This home is a gem. We're usually hotel travelers but I think we've been converted. Staying in this vacation home was the same price as a hotel and we had a wonderful kitchen (so we saved money by eating a few meals in), a great little table to chat and play card games, two private bedrooms with super comfortable beds, and a great little sunny deck and BBQ we were able to enjoy even on a February day. My biggest concern with a vacation rental vs. hotel was cleanliness, but there was nothing to be worried about, the house was totally spotless...cleaner than most hotels we've stayed at, I would say. Thanks to Alla for candy treats and tips on where to eat and explore! We truly had a wonderful time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family was looking for a great place to stay for our christmas and we found it. We had a family of 13 so we rented this unit plus the downstairs unit which had a separate entrance. 5 of my family slept here and we had all our gatherings in the downstairs unit so if you have a big group this is perfect! It has a kitchen which was perfect for members to have what they needed when they weren't downstairs. They were very comfortable. It is very clean and the owner is awesome. We will return to Ashland and even though there are lots of places to stay in Ashland, we have found our homeawayfromhome! We will stay here again and again and again! Thanks Alla for a fantastic time and thanks for sharing your home and taking pride in assuring your guests are comfortable and enjoy themselves while visiting beautiful Ashland! What a wonderful trip we had to Ashland! Thank you VRBO for helping us find a great place we consider better than a B&B. We were able to cook our own meals, sleep in bedrooms larger than San Fran style B&Bs and play card games all night! We even used the BBQ for hamburgers out on the very enjoyable deck! Saw the other review and had to laugh, no bad smells - we will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The major concern that I have is that there is a mold problem at the house. There was an overpowering mold smell that emanated from the stairs and the closet near the bathroom. I notified the owner so check to see whether they have had a chance to repair the problem. On the positive side, there was a lovely deck in the front of the house where we sat each morning to enjoy the sunshine.Owner response: We are so sorry you experienced the unpleasant smell during your stay. The home DOES NOT have a mold problem. Unfortunately, we had an issue with a raccoon under the house that caused the smell but we were able to remedy the situation immediately. If we had know about the smell during your stay would have been able to correct the problem while you were still there. Just to reassure you once again, the home is bone dry and there are no leaks, water, or mold issues. We always encourage our guests to let us know of any issues that come up and are available 24/7 to correct any issues. So sorry again for your inconvenience.

We stayed for 6 weeks in this house. Everything was nice, the owners helped us finding stuffs for our little daughter. It's quite close to downtown, the Tuesday market, the Market of choice and my school ( EcoNest). It's clean and everything is there for a long stay. The beds are really comfortable. You just have to make sure you love the carpet and be aware that the University is on the other side of the street.... Also, you are in the second floor and the first floor is to rent too. The owners are always available for anything. It's a good place to be in Ashland.Owner response: We loved meeting you and your family and so glad the home worked out for your 6 week stay. I think that is one of the very nice things about our home, it is great for a short stay but also has everything you need for an extended visit to Ashland. Your daughter was absolutely adorable and I was so excited when I found that little dress for her, I hope she enjoys it! Thank you for taking such good care of our home during your extended stay. Hope you'll be back to Ashland again one day and stay with us again - next time with your family of 4! Warmly, Alla

We stayed at Ashland Dec 24 & 25 and had a delightful time. The place is in a quiet nbeghborhood yet close to the center of town. The apartment is both roomy and cozy. It was very clean and the kitchen had ample equipment for preparing and serving meals. We would certainly recommend it to our freinds. The owners were very interested and helpful in answering any questions we had.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Hi, I stayed at this wonderful place during the holidays this year and found it cheery, comfortable, warm and completely ready for us when we arrived. The location is quiet, the bedrooms are big and the kitchen had everything I needed. The four of us particularly appreciated the fast wireless access, the big oven, since we were able to roast our prime rib for our celebration, and the extra bed so that my daughter could join us for a few days. Thanks again excellent owners of the Ashland house!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, sightseeing.

The kids and I stayed there in December. Not enough snow, unfortunately, to ski or snowboard, but the place itself was great! Super clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, cozy rooms in a quiet neighborhood... We loved it and would definitely stay again. PS: Was surprised to see the 'disappointed' review--I thought the pictures here showed the place pretty accurately...Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. However, the galley kitchen is too small to accommodate a dishwasher. The space is too small to have a dining table and there are only 3 stools at the counter so when we sat down to dinner one of us had to balance dinner on our knees as we sat at the futon. The only serving piece was a stainless steel bowl in the minimally equipped kitchen. Our plan was to prepare dinners in the "well appointed" kitchen in the "spacious" apartment which turned out to be much less than represented.Recommended for: Pet owners
Owner response: We are so glad you found the home clean and beds very comfortable, we pride ourselves on how clean the home is and our beds are super comfy with wonderful 400 thread count sheets, lots of pillows and soft comforters. We do have 5 bar stools, not 3 as you mention so your party of 4 should have been able to sit comfortably at the bar. We also a lovely dining table for four with four additional bar stools. Though the kitchen is not huge it is exactly as represented in our photos. There is a full set of dishes, utensils, glasses, mugs, etc. for 8, serving bowl and platter, a full set of pots and pans, cutting board, cooking and serving utensils, cutting knives, etc. in addition to the full size coffee maker and electric tea kettle. We provide cooking spray, coffee, tea, salt, pepper and other basic cooking products. We are sorry the kitchen did not meet your expectations, however we feel confident that our home is exactly as represented in our photos and description - spacious, comfortable, ultra clean and a lovely place to stay for a visit to Ashland. We encourage everyone to take a close look at all our photos to see exactly what every room of our home looks like. Warmly, Alla and James

We had a great mini vacation in this homey space and wonderful town. Our family of four walked in the park, drank from the fountain, saw a play, had a wonderful dinner, had lots of delicious coffee roasts, ate too many pastries and had some great Oregon wines! Thanks again for the hospitality and great accommodations!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

What a nice place to use as a home base! We were very comfortable here with our 3 teenagers - one is a guest from Germany. The days were warm, but we also had a wonderful down pour followed by a beautiful sunset. Highlights were listening to a marimba band, seeing Hamlet and the lovely views. Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We loved staying in your unit in Ashland over 4th of July. Easily big enough for two couples and it was much better than staying in a hotel. Nice to have a full kitchen to cook in. What a cute, pleasant town, so walkable! The 4th of July parade, city band and reading of the Declaration of Independence really reminded us of old town America. We also couldn't believe how close Ashland is to San Francisco, made it in 6 hours on a holiday weekend (closer than Los Angeles!). We'll definitely be back to check out the Shakespeare Festival.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

We had a great time at this house. The location is super-convenient: within walking distance to 'downtown' and a nice park, yet nice and quiet. We also went to the nearby little ski resort to do some skiing and snowboarding. It's not very big, but for our skill level--and only about 15-20 min away--it was perfect. Ashland is a very cute place, with (probably obviously) some nice theater venues, for all tastes. The house itself was fabulous, very clean and cozy. Very highly recommended!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4
