dining table is conducive for puzzles and games, there is always someone playing there. The view is beautiful and peaceful, having the lake is an additional activity, close enough to enjoy but far enough that the children are safe. Barbara is delightful to work with and we thank her for sharing this house with us.

I Love the View Of Lake Whitney more that anything, its so Relaxing just to sit and watch the water.Lake Whitney is a well kept Secret with all it's Natural Beauty, but it's getting more well known than we probably want. I hear there is going to be a Wedding Chapel being built on the Lake so if you have anyone wanting to get married in your Family keep that in mind in the Future.Just think you can ride up in your Boat to the Wedding and they could Sail Away in there Ship!   I rented this home for a four-generation New Years reunion (ages ranging from 9 months to 87). We stayed three nights. The home was clean, homey, and the given instructions were easy to follow. I found the owner responsive and easy to work with. We had a great time! We had four family units and I would agree with earlier reviewers who pointed out that this really isn't a five bedroom home. It is three bedrooms with a porch that closes off with doors but that has windows with no curtains, therefore no privacy. There is also a bed off the kitchen with no walls therefore no privacy. Our fourth unit, a family of four, was good-natured about it and since we all went to bed early the uncovered windows weren't really a problem. The kitchen was well-equipped. The center of the house has a large table where we spent hours having a lot of fun playing games (we brought our own). The weather wasn't conducive to being outside much; we'd like to return and enjoy the house when we could be outside more. The private beach looked like it could be a lot of fun.

It is difficutt to accomadate that many adults, some of the Beds were more suitable for Children unless you like roughing it a little. You will be Happy to Know we are converting the Bedroom back to its original structure and it was a Bedroom orignally, but I like Open Airy Places like most people do, but some do like the Privacy I do understand,We are putting blinds that will open and close so that it will not block the View of Lake Whitney in the Sun Room Bedroom per your Suggestion!   The home is beautiful with a view of Lake Whitney, and the owner was so patient and helpful as I coordinated a visit for 4 couples and our combined 11 kids. It is important for anyone who is frail in any way, has weight or health problems, or very young kids, to know that the walk from house to the lake is EXTREMELY steep. 2 of our younger kids couldn't make it without a adult, and one adult with back problems had a hard time. The house DOES sleep 15-18 (as stated), but I do not consider it a 5(4) bedroom house. It is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2 living area home with a L-shaped nook. The 2 living areas/nook have daybeds/couches/extra room for sleeping. So 15-18 is definitely doable. In our case, tho - 4 couples needed closing doors and privacy away from kids. All 4 couples could take a private room with a door - but that left kids in one living space/nook (which the kids loved). One couple slept with privacy but had to walk past/over kids to the bathroom/kitchen (waking the kids). If you need a FANTASTIC home with boat/lake access and fantastic deck - it is perfect. If you need more than 3 private bedrooms/baths so you can separate from kids and have adult time, the configuration might not be the best for you. When we next visit Lake Whitney, if we have just 3 couples - no question we'd want to stay in the house again. The owner was correct in saying - AT&T works semi-okay; Sprint did not; the home Wifi reception was spotty. It is a lovely home, tho - with those considerations. Thank you so much!!

  Owner response: I did not realize you were having that many people "19", but that would be difficult in most Homes to have privacy for all. We do have Steps with Railing to walk down to the Lake for the people that are unsteady. I understand it had rain when you were there, I'm sure that made it more difficult for some. The Landscaper said he did not get the Hill cleared and mowed because it started raining on him. The Rough Terrain and the Natural Limestone Rocks is the Beauty of Lake Whitney and what we all Love about it! I had a guest that was over 80 that her Son was concern about her getting down to the water and when I asked him how she did, he said she went down with some help and enjoyed herself very much watching the kids play and swim in the Cove. Maybe next time the weather will be better for you & you will not be cooped up with all the kids. Please give us a 2nd chance. Thanks, Barbara

  Great home and great location. Beautiful view of the lake. Cove was wonderful we were able to float all weekend. Owner was great when we needed to add pets at the last minute. Home was clean and we had everything we needed all ready there except for our food. Would definitely stay there again.

  Our extended family of 13 enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. We felt "at home" and enjoyed the lake, the wonderful deck and fenced in yard for our little ones. We had plenty of room for everyone in the house. We took full advantage of the kitchen and had fun cooking our meals for the whole family. The water at Lake Whitney is so clear and we enjoyed using our kayaks in the cove--the guys just carried it down the steps and we all had a blast! We also went to a sandy swimming beach just a very short distance away and had a great time there also. Everything we needed was right there in this wonderful retreat. And our doggies were happy also. We enjoyed our stay--Barbara is so easy to talk with and gave us good information, etc. We will be back! Thank you to Barbara for her hospitality!

  We usually spend a weekend at Lake Whitney every summer, but this was the BEST place we have ever rented. We have five kids and six adults, and the house was just perfect for us! We had two dogs with us also. There was plenty of room for everyone. We tied up the boat in the cove below the stairs! It was so convenient. The deck was great, and the house was just as the pictures described it. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a great getaway!

  Our family trip was so much fun and staying at your property was wonderful as usual! The lake was at the highest level in the 4 years we've been going there, although our kids' favorite "jumping spot" was under water too! House looked great; everything was just wonderful. We definitely love staying at this location and having such a nice cove to swim in! We would definitely recommend this property to others! The house and lake are so enjoyable! And the owner is always a pleasure to work with and very responsive to my inquiries. Thanks for the great family memories!

  House is exactly as advertised. I would defnately reccomend this to anyone. Had a great time, plenty of room, close to lake. Had a wonderful experience. I would definately go back again.
