  The place was a bit run down- not exactly what your pictures lead a person to believe- the floors in the addition side bathroom seemed spongy- and the place appeared not to have been cleaned in awhile- will not be back

  Owner response: The cottage is older and casual and has been enjoyed by many over the years. The flooring in the 2nd bathroom has another layer beneath it and that's why it creaks a little but it's fine and safe. The photos on VRBO are current. We appreciate you letting us know the cleaning was not up to your standards as we always strive to make sure our guests enjoy their stay. We use a professional cleaning service after each rental and have not had any complaints but will certainly monitor this going forward. We do have many repeat renters every year.

  We really enjoyed our stay in this house. We felt right at home and had a great time at Ocean Lakes! We hope to come back this summer.

  Great place to stay when in town for golfing, fishing or just relaxing! Very cozy and convenient. Close walk to the beach! Owners thought of everything to make it a great relaxing time!

  Whoever wrote the review "Overrated" sounds like a very mean person. I have stayed at this house 3 times over the past 2 years and intend to go back again this summer and fall. Every time my friends and I have stayed here the house was very clean and everything worked just fine. I feel bad for the owners as that review does not represent this house at all. You will enjoy "Vacation Station" and the location!

  I recently stayed here (for the third time) and noticed the owners had made some improvements. The house was comfortable and clean. What I like the most is it is so close to the beach.

  Stayed here recently. Has 3 tiny bedrooms, 2 accessible only by going through bathrooms which have no locks and one has a toilet that does not flush correctly. Carpet looks to be a couple decades old and is nasty. Our granddaughter (1 year) got dirty knees from crawling around. Dishwasher not hooked up. Furniture looks to be from the 60's with the accompanying dirt that goes with old furniture. Gas stove heats but makes a clicking sound so that we were afraid to use it. Lighter on gas grill does not work. Front door sticks. Way overpriced. Probably will never even go to Ocean Lakes again due to our experience here.

  Owner response: This is afterall a trailer with an addition. One bedroom is indeed thru the bathroom off the kithcen. The others are not. The watersaver toilet flushes fine if you hold the handle down longer.The carpet is always cleaned when needed. The dishwasher is portable and must be rolled to the sink and attached to work. The furniture was older but has been replaced. The gas stove makes a clicking sound when the igniter is trying to light the gas. Push button lighters on gas grills do not last 6 months in this pcean atmosphere so when they fail, you must match light the grill. The house is what it is and we are here to answer any concerns you may have. The price for a week in this house is on the bottom of the range that the resort charges for similar houses and we feel it is fair. Manager Dave Anholzer

  This community has everything. It is so much fun and family friendly. Many activities are free. There are beautiful live oaks all around to keep you comfortable and pretty lakes as well. The cottage is sooooo close to the beach and it has everything you need. All I needed was linens and groceries. Everything inside worked properly and the owner seemed very interested in my satisfaction. I saved a lot of money by staying here and taking advantage of the free activities. I plan to go back soon.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  We have stayed at "Vacation Station" several times and always had a great trip. We especially liked being so close to the beach so we could take our coffee and watch the sunrise. The kitchen has everything you need too. We used the crock pot one day and had a nice meal ready when we got back We feel at home when we stay here that's why we continue to come back.
