Charming Caribbean Cottage with Pool and Spa

  Two of us stayed in Ruth Ann's lovely place while in St.Thomas. While it is off the beaten path it wasn't far from anything. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely and the studio was filled with every extra amenity we could have asked for. Ruth Ann promptly met us at the airport and patiently waited for us to get our car rental sorted. The studio was spotless and as I previously mentioned has a very well stocked kitchen and linen closet - tons of extra towels which is so nice when you are spending most of your day at the beach. The washer and dryer was also a nice touch. Extra special thanks for having some drinks waiting for us in the fridge! If you are willing to get a rental car I would most certainly recommend bypassing the hotels and staying with Ruth Ann. The price is completely reasonable and she is ready to offer lots of information and insight on the area. Waking up to such a gorgeous view made a great vacation even better. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

  When we found the cottage online, we were excited because it looked absolutely perfect. When we arrived in person we were astonished to find that it was even better than we had been expecting. The cottage came with great amenities such as wireless internet, floaties to use in the pool and a cell phone we could use while in St. Thomas (which was great because neither of our cells had service!). Ruth Ann had a bottle of champagne and champagne glasses waiting for us in the refrigerator when we arrived – as well as some other items like orange juice, milk, coffee and bread. We made dinner a few times while at the cottage, and the kitchen was very well stocked with anything we needed. There were also robes in the closet for us to use, as well as two collapsible beach chairs, a cooler and beach towels. It did rain one day while we were there, and we took advantage of the DVDs available in the cottage. The bathroom was spacious with a lot of counter/drawer space and two sinks. We also utilized the washer and dryer a few times - it was a useful amenity (laundry detergent is provided). It was incredible to begin each day with a swim in the pool, and end each night relaxing in the hot tub. The cottage was so nicely decorated that we really enjoyed being there. The property really does offer privacy – which was what we were hoping for. Ruth Ann was a joy to work with from the first inquiry e-mails I sent (which were always promptly responded to), to being available to help us while we were there. However – we never saw Ruth Ann during our trip, so while she was available to answer questions and help out, we still had the privacy of being alone. One morning Ruth Ann noticed that one of the tires on our jeep was flat – and left us a note and pulled out her air compressor for us to use. That experience reflects all of our experiences at the cottage – we had everything we needed and more plus great customer service. We had absolutely no complaints about the location. The road to the cottage is not a main road, and it took once or twice to get the hang of it, but after that we really loved driving along it - and I think that will be one of the things I miss about our time there. This was our first time doing a vacation rental and I won't ever go back to staying at hotels now. I would definitely go back to the cottage, and would recommend it to anyone. We had high expectations of the cottage, and we truly had not a single complaint.

  Very affordable place to stay. Very clean, newly equiped, cozy. Only about 10 minutes drive from airport. The drive off the main road is a bit bumpy/rough but short. We cooked dinner there twice and found the place well equiped. Jacuzzi was great, a nice touch at the end of the day-made better only by frozen rum drinks! Beautiful views from deck overlooking the ocean. You do need a car. There are several resort restuarants within 5 minute drive. Supermarket is about 7 minute drive. My single con was the size-I wake several hours before my wife and it was difficult to do my morning routine without bothering her since the bed is centrally located. I would return here.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  This cottage is beautiful and a perfect retreat. It's spacious, quiet, tropical - the pool is at your door, the view is over the ocean. It's got a full galley kitchen, too so you can have morning coffee and breakfast poolside; make frozen drinks to lounge etc. (kitchen is nicely equipped - owner is a great cook and you can tell) The location is central to everything - downtown (access to shopping, seaplane to St. Croix/San Juan etc.) and "East End" for ferry to St. John and other islands - plus local groceries, etc. You can get to shopping, beaches, restaurants, Magens Bay, etc. easily from here. You do need a car (and remember, drive on the left).

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
