Great place for family trip
Great place for family trip
We had a family trip with our 8 children, their spouses, fiancée, and our grand kids. The place was the perfect combination of family togetherness and privacy. The place was well decorated, well equipped and beyond our expectations. And the view - there are no words to describe it.

We all had a very nice time. The cabin met our needs perfectly. The decks and views are unbelievable! We saw lots of black bears and wild turkeys. It was a nice get away. Thank you so much for making this house available to us.

We had an excellent time.
Yes, we had an excellent time. The cabin was wonderful! The view was amazing and it was centrally located to everything. We were sad the park was closed, but that's not your fault! Thank you again for all you did! We hope to stay there again in the future :)

We had a fantastic time.
Thank you. We had a fantastic time. The cabin was more than we expected. It was nice and relaxing. I must say, though, I have never been that far up in the mountains. After traveling up and down a few times, you get used to it. Everyone liked it and they were very pleased with everything.

Great location, beautiful home, gorgeous view!
Great location, beautiful home, gorgeous view!
Buckhead Lodge was a wonderful venue for our family reunion. The owners were very cooperative, helpful and friendly before, during and after our stay. They took the time to e-mail us the following week after our stay to make sure everything went well. The cabin fit our thirty family members with ease. There's plenty of fun things (pool, arcade games, foosball) for the kids (and adults) to do during downtime, or rainy spells. The animal life comes right up to your doorstep. We got some priceless memories and awesome photos. The location is convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, which are both just minutes away. There was plenty in the area to do. Our group went hiking, ziplining, tubing, and on the Tuckaleechee Cavern tours. We also hit up the shopping in town and visited Ole Smoky Mountain Moonshine for their self guided tour of their distillery and their sampling room. Oh, and a bonus...though you're at the top of the mountain, the local pizza place delivers!!! Sweet! We would definitely stay again!

Bears are a good thing, right? We had a momma and her FOUR cubs stop by the house twice during the week. It was pretty special (to watch from the deck!). This chalet is fantastic! All the amenities and the most breathtaking view of the Smokey's. It was very clean and the owner's were patient and accommodating of our "requests". We had a few hiccups in our arrival and departure and they assisted us graciously. We stayed 4 nights, and the proximity to all things Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is perfect. You can escape the chaos of the traffic and tourism, access the 3 Owners Club pools, and quickly get to a truck load of adventure! Highly recommend!

About the owner: Here we are working hard so you don't have to. :) We hope you enjoy this cabin. This cabin has a history and was once named How Great Thou Art by the wonderul Mr. and Mrs. Hanerd who are still in the area and are some of the nicest people. I hope we make them proud. Additionally, the cabin also was represented under the name Wapiti Lodge which was later used as a wedding location for some beautiful weddings. We like to think we have allowed the cabin to evolve like the families who were married here. Perhaps now they have children of their own and would like to come back and visit the cabin where they wed with their families, friends and children. We hope you enjoy the views, the cabin and the memories you'll make at Buckhead Lodge. We hope once you come here you'll want to visit more.
Why the Owner Chose Chalet Village:
We chose Gatlinburg over several other locations because of the year round FUN that is here! Skiing in Winter, hiking in Spring, swimming and Dollywood in Summer and the magnificent foliage in Fall.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
This cabin's location circumvents the downtown traffic in Gatlinburg but you can be in the 'thick of things' within minutes! Within minutes from Buckhead Lodge, you can be at the Aquarium in the Smokies, the National Forest, Dollywood, shops and restaurants. It really is centrally located and easy access from the Smoky Mountain National Forest Visitors Center at Wiley Oakley Drive. We hope you enjoy the peacefulness and serenity of this cabin with your loved ones!
