I was so excited to be heading back to Grand Lake this year again! It is like being home again among the mountains, pine trees, and snow.
This home was very cozy with more than enough space for me and my companions. The 4 bedrooms gave us several sleeping options along with the additional blow up beds to help make everyone comfortable. Everything was well kept and up-to-date with hardwood and tile flooring, great fixtures, leather couches, and lovely cabinetry. We also had plenty of room to park 4 vehicles (3 trucks and 1 SUV).
For dining in, the kitchen was more than accommodating – The gourmet kitchen made it as “easy as home” to cook up a good supper for the crew.
The breathtaking view of the mountains with a short walk to Columbine Lake made this home that much more appealing. The quiet serene community and friendly neighbors were like the cherry on top of the sundae. The porch made it easy to enjoy the fantastic mountain and lake views – not too mention the awesome pictures we took from this porch.
After a bit of sledding (which the kids and I did in the neighborhood on the great hilly snow covered streets) and snowmobiling (only 10 minutes away) in the scenic Grand Lake area, we enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace in the cozy living room. We hunkered around the dining table for card and board games.
The drive to town was only a few minutes (perfect for those that want to be out-of-town but not too far from civilization) which made it convenient for an afternoon of bowling at the quaint 8 lane bowling alley. Plenty of shopping and dining options were available – the barbeque at Sagebrush was great!
For those that need to be “plugged-in”, Dish Network service keeps you in tune to the world (especially events like the Daytona 500, depending on the day).
This Bear Highly recommends you stay here during your visit to Grand Lake.

We stayed in this cabin over the 4th of July. It was exactly as described. The view and deck is unbelievable! Excellent columbine lake location and close to town. Very clean, open and modern interior. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. We would highly recommend a stay here!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

My family and I spent 3 days in Grand Lake after a family wedding in Ft. Collins in July. We loved this house so much! It was immaculate, comfortable, modern and just what we needed after several busy days leading up to the wedding. The kitchen is modern and has all appliances, lots of dishes for group dinners, and pretty much everything I have in my own kitchen, including the little things like a food processor, etc. It is great that there are 3 full bathrooms and the deck has a gas grill and patio furniture for outdoor dining. The neighborhood is great and it's nice to walk around Columbine Lake after a big dinner. Harriet, the home-owner is very nice and good to work with as well. We would love to stay there again sometime...And, we saw Moose in the neighborhood which was sooo cool! Thank you Harriet for a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: It was so nice to read this exceptional review and know that the extra touches were noticed and appreciated! When we can't be there ourselves, it is good to know someone else is enjoying the view and amenities and that VRBO is available to provide feedback---

A group of 8 stayed in this home comfortably for a weekend wedding in Grand Lake. We had a wonderful time relaxing on the deck in the morning and just visiting in the great living room in the evening. The house is exactly as described if not better! The owner is a pleasure to work with, always getting back to questions and concerns. I would like to come back to Grand Lake and stay again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake:
The home was custom built by the owners, after owning the lot for several years, and enjoying the peaceful quiet of the Grand Lake area and Rocky Mountain National Park. This lovely and historic area retains its rustic feel, despite its popularity, and hasn't evolved into a 'commercialized' town. If you like peace, quiet, and beauty, yet access to restaurants, family, and sports activities (summer and winter) this is the place!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Marvel at the mirror reflection of the lake while enjoying a morning cup of coffee, watch moose grazing nearby, or from the deck, see Mount Baldy turn pink with the afternoon sun--you won't want to leave. Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, photographing wildflowers or wildlife is not to be missed. Rent a pontoon boat and visit small islands or fish in Grand Lake or Shadow mountain--fun for everyone. In winter, snomobiling(or snowshoeing) on groomed trails before returning to the warmth of the fireplace is wonderful. After the best night's sleep ever, awaken to the lake view through the French doors (master bedroom). The town of Grand Lake has many fine restaurants and fun activities as well, and of course any activities in the National Park are always memorable, summer or winter. Last but not least, we have the world's best neighbors!
