  My husband and I just returned from our long weekend away from our stressful lives in San Jose. I took a long time to pick out our home away from home. Bounced between two or three different rentals. The end result was Luna Vista. It was just perfect for us. The great room was cozy and the hot tub was warm and inviting. This property has enough room for more than two people but we chose it over the others because of the location, price and online photos. Wendy also recommended a great masseuse...www.christinariveracmt.com. The best couples massage we've ever had.

  Spacious, gourmet kitchen, well kept hot tub, comfortable beds and plenty of kid-friendly amenities for a pampered stay. Great design layout also. If you are staying in the winter, make sure to plan time to light the woodstove and warm up the place, which can take a little while. The location is walking distance to the river beach, close to Guernville and a short drive to amazing hiking spots along Hwy 1. Highly recommend this place, especially for families.

  After working WAY too many days in a row, I needed a place not to far from Petaluma to get away with my family for a few days. Lucky for me, I looked on Craigslist and found that Luna Vista was available at short notice. It was even better than explained in the ad. The cottage is in a beautiful setting in the redwoods, the hot tub was HEAVEN under the trees, the kitchen was fun to cook in, the river was close, the bikes came in handy and the overall feel of the house was fun and funky and unique. I chose the house for the price and how many people it slept and even though it is small, the living area downstairs' open plan was more than enough room for all of us. We didn't have any need to contact the owners while we were there, but the booking process was fast and efficient and easy. I hope to go back one day for another enjoyable holiday under the trees!!

  We absolutely loved the cozy European flavor of Luna Vista. We especially loved the kitchen & bathroom…very cool. With all the activities planned for our family reunion, we never had time to use the hot tub...oh well, maybe next time! It was great to be so close to "reunion central" while having Luna Vista to enjoy our immediate family time too. Our grandsons (13, 12, 10) really enjoyed the inner tube, games & bikes provided. We hope to enjoy Luna Vista again sometime soon.

  I rented Luna Vista with a group of 6 close friends over Memorial Day Weekend. It's evident the owners have taken care to make this a comfortable, and tasteful vacation rental. In addition to fresh flowers as a welcome and a fully stocked, open kitchen, this home has been tastefully decorated with modern accents throughout. Although this is definitely a family-ready rental, as a group of adult friends, we enjoyed cooking and eating meals on the custom redwood table built into the inviting great room. We also loved watching movies on the flat screen next to the fireplace, and hanging out in the hot tub. The location couldn't be better. It took us less than 2 hours to drive here from San Francisco with some traffic, only 10 minutes to the shops and restaurants in downtown Guerneville, a 5 minute walk to the Russian River front, and, most importantly, a 15 - 20 minute drive to the enchanting Korbel vineyard (a must visit for anyone visiting the region). We look forward to returning to Luna Vista, and recommend this home to anyone looking for a home away from home.

  What a beautiful place to stay for a weekend or even a week! Four of my girl friends and I all got together for a ladies retreat and to enjoy barrel tasting and we found the perfect place to stay... There were a few minor set backs along the way but the renters were FANTASTIC about working out the issues. As it turns out these items had not been issues before and they were right on top of fixing them. Either way we had a great time in a wonderful home with plenty of space and so much to do! There were board games and books provided, a huge kitchen to cook in, and tons of sleeping space! I would have definitely rated it five stars had we not had the few issues we did. All I can say is a huge Thank You to the property owners for being so understanding and my friends and I already look forward to coming back next year for barrel tasting again! I would recommend Luna Vista to anyone visiting the area if they are looking for a quite place, great accommodations, and plenty of room :) A rave review from me!!

  The listing photos do not do justice to the beauty of this home. The owners were very helpful and quickly answered any questions I had about our stay. The property was well kept and very clean. I spent a rainy weekend here with some family and friends to celebrate my birthday, we had a great time cooking and sitting at the large table playing games. The home itself is very unique and tastefully modern. I cannot wait to go back in the summer!

  We had a wonderful time cooking and relaxing and this great house. Its in a quiet, wooded spot, but within walking distance to a couple local restaurants in Monte Rio. The hot tub is in a heavenly spot, under the redwoods. We will be back!

  My spouse, 4 kids, and 2 dogs stayed here for one week. The kitchen was fantastic and we were able to cook a variety of foods to save on restaurant bills. The living/dining space was large enough for all of us. We never felt as if the place was too small. My kids loved the bunk beds! It was clean and the pictures accurately represent the property. The town of Monte Rio was quiet and relaxing. Just a five minute walk across the bridge gets you to the beach, playground, movie theatre, and shops. The beach was not crowded at all, even on the weekend. Guerneville was less than 10 minutes away by car, and there was a Safeway there to buy groceries. You are also a short drive to many wineries. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing that kept this property from having 5 stars was the complete lack of closet space. hi, I'm his "spouse" and I just want to add that the aesthetics of the house are above and beyond expectation. It was lovely falling asleep looking up through trees into the night sky. Oh! and there were banana slugs! Outside, of course... fascinating. Everyone in the area was warm and friendly, a true sense of community. Oh, and the canoeing and kayaking are absolutely fantastic... I never knew I could paddle, but I was a natural... really:) That's all from me.
