This Maui Vista condo is on the 3rd floor of a 4 story building. Locally, it is called the quiet building. It is the farthest from the road. It is on the cool side of the building with nice trade winds. It has views of the West Maui Mountains and peek-a-boo ocean views from the lanai. From the entrance side of the condo, you have views of the Haleakala volcano. The barbecue area is right behind the condo making it very convenient. The elevator and thrash chute are close enough for convenience but far enough away that you won't hear any noise or traffic.
There are 3 pools with outdoor showers and 3 sets of tennis courts. The complex is extremely well maintained. The condo itself is well maintained and has been up graded in the last 3 years. The kitchen has newer appliances and a new refrigerator (2010). There are new 41' TV’s and DVD players in the front room and bedroom. There is a you-tube link at the bottom of the listing. It will give you a comprehensive view of the condo. We take check, credit cards or Paypal.

This is our fourth year staying at the Maui Vista complex. Our unit this year has been totally upgraded. The sofa bed was absolutely the most comfortable we have ever slept on! The kitchen is well equipped with spices and gadgets. Dealing with the owners (Dennis & Lori) was great, the contract for the unit was straightforward and payment was easy. We would recommend the Maui Vista condo for family & friends.Recommended for: Age 55+.

My husband and I stayed at the Maui Vista unit 3316 from May 1st through 21st 2012. It was out 5th trip to Hawaii and our second time staying in the Kihei area. Although Oahu is my favorite island, I cannot deal with the traffic so I come to Maui where traffic is light and beauty is abundant. Kihei is a centrally located beachside community where the best beaches on Maui can be found. Most of the accommodations are condos. Although each condo unit is of a different caliber prices can range from about $50 a night to $250 depending on the location, and whether or not you get a one or two bedroom unit. I literally look at hundreds of units on the web before I choose a spot to stay. I chose this until for a number of reasons: location, price, view, and décor. We rented the unit directly from the owner through VRBO.com. I have rented condos with similar amenities for a much higher price. They were no more attractive or closer to the beach than the Maui Vista. The pictures on the website and YouTube video are accurate, if not understated. The condo had recently gone through a number of upgrades including new countertops in the kitchen and bathroom, as well as a new shower. I was especially impressed with the new shower. It has a clear glass floor to ceiling glass or wall, as well as a black polished stone floor. Towels are large are large fluffy and oversized. The kitchen was well stocked and even had a blender. The cookware is pristine, which is essential to make a good omelet. It was clean and very well maintained. In addition much appreciated was a wide variety of spices to cook with. We cooked most of our meals with food purchased from Costco. Often times using one of the grills that were available for each building. There was a pool, but we did not use it, as we prefer to swim in the ocean. The view from the lanai was beautiful. While I have read in other reviews the advantages of being in unit three, none have mentioned the beauty. Building three is more abundant with flowering landscape. Not only is there one flowering tree, but three, as well as hedges of hibiscus and other flowing plants. No worries, the trees do not block the peek-a-boo ocean view, but enhance it by providing a frame. , we did not try it. This condo gets a lovely cross breeze and does not need air conditioning. Although the owner told us it had a new energy efficient air conditioning unit would recommend this unit to anyone. It is in a convenient location and I would recommend this uniRecommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+.

Oh my goodness!! We rented six condos at Maui Vista and yours was the best one. Paul stayed at your condo. Paul is a friend of my husband and travels all the time for his job. He had planned on staying at the Marriot but using his points was turning in to be a big hassel. So he said he would stay at Maui Vista with the rest of the group. Paul said the condo was great and he would stay again. He was so surprised that the faucet got fixed so soon. Thanks again. Originally my son was going to stay there but then he decided to bunk with his brother. All is good!! Thanks for sharing your condo. I leave on Thursday and have enjoyed my two week Maui Vacation. We will leave great feedback. EvelynDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

As already mentioned in other reviews, the condo is well worth the asked price and large enough for an extended stay. Nearly everything you need during your stay is there, for instance a beach mat and sunshade or a cool box and plastic containers to store your food on day trips - the only thing we missed was a hair dryer. The key to the condo is located in a lock box secured by a number combination - very convenient for our arrival late in the evening and also for worry-free beach visits. It's not super-clean, but absolutely ok - if you want to be able to eat off the floor, go to a 5 star hotel and pay the premium. The trade winds are nice, although on our stay in june they were not very reliable. For shopping in Kihei we recommend Safeway (at least if you are a member of the Safeway Club). Here's our take regarding the problems mentioned on the previous review: - We didn't have any issues with the water heater (which looks indeed new), this seems to be resolved - The vent in the bathroom is clearly there and appears to have a fan, though it doesn't seem to do much (we kept the door open to let cool and dry air in) - If there are dirty dishes, the provided dishwasher can be used (personally we didn't have a reason for complaints) - The a/c helps cooling the living room down, but it appears to be a bit old and is not very effective, also it doesn't cool the bedroom. Perhaps a new unit would be in order - this would probably help keeping down the electricity bill - The only 'noise' problem we had was with a few birds that woke us early a few nights. We didn't notice the adjacent condos at all and at night it was quiet, probably in part due to the 10pm silence policy As a side note, we also noticed the following (these should be easy fixes): - There are a few small ants in the kitchen and bathroom. Apparently this is to be considered normal though - The deadbolt is loose (a screw is missing) which makes it hard to lock the door - Towel hanger and shower fixture are not firmly attached to the wall - they can be moved slightly Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would certainly come again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

In terms of value, this unit is great bang for the buck. There are a number of advantages to the unit, including the proximity to the beach. However, there are a number of things left to be desired as well. The pros and cons are summarized below: Pro: 1. Close to the beach (Charley Young Beach) 2. Walking distance to Kihei Cafe and a number of shops and restaurants 3. Great value 4. Free wi-fi and local calls 5. Nice big flat screen TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) 6. Many accessories included (rolling cooler, beach chairs, beach umbrella, mats, swimming flotation devices, well stocked kitchen, beach towels, and a carrier with wheels to carry all the beach stuff with you). This greatly reduced what you have to rent or bring on your own. Con: 1. Many of the dishes were dirty, with food stuck on them or bits of food left in them. 2. No vent in the bathroom. 3. The hot water heater switch on the breaker constantly popped, requiring us to constantly switch the breaker back on, sometimes in the middle of a shower. 4. As with all units in this complex, there are glass panels that act as a part of the wall which do not block out noise. This means that noise from the BBQ area at night really traveled into the bedroom, making sleep difficult for our newborn. 5. The air conditioner is not very cool, and is only available in the living room.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: We appreciate the feedback. The water heater is brand new and, as soon as we were aware that it was causing the breaker to turn off, we had the problem fixed. We're sorry about the dirty dishes but, as guests come and go, they may not always properly clean the dishes before they put them away and the cleaners do not always catch it. (The Condo is Professionally cleaned after every guest departs) There is a vent in the bathroom it is on the opposite wall from the shower head. The windows and air conditioner are just a function of being in the mild and beautiful weather of Southern Maui. Louvered windows are the norm and, along with a little noise, allow in the fragrant and cooling trade winds. We appreciate the patronage of all of our guests.

This unit is not fancy, but it's very pleasant with plenty of light. It is in building 3, away from the busyness of the street. We made a lot of use of the kitchen, which was fairly complete. The queen bed is very comfortable. It even came with a beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler! . But the absolute best thing about this place is that it is literally across the street from the Charley Young beach -- one of the most amazing beaches in Maui! Staying in South Kihei is extremely convenient -- centrally located to everything, with a lot of restaurants, super markets, and tons of awesome beaches. We highly recommend Dennis & Lori's oasis in paradise.Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived in this condo. Very comfortable, clean and inviting. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would need for your stay. The grounds are kept up on a daily basis and are beautiful to look at. The outdoor grills were very clean and well maintained. The location was ideal and within walking distance to many of the beaches, parks, restaurants and bars. WE HAD SUCH A GREAT STAY WE ARE ALREADY BOOKING THE SAME PLACE FOR NEXT YEAR.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: I have been coming to Maui regularly for the last 20 years. Like many people I fell in love with the island and, after that first visit, I have always dreamed of owning a home and living here. About 9 years ago I met the love of my life...my wife Lori. We were married 6+ years ago on Maui and I have infected her with Maui fever. We made our dream of a retirement home on Maui come true In February of 2010. We would love for you to rent our condo and ......help pay for it. :-)
Why the Owner Chose Maui Vista:
We choose to buy a condo in South Kihei because it is across from one of the best beaches in Maui, we are within walking distance of a variety of restaurants (our favorites are Moose McGillycuddy's and Sansei), shops and the grocery store, and we are within a 15 minute drive of Costco, Walmart and the Airport. No place on Maui is more convenient without losing any of the beauty.
