Our stay at the bamboo cottage was wonderful. We were surrounded by the beautiful tropics and only minutes away from Hana Bay. When we arrived we were met by the owners who were very polite and excited for our stay. We had already booked months ago and then read that recent negative review that was posted saying they were pretty disappointed which kind of gave us a scare. It was very unfortunate for them though as they definitely cleaned up since then and we had no problems whatsoever. The cottage was very neat, clean, and simple. And the surrounding was just so peaceful and serene. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Hana. It truly is a hidden gem in Hawaii this beautiful town and we only wish we had stayed longer. We'd love to say thank-you to the owners and for accommodating us there at their lovely cottage.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was the 4th and last vacation home rental we stayed at during our 2 week trip to HI. Based on the reviews, we were expecting modest, but clean and comfortable. Sadly, we were really disappointed. We arrived after driving the road to Hana and got there at about 7pm on our check in date. We pulled up to the main house and someone came out to greet us. We told them we were checking in and they seemed confused, stating that they didn't have us on their schedule. They asked if we had eaten dinner, which we had. Then another man came out, apologized and basically said the same thing. They said they would need at least an hour to get the cottage ready for us. We went into town and had a nice drink at the Hotel Hana and came back at about 9pm. We pulled up to the main house but no one came out so we went to the cottage and found the keys there and the cottage seemingly ready for us. At first glance it seemed alright ish. Looking closer, we realized the screened in lanai had wholes in the screens, which let lots of mosquito in, making the lanai basically unusable. The kitchenette area and bathroom area need to be gutted and replaced. The counter was chipped in the kitchen and the shower stall and flooring are rotting and ..."nasty" is the only word that comes to mind. The entire cottage needs a very thorough deep clean, there was hair, dirt and dust all over the floors, under the bed, etc. We were hoping for shabby chic, but it was anything but and definitely not romantic. I wanted to leave after the first night, but the options were limited so, we toughed it out. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for anything more than a place to crash who doesn't mind dirt and bugs. I am really struggling to understand how it has gotten so many good reviews.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Flew into Maui, and rented a car, stopped at the grocery and reach the cottage before sunset. Great Drive. Checked-in what a delight met by several little creatures, ( all friendly) of course. Off to thr Bamboo cottage. We were met by the TSA agent Mr. Kitty once we got his approval we entered our delighful accommadations. Tropical paradise, Quiet, it rained everynight I love sleeping when you can hear it rain. This is a tropical flower farm and you can walk or hike on the property and see such beauty. I will do it again. My thanks to everyone at the farm, and Merry Christmas Hope to see you again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My boyfriend and I stayed here two nights during our week-long trip to Maui. The cottage is basic, but very comfortable and and has all you need to cook for yourself, including a gas grill, hotplate, and coffee maker. We bought fish and fruit by the side of the road to grill, which was lovely. We appreciated the screened lanai, beach towels, and the quiet beauty of the property. The cottage is just a short drive from town, beaches, and hikes. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a cute studio located on the same property as a flower farm. I'd recommend it. On a previous vacation, I'd done a one-day roundtrip, and that felt kind of rushed. I was happy to find someplace that would let me stay for a night (most of the vrbo places I contacted had a 2-day minimum). It was perfectly clean and well setup when I was there. The cottage has a rustic, out-in-nature vibe.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed our stay, although brief. Just needed a comfortable reasonably priced pace to stay so as not to have to make the Hana trip a marathon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We loved staying at the Cottage and wish we could have stayed longer. Our host was helpful and personable as were other people who were there. It was off the beaten path, not touristy, quiet, genuine. Would stay there again in a flash.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

If you picture yourself staying in a charming, quaint cottage under the canopy of a large Banyon tree with rain falling softly on the roof, then you've found the right place. We only stayed one night in this delightful cottage on a Tropical Flower Farm, but another night or two would have been nice. The cottage itself is a one room elevated cabin with an enclosed porch, including a double-size daybed. There is a small kitchenette- including a hotplate and microwave. The owners of the Flower Farm encouraged us to walk around and enjoy their property. I would definitely recommend this property for those who have ventured down the Road to Hana!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I were looking for somewhere to stay for our honeymoon this year and we were originally planning to stay at a hotel but it seemed like everywhere was completely booked. It was just a few weeks before and we contacted "Heavenly Hana's Tropical Bamboo Cottage" and amazingly they had availability. The owner was really helpful and made it really easy for us to book and pay and we were really excited to come. Only to find out this place was even more amazing than what it says it was on it's website. The drive there was so beautiful my husband and I were already taking pictures. It was like a dream already and this little cottage was adorable. It was clean, cozy, and quiet. Exactly what we needed to ourselves. It was the perfect place for us and my husband agreed that it totally beat staying in a hotel especially for the price, the privacy, and an entire cottage to ourselves for our honeymoon. Especially one surrounded with flowers and orchids and it was like our own personal tropical rain forest for the days we spent there. Hana was such a magical place and we will definitely come back again for our anniversary or recommend this cottage to friends and family. Thank-you so much to the owners for making our honeymoon as magical as it was. THANK-YOU.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We planned to stay at the bamboo cottage summer 2011 after driving from Lahaina to Hana. Its a long enough drive so we ended up reaching the cottage around 4pm. We were let in and to our dismay found the place crawling with ants (thousands, crawling/dead on the floor). Iguana poop on the bedsheets too. We left, called the owner who promised to refund us completely (which they did a few weeks later). We were very disappointed since it seemed like a nice place and it was definitely in our budget - sadly as it was already nearing 5pm and getting dark we had to find an alternative in Hana (didnt want to drive back). $250 later we found another place (plus a hefty bill from my cell phone provider). I realise that fending off ants might be a losing battle but clearly no one had checked the place before we checked in. Even though the owner did refund us (they seemed genuinely shocked at the state of the cabin) we still ended up spending ~$150 more than we budgeted as we had to stay elsewhere plus it left a bit of a bad taste (it was our last night in maui during an otherwise amazing trip).Owner response: Dear Robert of Canada, we apologize greatly for what had happened during your stay. We honestly can say this was the first and only time that had ever happened before a stay. We take full responsibility and can assure you and our future guests that this will never happen again. We hope you will accept our apologies and the refund we gave back to you. - Owner of the "Hana Tropicals Bamboo Cottage"

Just wanted to write a quick note to say thank you for accommodating us and being so helpful! We both commented to each other that we felt like our vacation actually "started" once we got to your place and we had already been on the island for a day! We had a wonderful time! Thank you for being a part of that!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
