Kauai, a true island paradise is the most adventurous, romantic of all the Hawaiian Islands, and awaits you and your loved ones! We invite you to come and stay on the majestic North Shore and surrender to the tropics and all that Kauai has to offer. Our Hale Hanalei Beach House is a short walk from Wainiha Bay and Haena Pt, which has fantastic coral reefs! Close by are Lumahai Beach and Hanalei Bay. Just a few minutes by car to Mount Makana (more commonly known as the Bali Hai mountain) and Ke'e Beach where a true adventure begins for hikers on the Kalalau Trail.
This is a great house to unwind, sway in our hammocks or stroll to the beach in just a few minutes. Snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, surfing (seasonally), windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, hiking, shopping, tennis or golf all on the lush North Shore of Kauai!
For the golfers in your group Princeville features 2 World-Class Championship Courses, the Prince and Makai Courses, making up a total of 45-Holes designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. You'll also find a large grocery store, along with shops and eateries at the Princeville center. Or for fine dining visit the St. Regis with spectacular views at the back of Princeville! Drive another 5 minutes down the hill on the way to our home and you'll pass through quaint Hanalei town where you can enjoy a great selection of restaurants, kayak rentals, health food store, yoga clinic, cafes and charming gift shops featuring local artists. You'll find everything you need on the North Shore, just not too much of it, which makes it the best location to relax on Kauai!
Our house is great for large groups. Downstairs there's 2 master suites each with full en-suite bathrooms. Each bathroom has a 2nd door allowing entry from the hallway for easy access. Upstairs there's a huge living area with cathedral ceilings, 3rd bathroom, and open kitchen so the chefs in your group won't miss a thing! There's a small lanai right off the kitchen on the back of the house so you can BBQ easily.
On the front of the house off the living room is a sliding door which leads to a huge lanai where you dine and/or lounge comfortably.
Off the living room are 3 steps and small walkway which leads you to the upstairs master suite and full bath. There's even a lanai with a table, chairs and hammock for your comfort and enjoyment!
Don't feel like cooking? Stroll up to the Hanalei Colony Resort...less than a 5 minute stroll! They offer two venues serving up everything from on-the-go morning espresso and pastries, to elegant oceanfront dining at one of Kauai's top-rated restaurants, the Mediterranean Gourmet! Menu selections featuring Greek, French, and Middle Eastern influences, as well as fresh local fish and Pacific Rim favorites. Or enjoy the Hanalei By The Sea Luau on Tuesday evenings, featuring a traditional Hawaiian dinner and show in this intimate, oceanfront setting!

My family stayed at this great north shore house (excluding the master suite). Communication was great with the renter. We received our secuity deposit back within a couple of days of arriving home. This location is great because you can literally walk across the street to have your morning coffee, then take a few more steps to arrive on the beach. The house was super comfortable with everything you need. The outdoor shower was a nice addition. Haena is our favorite area in Kauai as it is near our favorite beach, Tunnels. Short car ride to Hanalei for great food/etc. Would highly recommend this house to anyone traveling to Kauai. Neighbors were super nice as well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

My wife and I rented the house (not the separate suite) and had a wonderful time here. The house was clean and well maintained. The location was perfect, with lots of options for beaches and a great restaurant and coffee shop right accross the street. The lanai off the front of the house was great for eating breakfast and just lounging in the hammock. The BBQ on the back lanai was a great bonus too. I would definitely return to Kauai, and would definitely stay on the North Shore. This house would be perfect for a family, with an extra option of the separate suite. I had no problem receiving my damage deposit upon returning home. Thanks for the great vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

We spent a great week in Hawaii in this house with my wife and three twenty-something children. The house was great and the master bedroom privacy was perfect for us. Very convenient to the beaches and the amazing hikes into the Na Pali coast. The numerous one lane bridges made it feel like we were really at the end of the line. If you're looking for action this is not the place but if you're looking for a peaceful time and access to the great beaches/snorkeling and hiking of the North Coast this is a good option. We all loved it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+.

Our overall experience was amazing! The house was as pictured, a great home with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The location was excellent, a quiet cul-de-sac across from a good bar/restaurant with a short walk to some of the most beautiful and quiet beaches on the island. We are already planning our return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

Except for some chickens in the morning its a very quiet country/residental setting with Fantastic views of Bali Hi Mountain and partial ocean. Hale Hanalei Beach House is in a cul de sac and there is a creek in the back yard. I'm glad I brought my insect repellent nad there were some cintronella candles on the lanai. I personally love walking down to Lumahi Beach from the road top and then just walking on the beach north westward. I recommend swimming (or surfing) at Hanalei, or Tunnels where they have life guards and Kee' Beach, the back yard beach has wonderful snorkeling. I plan to return this summer.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

After several requests we have not yet received our secuirty deposit back even though we left the home in the same condition we found it.Owner response: We send our security deposits on time. We sent a check for his deposit on time within 8 days. He emailed saying "....I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in your home! We have relatives who will be contacting you who also want to stay in your lovely home!" He did not receive the 1st check, we put a stop payment and we responded with a new check in 3 weeks which was received and cashed. There is no reason for him to say he did not get his deposit.

We went to the beach house in August with our families. One of the things my husband and I appreciated was that the master bedroom is actually a separate house with its own deck and bar but at the same time it's connected to the house by a bridge. The house is really cute and clean and the front yard is always abundant with fragrant native hawaiian flowers. It's location is convenient but quiet, there is a day spa, mediterranean retaurant and most importantly, a secluded beach across the street where we were times often the only beach guests. The other highlight for us was the beautiful church in Hanalei where we got married. We loved it and hope to go back soon!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: We have traveled to several of the islands and Kauai is truly a paradise island. On my last visit I found a small ice creamery in Kilauea Video store. Made on the Big island with fresh,natural ingredients -Place is AWESOME !!
Why the Owner Chose Haena:
We love the Jungle setting and creek in the backyard. Plus the views of Bali Hai mountain and partial ocean view in the backyard. The fruits and greens here in Kauai are incredible. I love to pick some bananas or papaya form the trees.
