WELCOME!
Spectacular views, privacy, and luxury define Rock Haven Cabin, which sits on 5 acres adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park. This eco friendly guest house has been newly renovated to create an atmosphere of exceptional comfort, beauty and serenity. The cabin is fully powered by solar energy and the newly installed water catchment system helps to water our native plantings.
This is a perfect place to unplug. You can soak in the private spa while stargazing, curl up with a good book on the patio with a sweeping view of the Park, or cook a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen.
For the adventuresome, you can hike into the park from the cabin, or if you want to explore it more fully, drive to the West Entrance, a half mile away. The park is renowned for its world class rock climbing. It also offers excellent hiking with hundreds of trails ranging from easy nature walks to strenuous mountain hikes. You can also expect to see local wildlife right from the front porch, and our Joshua Tree night skies are famous for their extraordinary star gazing.
The local area has plenty for you to discover in addition to the beauty of the national park. The village of Joshua Tree is a short drive from the cabin, where you can check out the Park Visitor Center, explore a variety of gift shops and art galleries or hunt for treasures at local thrift stores. There are several good restaurants, a gourmet food store, two health food stores, and a Saturday Farmers' Market. Joshua Tree also has an excellent yoga studio with a full schedule of classes.
The Joshua Tree art scene is vital and eclectic with regular gallery openings and nearly 200 artists living in the area. There is an Open Studio Tour each fall, and many artists welcome visitors at other times by appointment. Live music can be heard almost any day of the week at Pappy and Harriets in Pioneertown, and Joshua Tree holds annual music festivals in the spring and fall. There are also three live theater venues with a variety of interesting offerings.
There is something very special about the peace and spaciousness of the desert, and regardless of the time of year, Rock Haven Cabin offers a wonderful opportunity to relax and unwind in comfort.

I called my week at Rock Haven Cabin the Seven Days of Solitude in a blog I did for my friends and family. My purpose for the week was to enjoy the desert I love so much, while working on writing, reading, thinking, soul searching and meditating. The warm hospitality felt at the cabin and the beauty of the surroundings made this my perfect week. The cabin has such a wonderful ambience and equiped and detailed with everything to make you feel at home. There is even bird seed provided for the multitude of birds that come each morining and evening. The spa/hot tub is amazing and the Dead Sea Salts used made my skin feel so good. It is the perfect spot for star gazing! I have already booked another trip, and anticipate making Rock Haven Cabin a habit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Rock Haven Cabin is the best VBRO get-a-way that we have ever experienced. Beginning with the owners being there at check-in to show us around and explain how to use the hot tub, to pleasant early morning and evening walks into the desert, to hot tubbing at sunrise and sundown, to awaking to the sounds of quail in the morning, to the incredible night sky (with Orion, the Big Dipper, and the Milky Way in plain view), to the cozy comforts inside the cabin. Solar power, eco-friendly products, and a feeling of 'greenness' prevailed. This was a welcoming, wonderful place, with easy access to Joshua Tree National Park. The cabin and the grounds were in impeccable shape, and the owners were just up the road, had we needed anything. For those who have to be tethered, even while on vacation, internet access is available... Rock Haven Cabin should be on everyone's bucket list if Joshua Tree National Park is your vacation destination.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed at the Rockhaven Cabin for 6 nights in February, and this will now be our go-to place when we visit JT in the future. We have visited the area several times and this was by far the nicest place we have stayed. The cabin is perfectly laid out and outfitted with all the amenities that one would need, extremely neat and well-maintained, and with a fantastic view overlooking Joshua Tree Park from the patio and large picture window. My husband loved sitting in the hot-tub and enjoying the view. I loved watching the quail and other birds come to the feeder next to the patio. The cabin is literally a one minute drive from the west entrance to the park but down a private road, so there was no traffic noise and felt very quiet and private. We enjoyed several hikes in park and made numerous trips to Natural Sisters Cafe in the town of Joshua Tree for their wonderful sandwiches, salad and homemade yogurt and granola. We look forward to returning again next year and I have already passed on the information about Rockhaven to some friends who are very interested!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We truly couldn't have been happier with Rock Haven Cabin. We're rock climbers who had never been to Joshua Tree before, and we wanted a place with easy access in & out of the park. The cabin was just what we wanted. It was cozy and private, but had all the necessities (we cooked there every night) -- plus a hot tub for two overlooking the park! Everything was immaculate and obviously very thoughtfully arranged and cared for by the owners (who met us upon arrival just to make sure we had everything we needed). When returning to JTree, we will definitely stay at Rock Haven Cabin again, and I whole-heartedly recommend it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Rather than talk about how perfectly comfortable and charming the accommodations were, and they certainly were, allow me to comment on a more serious matter. Staying in Rock Haven Cabin can turn your life upside down. It will alter your sense of what is normal, and when you come back to your regular life you will be haunted by the knowledge that there is something better waiting for you. You will see stars you had forgotten were there. You will be reminded that the world is not as small as it seems in the city. You will bathe, moment by moment, in a silence that allows you to hear again. The land of Joshua Tree meditates for you, prays for you (just think of those crazy trees). We all become buddhas here. It may sound like an oasis of serenity, and it’s at least that. But Rock Haven Cabin is also a seat of revolution, as true peace always is. Be careful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband surprised me with a weekend in this cabin and a visit to the park. He hit it on the mark, this cabin is a wonderful place to pass your mornings and evenings around a visit to Joshua Tree. The cabin is in a quiet location that looks out on the boundary of the park, and one of the highlights of the cabin was its patio from which we watched the desert wildlife (quail, coyotes, rabbits) in the mornings and evenings, and at night, we just watched the stars while enjoying the outdoor spa tub. It is clear that the owners' take pride in the cabin and maintain it really well, the exterior gravel and landscaping is very orderly, and the interior was extremely clean, the linens were of good quality, and there were thoughtful touches everywhere such as soft throw blankets, comfortable furniture, nice bath products, and flashlights and binoculars for the tenant's use. We just left the cabin today and I've already told my husband that if we go back to Joshua Tree that is where we are staying!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Rock Haven cabin is an ideal get away - in a perfect location for trips to Joshua Tree national park, and incredibly comfortable. It is beautifully furnished, wonderfully secluded, and sitting in the hot tub under the sky, twinkling with so many stars is quite a luxury. We loved watching the the quails from the terrace, whose ridiculous running made us laugh every time, and seeing a coyote from the terrace was another real treat. The cabin and the whole experience is highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We plan to return, we were especially pleased with the large front viewing window. Joshua Tree is a magical place and for us it includes years of memories checking off almost every 5 star climb in the J.T. Climbers Guide Book.. This desert is full of surprises and the cabin was so quiet and pleasant. It also had plenty of hot water and everything needed for a comfortable stay with no hassle. We tucked in,listened to music, hiked, grilled and read when we weren't in the spa....ahh.. Eva,Thankyou for providing such a delightful stay..Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We just returned from a fantastic long weekend at Rock Haven Cabin. The location was perfect: A few minutes from the entrance to the park and 5 minutes from the main drag in Joshua Tree. Eva and Kathy were warm and welcoming- they met us in the driveway on our way in and showed us around, then gave us complete privacy for the rest of our stay. Some highlights included nightly soaks in the hot tub, watching the sun set (and local bunnies!) from the front porch, and lounging in the seriously comfy king bed. This was the perfect spot for a trip for two. We hope to stay again next time we return to the high desert!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

About the owner: We had been coming to Joshua Tree for years, with the thought of eventually moving to this part of the High Desert we had fallen in love with. We were most interested in living in a particular area adjacent to the National Park, however properties in this location hardly ever go on the market. It took some time, but we eventually found what we were dreaming of. We had only been here 4 years when our neighbors mentioned that they were thinking of selling their weekend cabin retreat. We jumped on it, thus reuniting the original 5 acre homestead parcel on which our house sits. Part of our enjoyment is in sharing our love of the desert with family and friends, and by turning Rock Haven Cabin into a vacation rental we are able to share with many others the beauty and serenity of this unique spot.
