Owner response: Thanks so much
This is an excellent property set back slightly from the main town and beach, but close enough to enjoy a short cycle with the family. The property was extremely clean and tidy, well temperature-regulated with all bedrooms having fantastically comfortably beds! We would be a fussy family and the property met all our expectations. Saving again for next year!

A Family Gathering at Siesta Key
A Family Gathering at Siesta Key
My wife and I, and my daughter and her husband all stayed about a week and a half in April, and our experience in visiting this home was outstanding ... it was everything that it appeared to be on the internet and in communications with the owner. In particular, our stay was marked by peacefulness, with no traffic noise, boisterous people or other distractions. The home itself was spacious, well-maintained, very comfortable, quiet and well-equipped, and located in a nice, neat neighborhood with low traffic. The pool and pool area were also outstanding: spacious, clean and well-maintained with plenty of furniture available. We expect to visit here again. We've stayed at other luxury vacation homes in the past in various parts of the country, and this one has been the best yet overall in our experience. Finally, our dealings with the owner were likewise wonderful. He was consistently kind, helpful and prompt in responding to all our questions and needs, and was very easy to work with. Everything turned out to be a delight for the four of us. Thanks!

We stayed here last year and are hoping to stop again next year. I said at the time that you could turn up here with your groceries and not have to go anywhere else. We loved it and our daughter was never out of the pool. Definitely worth the journey. A home from home of the highest standard.

Lynne says: We stayed here for five days this September and John and his wife could not have been more helpful. The villa is decorated to a very high standard and feels like a 2nd home rather than a holiday villa. For a lovely break away from the bustle of Orlando you can go down to the beach, just a few minutes drive or hire a kayake and see the in shore rivers and widelife

Extremely nice property
Extremely nice property
As soon as we pulled into Siesta Key Woods drive we knew we'd chosen a lovely place. Walking up to and thru the front door into the great room confirmed it. The kitchen and living room area (great room) was wonderful! It was especially nice to leave the doors open to the covered pool area which made an already large space feel that much larger. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utencils and everything was in good working order. Off the great room was a large master bedroom/bath combo with his and her closets. The bath provided a very nice large tiled shower and cozy jacuzzi tub. The pool area was very nice however due to the cool weather during the week we were there, the pool water never got warmer than 62 degrees. Even though we did not get in the water we enjoyed sitting in the sun, reading and having a meal or two out there. Our guests that came later in the week enjoyed one of the other bedrooms and bath and again the great room was a great space to cook and mingle together. During our time we biked (the house offers 4 bikes for use) to Siesta Key Village and our guests biked all the way down to Turtle beach. Siesta beach was beautiful and the sunsets spectacular. The house offered some beach chairs and an umbrella to use as well. We visited Mote Aquarium and Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota both great places to go and only a short drive. St. Armands Circle also a beautiful location on Lido Key offers high end shopping with many unique finds. We also enjoyed an upscale Art Festival there. Plenty of good food/drink to be found on the island, lots of friendly people and a very laid back atmosphere. Groceries are available in Siesta Village but the most complete store was right after you come over south bridge. Our guests were Gluten intolerant and it was fairly easy to find a Natural Grocery and Gluten free bakery prior to coming over south bridge to the key. Lastly the owners of the home were very nice to deal with. Very communicative from the start, all the way through and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this home to any adults wanting a beautiful, quiet place to stay in a beautiful location.

We were delighted with our stay in this property. It is very clean and beautifully furnished. We enjoy eating in and found the kitchen lacked nothing. We found it very difficult to tear ourselves away from the pool which is solar heated and screened .The house has bikes and fishing rods that you can use. It also has deck chairs for the beach and pool toys which would be great for families. The house is even nicer than it looks in the photographs and John made the booking process very easy. We cant wait to go back and would recommend it for a totally relaxing and luxurious vacation

This really is an outstanding vacation home. The photographs do not do the home justice - a very comfortable home, minutes from Siesta Beach - with a fantastic solar heated, fully screened pool. The home is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, which is very quiet with no traffic noise at all. When we visited, the neighbourhood was very quiet - so we found the time by the pool to be extremely relaxing. The home comfortably slept our party of 5, the living space is very comfortable and spacious - much better than renting a condo. We found lots of added benefits when we arrived - such as: - bikes for leisurely trips into the village to visit the market, bars or restaurants. We explored the key on the bikes, and even took a longer trip to nearby St Armands Circle, a great way to take in the fantastic coastal scenery. - fishing equipment which we used at the many nearby popular fishing spots (point of rocks, Siesta Bridge, etc.) - Cable TV in both the living room and master bed room, great for chilling out on the few evenings we decided to stay in. - High speed WiFi internet - we managed to keep work ticking over while relaxing, and research local attractions and looking up restaurant and bar reviews - and looking up local stores for everything we needed - a really helpful time saving service. - Fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities - which we tried to avoid using on our trip. - Plenty of parking - garage, driveway and street. - Central AC and ceiling fans throughout kept the home very cool. Recommendations for other visitors: Suggest you visit Ana Marie Island, Longboat Key, Ringling Museum and Myakka River State Park. Hillview village has great shops, Sam Sneads tavern, Libby's restaurant and Morton's deli market (the best steaks and bakery). The village has lots of little beach shops, a market and tiki bars and restaurants. The Siesta Beach is a huge public white sand beach (take a look on google maps). The local supermarket chain (Publix) is also excellent. Other points: Although the home is a ranch style, wheelchair users need to be aware there are a few steps to gain access through the double front doors, or through the integrated garage. Also the bathrooms are not prepared for wheelchair users. You will not regret renting this home for a great vacation.

About the owner: We are John and Jane Chandler we live in Nottingham, United Kingdom. We love the winter sunshine and somewhere that's a real functioning home to relax in and unwind.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We purchased Goldeneye as it ticked all the boxes. It has great entertaining space. French doors out on to the pool and deck and spacious cathedral ceilings. We also like the fact that it is located on a residential area and we have great neighbours. The house is surrounded by tropical gardens just like a plantation house and is very private and not overlooked, which is great when out on the deck reading, eating and swimming.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Very private location minutes to Siesta beaches, heated private pool with sun that rises in the morning and stays over the pool and deck all day long, real American neighbourhood
