Our family fit comfortably into this spacious three bedroom home. The view of sunrises over distant mountains and Santo Domingo was spectacular and the rental's amenities and cleanliness were all excellent! The proximity to the Zocalo and central sites enabled family and friends to walk independently around town even at night. We needed taxis only upon arrivals/departures. We would happily return next year.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, sightseeing.

We spent a wonderful week at Casa Crespo. The pictures are completely accurate. The view of Santa Domingo Cathedral is spectactular. The only downside is the traffic noise. It is on a main thouroughfare out of downtown, so the bus and truck noise is substantial into the night and starts up again early in the morning. I took earplugs, based on other reviews, and had no problem sleeping, It is just a few blocks from a great little local market. You can walk everywhere in central downtown. It is a hike up hill in the heat from downtown. But, that is why there is such a great view. Teri is a perfect hostess. She is always available to call with questions. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Casa Crespo was a good choice. It was located close to the church and Zocalo. It was clean and comfortable. We walked everywhere. There was a small store next door, which made it real convenient for getting eggs, coke, etc. The master bedroom, with a king bed, had air conditioning which was great because I can't live without it. Wished the other two bedrooms had at least queen sized beds instead of full size, although one of the bedrooms had a full and twin sized beds. The main window looks out to a picture perfect Sto Domingo church. The house has a big backyard, although no bbq equipment. To improve this rental, i suggest putting TVs in the bedrooms. Calle Crespo is a very busy street but that was nothing compared to the barking dogs next door. That's the reason it did not get a higher rating.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Casa Crespo. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is spacious and it was very clean. Nice size bedrooms, my husband and I slept in the Master bedroom which was very comfortable and had it's own bathroom which was nice. All the rooms have ceiling fans, the Master bedroom even had an airconditioner which was nice after a long day of walking around the city! The living room was comfortable for relaxing and watching some TV at night. The kitchen had everything we needed. The balcony had a nice view and we enjoyed sitting out there. The apartment has a telephone so we could make local calls which was very convenient. Also having the Wifi was a huge plus. There is also a washer/dryer which was great because we like to pack light. The apartment is very secure and private. The little store right next door was convenient for milk, coffee, bread, they even sold sandwiches. The location was excellent, easy to walk down to the city and back, close to restaurants. The apartment also had a parking spot, you could pull right in and close the doors, very secure. We liked this apartment so much we plan to book it again when we return next year!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Spacious, clean, fully equipped, GREAT location, beautiful view and so much more. My daughter Kathryn and her husband Victor were so taken with the place that they want to return for los Dias de los Muertos. They LOVED the air conditioner in the master bedroom. Marcrina did a good job the one day she cleaned. The Vargas's of the Miscelenea next door were very kind and helpful. Walked home from the spectacular Guelaguetza performance, walked to the Zocalo almost every night, went to Mitla, the market in Ocotlan de Morelos and visited a 91 year old cousin of my father in San Pedro Apostol and of course sampled some of the best restaurants the centro has to offer. This was my fourth visit, the return of my daughter in November of next year, will be her third trip. We were impressed with your property and assume that your other listings probably maintained at the same high standard.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+.

I can't think of a single negative for this wonderful place. My "family" of five stayed for 6 days and we really got the most out of Oaxaca. The location was excellent, very handily situated near all the action. We were able to walk everywhere, only using cabs to get to out-of-the-way sites like Monte Alban. Having our own kitchen was a great luxury. We didn't have time to whip up the authentic Oaxacan meal we fantasized about but we did make breakfast every morning and brewed coffee. All the rooms were comfortable and clean and what a view! We were there during the rainy season; it was glorious to sit and watch the rain clouds sweep in every afternoon and scrub the skies clean again for the next day. Overall a great trip and I'd definitely come back to Casa Crespo.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Casa Crespo met our needs and is basically as described in reviews, though less charming and more noisy than indicated. Mrs. Toro was warm, responsive when we called with some small problems and accommodating when we asked to extend our stay. The space was large enough for four adults (and could easily accommodate another two or three). Booking was easy; a couple things listed weren't there (e.g., a full cleaning during the week, second tv) but totally not a problem for us. The house décor is simple. Fine, but not atmospheric (and even a bit dowdy in ways.) Wireless internet access and phone were convenient, especially for local research. Safe parking area good for renting-a-car. Wonderful market with great tamales in the morning up the street and around the block. Pleasant view of Santa Domingo and the mountains from the little porch area. The location is right on the edge of the tourist area; an easy walk which is the upside of the location for sure. The downside of the location was noise. It's loud! The street in front of the house is well trafficked with buses and trucks accelerating up the hill. Even with ear plugs, sleeping was interrupted in the front room. In the master bedroom, sleep was disrupted by neighbors’ barking dogs (on both sides.) Maybe if the windows are closed it's better, but it was too warm for that in May. Overall, though, a good value given size/location.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Casa Crespo is indeed charming; the view from the living room and the patio are exact to the photo.Sto. Domingo Church looks stunningly gorgeous in the night lights. This is a very large villa in the heart of downtown Oaxaca, walking distance to the Zocolo, the market and shops. The housekeeper comes once every week. There are ceiling fans in all the rooms, but as nights are so cool here, I rarely used them. There is enough room for 5 or 6 people, so being here alone is indeed a luxury. The kitchen is the most well-equipped of any place that I have rented in Oaxaca, despite the fact that I don't cook very often. Overall, you will be pleased with Casa Crespo, and the owner is very prompt in communication, although I had no problems at all. Even getting water is a breeze. The store is just next door.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We spent a very enjoyable week at Casa Crespo. We were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Tere who gave us a good orientation to the house. The house was very nice and had everything we needed for a delightful stay. The view of the Santa Domingo church at night was lovely. It is easy walking distance to downtown and the zocalo. There were small grocery stores close by and some very nice places to eat. We had a small problem during our visit and a phone call to Mrs. Tere brought help within an hour. We would recommend Casa Crespo as a great place to stay while in the lovely city of Oaxaca.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, sightseeing.

We just returned from 8 terrific nights at Casa Crespo in Oaxaca. This home is large, lovely, well set-up and very convenient. The bedrooms are large, the patio is a delight with wonderful view of Santo Domingo. The house has everything one could need. It's a 5 minute walk from a terrific cafe (Cafe Brujala) and a terrific open market that has the best tamales. There is also a little store right next to Casa Crespo with friendly and helpful owners. Casa Crespo owners are also wonderful and kind people. I highly recommend Oaxaca and Casa Crespo.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, sightseeing.
