Gorgeous Lakefront three story log cabin renovated in 2010 exemplifies what living on Donner Lake is all about. Located on the 'quiet' side of the lake away from the freeway and noisy Donner Pass Rd (old highway 40), listen to the sounds of the lake and the year round babbling brook next to the property, not traffic.
This bright house has large windows throughout providing unbelievable unobstructed views of the lake, mountains and famous Castle Peak. In the morning and throughout the day enjoy the scenery.
Watch the sun go down over Castle Peak while pouring your favorite beverage. Climb in the very private hot tub or throw your favorite foods on the outdoor gas grill. Drop a line in the water off the private pier at one of Donners' very best fishing spots and add your catch to the meal. Eat outside or inside at one of two dinning tables while listening to your favorite music on the outdoor speakers or inside with surround sound. Or watch a DVD or HDTV on the 42' flat screen. Add even more ambiance? Build a fire in the new wood burning stove and enjoy.
The Master Bedroom is located on the third floor (top floor) with a king size bed and full bath attached including a large soaking tub that easily accommodates two. There is also a flat screen HDTV. There is a second bedroom on the same floor with two twin beds. The middle floor bedroom has a queen bed, a TV and a full bathroom just twenty feet away. The main living area has a large screen HDTV and leads out to a large deck with an unobstructed panoramic view of the lake. The lower floor bedroom has a king size bed, a TV and a full bath located just around the corner from the door. There is also a large 62' TV with a DVD player on the lower floor and a gas log fireplace for cool nights. This floor also leads to a deck and outdoor hot tub with great views of Donner Lake.

Nice house but too expensive
Nice house but too expensive
House was nice location but sort of dirty. Lots of cob webs and the beds/linens didn't look like they were changed before we got there. We were there for a week and there was 1 very small garbage can for all of trash (way up the street from the house). The location was very quiet, but for such a nice place, there should have been at a minimum, a dish washer. Too expensive, but nice house.

Owner response: As is our standard practice, shortly after our tenants arrival we contacted them by phone to insure that they got in all right and walked through the house with them to answer any questions or concerns they might have. They mentioned to us only that they found a hair in one of the bathtubs. We immediately offered to send back our cleaning service to clean the tub. The renter told us not to worry about it. We use an extremely professional and thorough local cleaning service. This is the only complaint we have ever received. For those of you who have concerns, we have many repeat renters and satisfied customers who are more than happy to tell you of their positive experiences.
What a beautiful home.... Plenty of room, nicely decorated, GOOD beds, the VIEW is spectacular! We stayed for a week (and did not want to go home). We brought our boat and the dock was easy to use and convenient. The kids went between swimming off the dock to the hot tub when they got a little cold all day.... What a fantastic week.... Thank you Nancy and Brad for sharing your home with us...
