  Our family just got back celebrating my 40th birthday in Costa Rica. We had a group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) and the house had more than enough space to accomodate us. It was absolutely everything we could ask for. Great location and a very close walk to the beach. Fully stocked. super clean (very important since I am a neat freak) with beautiful furnishings and comfortable beds. Loved the outdoor living area, especially the pool. The home had excellent safety features as well as a security guard that patrols at night. Angie the owner was awesome and super responsive to every question/concern I had. She recommended Dama to cook for us which was worth every penny. The food was divine. Our family can't wait to go back!!!

  We just got back from a fantastic week at Barefoot Villa. This was our first trip to CR and we weren't sure what to expect - let's just say we were not disappointed!! The house was conveniently located on a quiet street with a very short walk to the beach. Angie was extremely helpful and quick to respond when we were in the process of booking and planning. We surefed....zipped....explored and surfed some more. There is plenty to do for people of any age from toddlers to teens and grandparents. We were here for a full week and still left thinking there were one or two more things we would like to do -that is the sign of a good vacation! The house was true to how it is represented on VRBO - clean and well appointed - would definitely stay here again.

  We rented Barefoot Villa for a week with 10 of our friends and had the best time. The owners were so easy to deal with and were very accommodating. The house is close to town and a short walk to the beach. We did not have a car while staying here and everything was within walking distance. The guys would surf every morning at sunrise and then come back to a breakfast cooked by Nina. If you stay at Barefoot be sure to utilize Nina, her cooking is great and she is super sweet! The house has high-quality amenities, including high speed wifi, AC, iPod speakers, and an awesome pool. Even the beds were super comfortable! If you are in Nosara, make sure to check out Howling Monkey Adventures. This was recommended by Barefoot’s owner and was by far the best adventure tour! I cannot say enough good things Barefoot and Nosara!

  First of all, the owners of Barefoot Villa were awesome enough to put up a week's stay at their home as an auction item at our 1st Annual Crabbin' for a Cure event at Mud City Crab House (a David's Dream & Believe fundraiser in Manahawkin, NJ). We bid on the house and ended up winning...and in more ways then one as we donated a good amount of money to a local cancer foundation and eventually (a little over a year later) were able to stay at Barefoot Villa, which is a pad of perfection. Barefoot is plush, yet homey and the inside-outside setup is fantastic. We're surfers (and business owners) so the super fast Internet was a nice mid-day hook-up between surf sessions. The walk to the beach break is short and we were blessed with consistent, quality surf for our entire stay. As their pamphlet reads, Costa is known for consistent, head-high range surf...so don't expect too much, but know there is almost always a bump. The wave at Nosara is playful, but definitely begins to pump once it is chest high. We got a TON of waves and the crowd, although large, is very spread out amongst the giant cove. If you're a beginner, there are multiple surf schools offering lessons...intermediate and beyond, plenty of surf in Nosara as well as the ability to travel to other spots. Rent a car, allow Nina to cook for you, and enjoy staying in in a beautifully built surf palace...everything is labeled and it has everything that you need! We cannot say enough about this place!

  Just returned from spending spring break at Barefoot Villa. The property was immaculate and very comfortable. My husband and sons (college age) are surfers and they were within easy walking distance to a great break. Every possible amenity was available to us in this beautiful home. The owners have made certain that guests at Barefoot can simply relax and enjoy! Don't forego the opportunity to have Nina cook for you while you're there. Groceries were delivered to the house and Nina's meals were delicious. The location of this property is great - very close to the beach yet on a dead end road so you'll have plenty of privacy, not a lot of noise and very secure. We loved it!

  We stayed at Barefoot Villa from 27 Jan 12 to 2 Feb 12. The house is fantastic...workmanship on the house and furniture is beautiful. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes on unimproved road; no problem as the weather is superb. The pool is a great place to rinse off after surfing, and the open air environment downstairs makes a great place to relax at night, either alone, or entertaining the many friends you will make on the beach. The neighborhood is very quiet (except for the occasional howler monkeys coming through in the morning!). There are neighborhood guards that come through all during the night, providing a feeling of additional security if you need it. I felt quite comfortable through the entire stay, but did take all measures provided to prevent petty thieves from ruining my vacation if they were inclined. There are hotel style lockups for jewelry, etc, and with the gates/fences, I felt the owners had taken all measures they could to ensure my family felt comfortable at all times. The appliances are great - very modern and we felt we could cook any meals we wanted with the grill, stove and microwave. Access around town is good; we walked to the small village and drove to a nice Italian meal at Dolce Vita. The place is immaculate, and with tile all around, it is easy to keep it that way.

  My family & I vacationed in Nosara over the Christmas vacation. This house truly made our stay there very comfortable, safe and enjoyable. The house has all of the amenities - even a washer and dryer! The location is perfect...on a dead end street so barely any traffic and only a short walk to the village and beach - Playa Guiones.   What an amazing destination. Our stay was perfect, and due to the balance of outdoor activities with having such an amazing house to call base camp, we were able to rest and play perfectly. This home and localities has everything for a couple or for a family location. We fished, surfed, went out to dinner, explored, and experienced all the local spots. This house was the centerpiece to our feeling of vacation elation. I highly suggest this location stays at the top of your list, you will not be disappointed. The Stanley's.

  My family and I just returned from staying at the Barefoot Villa. I must say it was the best vacation ever. The house is comfortable and beautiful. Everything you would want, close to the beach, monkeys in the trees, walking distance to everything. The owner got in touch with a friend who is a chef and she had a wonderful dinner waiting for us when we arrived. The house has everything you would need, surf board, great bikes, ice chests, boogie boards and movies for a rainy afternoon. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans blender, rice cooker and crock pot..LOVED THE HOUSE!!! We will be back.

  We just returned from a 6 day trip to Barefoot Villa. We had a blast! The house is beautiful and has everything you could hope for, including surf boards, beach chairs and boogie boards. The weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, and the surf was awesome! We even got a visit by howler monkeys in the trees surrounding the house - what a hoot! Barefoot Villa is just a short walk to the beach (3 minutes?) and into town, and the house is absolutely wonderful. It has everything, from a spacious kitchen with a big central island, indoor and outdoor living areas, and big, comfortable bedrooms. The central house fan lets you pull in the fresh sea air at night, or you can turn on the air conditioner separately in each bedroom. We felt perfectly safe the entire time, with excellent security features that let us sleep tight at night, but everything opens up to the outdoors during the daytime. After a morning of surfing, the pool and outdoor bar is refreshing with just the perfect mix of shade and sunshine. We would come back in a heartbeat. And if you haven't been to Nosara before, the vibe in the water is the best I have ever seen anywhere. I am an average surfer, and everyone, from the hottest locals to the newbies at the surf schools, treat each other with respect. Just follow the few simple rules of the water, and you will find that everyone is just out for a good time. Barefoot Villa has just the right amount of luxury in a non-commercial tropical paradise.

  We just spent 9 days at Barefoot Villa and it has to be one of the best weeks ever. The location could not be any better. Two minute walk to the best beach yet tucked away on a quiet dead end street. There where several good places to eat and shop close by so you do not need to rent a car. It is obvious that the owners have put alot of care and thought into the property. Everything you could want was provided (surf boards, beach charirs,etec,etc). The house is spacious, beautifully decorated and has lots of comfortable place to hang out. We felt at home immediately and hated to leave but we will be back!!

  The house is wonderful. The layout of the house and the location are great. Harbor Reef was extremely helpful when we needed their assistance. I highly recommend the Barefoot Villa. We are planning to come again next year!!!

  We had a fantastic time while staying at your house in Nosara. The house itself is super luxurious and all the small details are in place, unlike most places we've been where lots of little things were clearly rushed. We saw monkeys every day; the first day we saw them hanging from a tree right outside the window of the top bedroom. The proximity to the beach was very convenient for surfing, and the two one and a half year old kids we brought had a great time on the beach and in the pool.

  My husband and I and four sons just returned from a week at Barefoot Villa. The house was so nice and new and had everything we needed. It was really nice to have the use of 2 bikes as well as beach chairs and boogey boards...no need to rent them. The house was beautiful and the master bed is very comfortable and made with nice linens (I really appreciated that!). The Harbor Reef staff was very nice and helpful when we needed advice or assistance. Can't wait to buy my own place in Nosara or come back to Barefoot Villa...I recommend it.

  I can't say enough good things about this place but I will give it a shot. After searching through the internet looking for a great place to stay while in Nosara and wanting to be close to the beach, none of the hotels seemed like anything special. I did a last minute search on VRBO and found the Barefoot Villa. Construction had just been completed! I was very excited about the pictures and the location. Both rang true! We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. The description is very accurate. The house is trully amazing; every detail is well done. The house is maintained by a nearby hotel and they were quick to service any need we had. The owners seem incredibly sweet and the love they have for this place really shows! The house was so convenient for us. We had been travelling around the country and were very happy to relax in a beautiful house by a beautiful beach; I just wish it was longer! Having beach equipment at the house was a real plus; we didn't have to go into town searching for chairs, boards, etc. We hope to go back again next year, its that great- I would absolutely recommend this place to friends... as a matter of fact, we already have!
