We recently stayed at Dreamcatcher and it was wonderful. It is a perfect location to completely relax. From the private island to the views of the river all was remarkable. The house was well stocked with everything you could think of. Kitchen had everything down to all condiments. The owners Dianne and Alan were very gracious and at first meeting them put you at ease to start enjoying your vacation. Overall the house and location are perfect and our family is booking for next year.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Our family had a fabulous time on this island taking full advantage of all the fun and natural beauty!! We explored the island, kayaked, boated, swam with the manatees and saw a bald eagle, dolphins, a sea otter, osprey chicks, turtles and fish galore! Sunrises and dusk were spectacular and were enjoyed from the various outdoor seating areas. The home was well appointed and very comfortable. The owners, Alan and Dianne, were very helpful and hospitable. It was a fun and relaxing week of "river life"!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Wow!!! It is nice in this day & age to have your high expectations exceeded- mine were with Dreamcatcher!!! I was looking for the perfect one-of-a-kind island experience to surprise my wife with for her 40th birthday & sure got that with this property. The owners, Dianne & Alan, patiently answered tons of my planning-related questions & really got behind my ideas to make this stay magical! Dreamcatcher was immaculate- the owners obviously take great pride in the cleanliness of this vacation home (and I am very picky when it comes this.) We swam with the manatees, fished from the Dreamcatcher pontoon, and totally relaxed in the pool & hot tub. Anyone can book a hotel room- do yourself & your loved ones a favor & CREATE AN EXPERIENCE! My wife says she has wonderful memories of her 40th birthday (and believe me, the big 4-0 was not something she was looking forward to.) I would highly recommend this property!! Go For It!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed at Dreamcatcher in April. We were blown away at this magnificent island. The pictures simply cannot capture the beauty. The house was well stocked and immaculate inside and out. We will most certainly stay again.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Robert and Madeline waxed lyrical about Dreamcatcher each time we met them during their stay, and Madeline coined the phrase of which we are very proud - "On a scale of 1-10 Dreamcatcher was 100!!!" We are thrilled that they relaxed into island time immediately, appreciating the comfort and privacy of the house and all its outside amenities. We look forward to welcoming them back to our oasis on the river at any time! "On a scale of 1-10 they scored 100 as Guests!!" Alan & Dianne, Dreamcatcher Properties.

I didn't want to post a review for this property, the last thing we want is more people finding out about this beautiful, private, getaway. We don't want more competition for our trip next year! The listing was very accurate and the photos were just like the property and even better than we ever expected! The house and property were very clean, spacious and well-maintained. The owners, Dianne and Alan were the best to deal with. They even helped us load our luggage on the boat for the trip to the Island. They answered all our questions and gave us great info about all the local things to see and do. We tried a couple of the restaurants on the river and they were very good, but we did most of the cooking at the house, which is furnished with everything you could need for cooking and barbequing while you lay in the pool or hot tub...we just loved hanging out there. We would recommend this property to good friends and family. It was sooooo comfortable and relaxing. Our main goal was to see and swim with Manatee's. We rented the pontoon boat from Dianne and Allen for the week and were able to find and swim with the Manatee's ourselves without having to get on one of the guided cattle cars. If you enjoy wildlife, we would see dolphins swim by everyday. Several times we were surprised to see otter swimming as well. We can't wait to get back and wake up with a cup of coffee and just stand on the deck in the morning to the beautiful view and listening to the sounds of the wildlife all around us. We enjoyed the floating tiki hut every night with drinks and fishing poles in the water...which came with the property as well. We had a fun time catching fish and watching the local boats go by. Truly, if you can't relax and have fun at this beautiful island, give it up, you won't find it. Thank you Dianne & Alan...hope to see you soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Rick & Donna and friends were perfect Guests, who appreciated the sights and sounds of the river, which changes by the minute on Dreamcatcher. They used the tiki hut to get up close and personal with the wildlife and creatures that pass by the island while enjoying their cocktails and saw others while using the Dreamcatcher pontoon boat. The thrill of sailing on the Homosassa River with dolphins flanking each side of the boat is the stuff that memories are made of, as is swimming with the gentle manatee, without the hassle of being restricted by time on a tourist boat. We are thrilled that Donna & Rick have already re-booked for next year and we truly look forward to welcoming them back to our beautiful island. The fishing lines are waiting Donna & Rick!! Alan & Dianne, Dreamcatcher Properties.

It is somewhat a tradition for my brother and I to get our families together during spring break week. This year we chose Dreamcatcher and couldn't have made a better choice. This property is great for a family get together with a large living room, plenty of kitchen space, a spacious patio area and loads of things for kids of all ages to do. We utilized the boat and kayaks for the week and have many memories... and pictures of dolphins, manatees, and the loads of other wildlife abundant in the area. Boat access is available for a number of restaurants, bars, and some basic shopping so our car stayed parked most of the trip. We all had a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Alan and Diane were great hosts and have a wonderful property. I would highly recommend.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was a real pleasure having Jeff and his family stay on the island. They arrived with the true spirit of adventure, adapted to island life instantly and used Dreamcatcher to its full potential. Jeff and his family were "Dream" visitors - they left the house in an immaculate condition and we cannot wait to welcome them back again!! Thank you Guys!! Alan & Dianne, Dreamcatcher Properties.

We rented Dream Catcher for a 3 night stay and it was just beautiful! The owners were wonderful to work with -they made us fell at home! The home was more than expected! Very clean, fully supplied. We already plan on going back!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: It was a pleasure to have Shawn and Shiloh and their friends and family as guests on Dreamcatcher - we are thrilled that the island has proven to be suitable for young children and continues to appeal to all age groups. We have found that the docks will accommodate boats of all shapes and sizes and we were so pleased that the family took time off from the scalloping and chilling out in the pool, hot tub and tiki hut to make use of the kayaks too! Next time perhaps their stay will be longer and we look forward to hearing from Shawn and Shiloh again in the not too distant future. Alan and Dianne.

We rented the Dreamcatcher for the July 4th weekend and were blown away by it! The house was much bigger than we expected and the owners had it very well stocked. It has a huge family room that overlooks the river. The gourmet kitchen has everything you could need including 2 full size refrigerators and a large deep freezer. We spent a lot of time out under the large covered deck enjoying the amazing views and swimming in the pool. Our kid's had a great time fishing off the dock and exploring the island. The island is centrally located (5-10 minutes) between the boat ramps, marinas, restraunts, bars, etc and the Gulf (10 minutes), but yet very private. We made several trips out and limited out on scallops every time. We invited family to spend a night with us so we can say it sleeps 10 very comfortably. We REALLY enjoyed the weekend in the Dreamcatcher and are considering renting it for a longer duration next year as it was hard to leave. We would highly recommend staying here! Jim & AmyRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Jim and Amy and their three children were our very first renters of Dreamcatcher and we could not of asked for better visitors! They left our house in an immaculate condition, and we can't wait for their return visit,. We look forward to sharing Dreamcatcher with other families, couples and groups, and sincerely hope that they will enjoy our home as much as Jim and Amy's family did! Thank you for choosing us Jim and Amy and thank you to all our potential renters for perusing our site! Choose Dreamcatcher - you will not be disappointed! - it is everything you see and more!! Alan and Dianne.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2002
About the owner: We purchased our dream island in 2002 and have since then worked hard to bring it to the standard it is today. For years we were very protective of this unique property and kept it solely to ourselves. As local business people, we appreciate the privacy, convenience and easy access that Dreamcatcher provides but the time has now come to share its very considerable charms.
Why the Owner Chose Homosassa:
We were captivated by the secluded, yet easily accessible beauty of the island. We loved the unspoilt beauty and lack of 'professional' tourism in Old Homosassa, the friendly and easy going atmosphere in the bars and eateries and of course the great fishing and scalloping in the Gulf!! Kayaking, jet-sking, watersports of all kinds are right on the doorstep, yet Tampa and Orlando, with their airports, shopping and numerous attractions are within an easy 90 minute drive from the boat ramp. We feel we have the best of all worlds!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The property offers views of the sunrises each day - the more adventurous can take a short walk across the island to Tigertail Bay along a trail cut through the lush forest, and watch the sunsets on the other side of the island too! Manatee on their way to the Blue Waters pass by the door and dolphin chase the abundant fish up and down the river on almost a daily basis. A huge variety of birds, serenade you throughout the day and squirrels will amuse you with their antics. Sit in the hot tub under the stars, with your favourite cocktail in hand and gaze at the magnificent floridian skies while you wait for your daily catch to grill. lay back, relax and experience the Floridian pace of life - we feel sure that the magic of Dreamcatcher will soon enchant you as it did us.
