Why the Owner Chose Boone
My wife and I enjoy the mountains and visiting the Boone, Blowing Rock and West Jefferson areas. We had rented a cabin in the area and found that this cabin was for sale. It did not take long for us to make a decision, finalize an agreement and purchase the cabin. We look forward each year to having our family gather for the Thanksgiving Day holiday where we cut our own Christmas tree and take it home. It has become a tradition and one we intend to follow for many years to come.It is a wonderful and relaxing area to visit.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Very quite and relaxing. Convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson and all of the attractions that are in the area. We have added a large floor to ceiling stone fireplace to enjoy quiet evenings around the fire.

We recently stayed here with our two college kids, one we picked up from App State for the weekend, and it was a perfect get away for our family just to relax and enjoy the scenery and each others company-including the dog! The cabin does feel like someones home and not a rental. It is quiet and wooded but not too remote. Convenient to Boone but out of the hustle and bustle. It is perfect for a family of four. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return. I have rented quite a few places through VRBO and found the rental experience with Wally easy and accommodating! Awesome grill!

I recently stayed at this cabin and felt more like I was staying at a friend's cabin than a rental. The atmosphere and environment were wonderful, a great combination for sightseeing and relaxing. I visited Boone and Blowing Rock-both beautiful. I also met Tarheel who played fetch with me for 1/2 hour!! I will be back in the spring and plan to visit Granfather Mountain and West Jefferson and see Tarheel again!! Thanks to Marty and Cathy for sharing such a wonderful place.

This was my first experience with vrbo.com and it was GREAT! The owner was very friendly and accommodating. We just returned a few days ago from this wonderful cabin, and are already thinking about another visit. The cabin is very cozy and was perfect for our family. It's location was wonderful, and great for relaxing in the evenings. We were able to visit Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, and West Jefferson. All areas were in a reasonable distance from the cabin. Also, we were lucky enough to meet the neighborhood dog, Tarheel, a very friendly golden retriever. He came by the cabin a few times to say hello, and then was on his way. I also enjoyed the drive up to the cabin. The streams that run along side the roads were beautiful. I was amazed by all the Christmas trees growing on the side of the mountain. All in all, this cabin was great and we highly recommened it. We can't wait for our next visit!!!

We stayed in the cabin New Year's weekend. The cabin was exactly as described. Clean, comfy, and had everything anyone would need. We were lucky enough to meet the owner as well. He was great to work with throughout the process. We will definitely be back.

The property was, as advertised, clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and evenings on the porch as the temperatures were in the low 40's. The area was very peaceful and just a short drive to the quaint shops in West Jefferson. We went hiking in Mount Jefferson Park and had some cheese from the Ashe County Cheese Company. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. This was our first VRBO experience and the owners were wonderful and patient.

This cabin was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable, quiet, peaceful, easy to find with the directions. My friend and I had a wonderful extended weekend here, the cabin was much better than we had expected, and we felt completely at home. Easy commute to Boone and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would highly recommend staying here, and I will definitely look forward to using this rental again on my next trip to the NC mountains.

This little cabin was nestled on a hillside on a back road, I mean a BACK road. It was private but not so private that it was scary. The kids loved the upstairs loft, and having a double bed and a single bed up there was perfect for my kids. They had their own bathroom too. They fell asleep as soon as they hit the bed! The sleigh bed in the master was comfy with the quilt and the bathroom was fine with plenty of towels. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we grilled steaks on the huge grill on the deck. My daughter watched ESPN on the satellite while my son did some swinging on the rope swing outside. We all took a long walk down the gravel roads in the neighborhood. I spent some time on the porch in the rocker with my coffee in the mornings, and in the evening the porch swing gave me and my daughter some quiet time together. This property is about 25 minutes from Zaloo's Canoes where we went tubing, and then we were able to drive to Boone in about 25 minutes for dinner at the Red Onion and dessert at TCBY. We were close to the frescoes in Glendale Springs. Our in-laws came over from Glendale Springs and visited with us one night; there was plenty of porch furniture for everyone to sit and relax. We also hit the Parkway, stopping at the Trading Post and at Price Park for a picnic by the creek. Tweetsie is not far either. I was afraid that it would be too far away from everything I usually like to visit in the High Country, but with 421 a four-lane road now, getting around the area was no problem. The cabin is not air-conditioned, but, considering we were there when temps were in the upper 80's and 90's, it was pretty comfortable. A cool shower and the ceiling fans made it more comfortable. But if you're used to a 68 degree home, it's a shock at first. The owner is accommodating and accessible, very pleasant and suggested things to do in the area. The cabin is clean and well-equipped. Over all I would totally recommend this cabin!

We loved the cabin and the location. The cabin was just as advertised, very cozy and comfortable. The location was close enough to Boone to be convenient but remote enough to be peaceful and serene. The cabin is set on a gentle mountain slope underneath the trees where it's shady and cool with a nice mountain view. All you hear are the sounds of nature....birds singing and the breeze rustling through the trees. It's also located very, very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and has convenient access onto the parkway for sightseeing. The owner was extremely helpful and provided a lot of area information to us. We had a wonderful time and loved the area. We hope to visit again in the future.
