We completely enjoyed ourselves May Long weekend! The deck was perfect for lounging in the sun and enjoying outdoor meals. The covered deck ensured our dinner plans were not be ruined by the rain. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors even when the weather wasn’t perfect. The location is great. Close to the hot springs, grocery store and located in a nice quiet little area perfect for evening walks. In the cottage there are 3 bathrooms 2 bedrooms and a third room is set up in the loft. We were 6 adults and everyone felt very comfortable. The back yard is large and fully fenced -perfect for our tiny dog and our little boy. The cottage is very clean and very well stocked. We had such a nice time! Thank you Grace!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Best features of Littlebrooks Cottage: central location, private, inviting and comfortable, great deck! After breakfast in the bright and spacious dining room each morning, we'd get on our bikes and explore the trails around Fairmont. The cottage is just downhill from Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, so it was an easy ride to soak in the hot pools. One day we cycled the scenic Columbia River Road to the lake and explored some great single track on the way back to town. Another day, we cycled down to the wetlands, just two blocks away, then left our bikes and hiked into the wetlands. One morning, we loaded our bikes on the van and did a day-trip to Lussier Hot Springs where we cycled the logging roads before going for a soak in the natural hot springs along the river. If you enjoy exploring, there's so much to do in the valley and Littlebrooks Cottage's central location makes it a great jumping off point for adventure in the Kootenays. The cottage is also located near wilderness with lots of potential for seeing wildlife. One morning, a herd of mule deer came into the back yard and grazed while we took photos from the deck. We saw waterfowl including geese and ducks in the wetlands and were surprised by a great blue heron that flew up as we walked along. We also saw a whole herd of bighorn sheep grazing in a nearby meadow. When we weren't out exploring, we enjoyed the homey, inviting atmosphere of the cottage. It's tastefully decorated and has a well-supplied kitchen with all the pots, pans, dishes and cutlery for entertaining a large family group. There are also some nice small appliances like a grill and small food processor for quick food preparation. The decor sets a relaxing tone with a water-front resort theme, including artwork, river rock fireplace and large candles set in pebble filled trays. The beds are comfortable with quality cottons and down duvets. The three bedrooms are spacious. I especially loved the natural lighting coming from large windows. Finally, the cottage is very clean! (Thanks, Joanne!) Thanks, Grace for sharing your home with us! We really did have a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
