  This was our second visit to Villa Tranquila. It is very comfortable, clean and in a great location. The new paved road in West End is a big improvement. We had a problem with the fan and they sent someone to fix it within a day. The diving remains awesome. The new internet router worked great. I hope to go back-love the sunsets. There are a lot of steps so I wouldn't recommend for someone with limited mobility.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  Absolutely loved Villa Tranquila, it was home away from home. The location, neighbours, where just what we wanted. Close to West End but still had quiet time. The Villa was stocked with lots of towels, kitchen with all utensils needed, washer/dryer which came in handy, (less to pack). The pool only steps away from the door, the view --what can i say... Can't wait to come back.

  After too many vacationless years, my wife and I spent 11 wonderful days at Villa Tranquilla. As others have noted, the condo is spotless, spacious, tastefully decorated and has every amenity one could want. The owners' information guide was very well thought out and useful. Also, the local property management team at RoatanLife were "on the spot" to attend to everything from airport transportation, greeting us at the condo to acquaint us with the unit, set us up with cell/internet service, and arrange any activities we were interested in throughout our stay. For example, they sent a local chef to prepare and serve a delightful anniversary dinner in our condo, sent a driver to take us the South Shore Canopy zip line tour, arranged a tee time at the Black Pearl (Pete Dye designed course at Pristine Bay), and had a rental car delivered to our door that we turned in at the airport a few days later. And all of this at no more cost than making your own arrangements and most activities can be billed on a single invoice at the end of your stay. Totally convenient! From our time in the West End we doubt there is a better place to stay. Villa Tranquilla is tops in location, amenities, cleanliness, and local hospitality. We initially went to Roatan to get away and rest. We will go back again because we loved Villa Tranquilla!

  7-night stay in early December 2012. My seventh visit to Roatan. I've stayed a lot of different places -- houses, hotels, this condo -- and this place is well worth it. Clean. Spacious. Comfortable. Very short walk to West End yet still quiet. 24-hour security. Private pool out the front door. Plenty of linens and towels. Full-service kitchen furnished more nicely than my own. Grill 30 feet from the kitchen. Washer / dryer in the unit is a huge plus -- I packed for the whole week in a bag that fit under the seat in front of me on the plane...Including my laptop! (It was an entirely reasonably small amount of extra $$$ for wireless service.) Was it perfect? No...What is? A backup generator for the complex would be nice since the power also controls the water and the power does go out on the island sporadically. After 7 nights, though, that's the worst thing I can come up with to say about it. The reality is, you're probably not gonna do a whole lot better on Roatan...And nowhere in West End that I've been. Would I stay there again? Absolutely.

Duration and instances of outages are much less than in the past as the island power company has modernized. The high cost of island electricity that relies on giant diesel generators has been a work in progress and is a part of the island life.

  We so enjoyed our stay in Roatan at Villa Tranquilla. The information sent by the owner to orient us to the location was invaluable. So many good tips and suggestions. We were advised to have the taxi driver stop on the way from the airport at the large market. He did indeed stop and also phoned his wife to join us and give us an assist in making our selections. They were both so very sweet and kind. They and the property manager helped us settle in and so within minutes of our arrival at the condo our very relaxing vacation began. All the folks we encountered on the West End of the island were so very nice and accomodating.. Lovely people live there. Our accomodations were very comfortable and the pool very large and inviting. The location of the condo was perfect. I highly recommend your staying at this address so that you can best experience this wonderful piece of paradise called Roatan.

  All the amenities necessary for a wonderful, comfortable vacation. The location is excellent and the pool just out the front door and down the steps was so very inviting. We spent our afternoons there relaxing after our morning dives of the spectacular Roatan reefs. We loved everything about our home away from home in Roatan.

  This condo is West End is perfect especially for a Dive Vacation. It is clean, very comfortable and stocked with everything you need. I couldn't believe how cool it was during day just using ceiling fans. The pool area is very nice and quiet. You can walk to West End and most dive shops (there are many) within 10 minutes. I needed to connect to my job and was able to use the owner's Tigo Stick for an extra fee which worked great for basic email and skype connextions. It is on my list of places to go return to some day.

  From the moment we booked our trip to Roatan until the end we loved our experience and stay at Villa Tranquilla. The condo exceeded our expectations and had everything we needed to be comfortable and felt just like home. An abundance of clean towels and sheets were provided along with a fully stocked kitchen. The condo is delightfully decorated and just a short walk from all the West End dive shops, resturants and stores. Very quiet and peaceful. Relaxing by the pool was a nice way to spend the afternoon after a morning of diving. The owner and property manager were fantastic to work with. I highly recommend this property.

  villa tranquila is aptly named. set in a perfect location away from the hubbub of the local bars, but only a very short walk along the beach to the main West End area. beautiful view of the ocean from the terrace, where we enjoyed sitting each morning for breakfast. the condo is a real home from home with every mod com you could want for a comfortable stay, clean and comfortable beds and lounge area. the swimming pool is very inviting, or if you prefer there are plenty of loungers to relax on. this was our 9th visit to roatan and villa tranquila takes our vote for accommodation.

  Linda was incredibly helpful in planning our first visit to Roatan with my family, including two young daughters. The condo was perfect and comfortable, it had all the ammenities we are used too. The condo is walking distance to the main strip of the West End, we didn't have a car and we never felt we needed one. The staff at Roatan Life, our local contact and property managers, were helpful and easy to work with. Linda gave us a great list of helpful hints, great restaurants, dive shop recommendations, and the best places to get food, fish and produce. It was a fabulous vacation and I would highly recommend this property.

  This was the perfect place to spend our honeymoon, it was romantic, adventurous, and beautiful. we could enjoy the pool and the property as well as many of the comforts of home, the dive shops, places to eat, and tourist activities are all minuets away. This was an amazing opportunity to see a different part of the world!

  My husband and I had an amazing time while spending out honeymoon in Roatan! The condo was perfect, we were able to have our own romantic time alone as well as easily access the great night life! It was great to have all the comforts of home (washing machine, air conditioning, television, BBQ, etc.), have the pool right off of the porch, and an amazing view of the ocean! The small market at the end of the road was perfect for picking up little odds and ends and the management were more than helpful; they even helped us arrange our 'Swim with the Dolphins' including the taxi ride to and from! The dive shop that was recommended (Reef Gliders) was amazing. The staff were kind, knowledgable, and more helpful than we could have hoped for. We felt very safe in their hands. We were given a list of 'great places to try' and places 'best to avoid' and we found it to be helpful and accurate!! The rooms in the condo were a great size, as were the bathrooms. There was ample storage for our luggage and equipment and the furniture was very comfortable! When we arrived we were greeted by the management and shown around the condo and instructed on how to operate everything and given an overview of the area and were able to ask lots of questions. We cannot say enough great things about our stay and are so glad we spent out first weeks as husband and wife in this beautiful paradise! We can't wait to come back and stay again!

  This condo is a perfectly placed center for the Island of Roatan. It has a easy walk to West End where you can find music, restaurants, shops, small grocery stores and gas if needed. The view is beautiful and everything you need is in the condo for ease of cooking and traveling the island. The owner and management team is extremely helpful and will be happy to address any questions. The condo itself is very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. I found that all the restaurants were very good. It is worth trying them all. Security and safety are really nice at this condo and you can count on things staying safe when you leave with all the doors locked. I am definately staying here again.

  My husband and I just returned to the states after staying 12 nights in this outstanding condo. We loved Roatan and we loved our accomodations. The property was clean, well maintained and extremely comfortable. We were extremely satisfied with the comfort of the beds and the overall comfort of the home. We felt like we were home after a busy day snorkeling, zip lining, or from many of the other fun activities we experenced in Roatan. This condo is perfect because it is a quick walk to town where you can get just about anything you can imagine to eat and you can also grab a water taxi from town to West Bay just a short ride away to being right there on the reef for snorkeling. The location in my mind is the best because in a hop skip you are right where all the action is, but you can come home to this beautiful condo to peace and comfort. This is our thrid booking with VRBO. We have always been happy but this is the best! The owners were extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to make our vacation the very best it could be. You won't be disappointed. Have fun!
