We stayed at the little house for three nights. It is so quaint and in such a great location for walking around the beautiful city of Savannah. We found the back patio to be very enjoyable in the mornings and late afternoons on these sunny days. Once you get to Savannah and see all of the historic homes around you, it is absolutely fantastic to get to stay in one of them. We absolutely were delighted with the house. Plenty comfortable and so much better (and less expensive) than a hotel room. We highly recommend it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you, Debbie. It's so nice to hear that you enjoyed your trip and I hope to have you back again!

Our goal was to visit Savannah and experience it by staying in a house instead of getting a hotel room, plus stay in the HIstoric District so we could walk. We landed at this one by some stroke of luck. The pictures do not do it justice. It was everything we wanted. It had charm, was historic, was sparkling clean and was located one block from Broughton Street on which we found tons of shops and restaurants. We found a Mexican place nearby, Juarez, that was really casual and had good food and margaritas. We also loved Leopold's ice cream which is very close to the cottage. We never moved our car. Everything in the house was updated beautifully. We will stay here again because I highly doubt we could recreate this experience without spending twice as much somewhere else! I felt like I had known the owner forever after talking to her on the phone about our reservation. She is so nice!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I (along with our two small dogs) throroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is wonderful and the house is adorable. Liberty was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process. The photographs are very accurate. I definitely recommend this lovely home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

When we read the reviews we thought we found a gem. The only positive I could think of is the location. Walking distance to the River Walk. But the interior is depressing. We expected old, but not dreary. Upon entering, you walk into the living room. Very drab, no color, could use some pictures or paintings to welcome you. On one wall there are two windows facing the next door neighbor. No shades or drapes on the windows, you feel fully exposed. There is a TV in this room, but no instructions for its use. I called the owner and was told how to use it. Alas! No local channels, only a system to view Netflix. Then you walk into the "kitchen". It was adequate., but had a musty odor. A two burner stove, undercounter refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and washer and dryer. The dryer was full with linens and a note stated " please do not remove linens from the dryer". Upon emptying our cooler we spilled some water. My wife wiped the spill with paper towels and they were black from the floor that was dirty. There is no table in the house. if you want to have coffee and toast or a snack then sit on the unconfortable love seat and hold them in your lap. Now, to get to the upstairs bedroom, you have to climb very steep steps. In fact, there is a sign at the top of the steps informing you to go down backwards. There actually is no ceiling in the bedroom. The walls come down at a sharp angle and you will most assuredly bump your head while walking around. The back yard is really bad. Leaves, twigs and small branches are all over. A table and two chairs are there, but I wouldn't sit amongst the debris. Never again!Owner response: Photos on the listing portray this home very accurately. The bedroom peaked ceiling should have been no surprise. The home’s décor is neutral, relaxing hues. One might expect “the smallest house in Savannah” to have a kitchen whose size is commensurate with that appellation. It is, however, well-appointed and easy to work in. There is a trunk/coffee table upon which to set one’s coffee cup and a murphy table on the wall in the kitchen where one might have one’s toast. As stated there is a television but nowhere does the VRBO listing mention cable. Instead, you have an opportunity to stream the latest movies. Instructions for the tv and all other appliances are on the premises, easily accessible. I appreciate knowing about the linens and floor and will take these issues up with the cleaning company. As for the patio: the season you visited was Fall. Leaves fall all day long this time of year so the leaves were swept the morning before you checked in that still does not insure a leafless patio. Your complaints (except for cleaning) are matters of taste, issues that were easily discernible by looking at photos and reading the description on the VRBO listing before booking the property. You DID find a gem. Alas! You did not realize it.

We had so been looking forward to another visit to beautiful Savannah, and to staying in the smallest house in town. Liberty, the owner, was pleasant and easy to deal with in making our reservation and in confirming our check-in time. We knew where the house was located from other trips to Savannah -- and the location couldn't be better. It's a quiet street on a lovely square, walking distance to everything. Parking was easy too. When we opened the door of the house, however, we were instantly disappointed. Not from the size, but from the lack of charm and amenities. The main room is cold and uninviting. The furniture ugly and uncomfortable. No effort made to introduce colour, art or comfort into the space at all. Upstairs (which is rather precariously reached by climbing what can only be described as a ladder, not a staircase .... infirm renters beware) is the same. A double bed where there is room for a Queen with some creative boxspring cutting), no scatter rugs, no art work, barely adequate lighting and the window did not open. You are wisely instructed to come down the "stairs" backwards on descent and that is kind of fun, but again, would have been a nightmare for someone with mobility issues. The wooden floors are stunning and kitchen and bathroom are ok but the house smelt stuffy and unwelcoming. The TV set up is weird with no instructions about how to get a normal TV channel instead of web-recorded programmes. With the Ryder Cup on we weren't even able to find a score. The courtyard is cute and very private but again no attention to aesthetics at all in terms of flowers, potted plants, a fountain or welcoming outdoor furniture. It also would have been great to have a printed sheet with the history of the house, that would have added somoe interest to the stay. All in all the price was pretty reasonable for the accomodation as Savannah can be pricey, but I would happily have paid a bit more to feel I was truly on holiday in what should be not only the smallest house in town, but the cutest too.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners.
Owner response: So few people are disappointed with the house that I am surprised at this response. The pictures most definitely depict the house furnishings and the stairs. There are alternative sleeping arrangements downstairs. The house is equipped with a smart tv so anything on the internet ie The Ryder Cup can be viewed on the tv via the internet. So sorry you did not enjoy your trip to Savannah. So few people get the opportunity to stay in a truly important historic home. And also, there is a book about the house on the mantel and can be picked up in any bookstore. The book is called "savannah's Little Crooked Houses". The house as good enough for the 2012 Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens and the most successful book signing ever for the author.

My fiance and I recently stayed in this adorable little red house for a friend's wedding weekend. It was the perfect place to enjoy a fun and relaxed Savannah weekend. We were able to walk everywhere, and really enjoyed coming back to quiet Greene square to relax. The house was cozy, the kitchen was great, and the bed was super comfortable -- we slept like babies! We also enjoyed waving to the trolleys as they came by on historic tours. Liberty was also extremely communicative and helpful -- thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Great long weekend getaway. The house is in the historic district but far enough from the center with all the bars and traffic. Only a few blocks from River Street on a quiet residential street. Parking is free after 5 on fridays and all weekend. Playing musical cars is fun though on street sweeping days. Watch those signs unless you want a ticket! The house is very clean and has absolutely everything you would need for your stay including a full kitchen and washer and dryer. Liberty was a pleasure to work with, she answered questions and emails promptly. Will definately be back. P.S. The older gentleman that lives next door in the Old Sea Captains house is a delight!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We cannot possibly leave a review that accurately describes how wonderful the Tiny Red House is. It has a lovely kitchen, a great bathroom, a comfy living room and a nice, romantic bedroom. The courtyard is quiet and green, and the front yard is steps from a beautiful square. We loved everything about our stay, and the owner was incredibly helpful and responsive. This little house is perfectly located near everthing you could want to do in Savannah. It is a must see.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We spent three lovely nights in the "smallest" house in Savannah which proved to be our best trip yet! The house is adorable and the fenced in courtyard is the perfect place to relax while your dogs sniff around. The location is just two blocks from River Street and all the other atttactions. We parked our car when we arrived and didnt need it until we left. The house had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and the neighbors were so hospitable! We also found Savannah to be very pet friendly - our boys loved their morning and evening walks. We will definately rent this quaint little house when we return to Savannah!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
