We thoroughly enjoyed the use of your well appointed La Paz home from Jan 15-March 15, 20012. It was perfect place to spend the winter! The home was lovely and very welcoming. We found everything even better than advertised. The layout is perfect for one or two couples. The great room was large but very comfortable. I loved your ‘special decorating touches’, the pictures and statues. The kitchen addressed all our needs. There were plenty of quality linens for the baths and bedrooms. The additional equipment (chairs, etc) for the beach was appreciated. Everything was clean and well maintained. Relaxing by the pool, we each read many books and enjoyed your eclectic book selection. The friendly neighbors and local hikers introduced us to some beautiful areas. I found a Spanish tutor to improve my listening/speaking skills. Your caretaker was most helpful and frequently inquired as to our needs. I understand the draw of La Paz area. We have wintered many places and found the La Paz weather is unsurpassed for vacationers. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing winter.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our ten-day retreat on this property outside of La Paz. The home is airy, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. But we spent most of our time outdoors on the veranda where we enjoyed wonderful sunsets and quiet evenings. We especially enjoyed grilling fish out doors in December. We also enjoyed the pool, despite the somewhat cool temperatures. The ride into La Paz is quick and direct, something we really appreciated since we loved walking the Malecon at all times of the day and night. We look forward to renting this place again in the future!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind comments about our Mexican casa! It is especially nice to hear that you are looking forward to coming back for a repeat visit. It seems more and more vacationers are discovering La Paz... its charm and relaxed atmosphere, and as you mentioned...especially the Malecon!

What a beautiful Mexican Casa you have with everything you could ever want. The evening views from the outside patio overlooking the City of La Paz are outstanding and together with a sky of twinkling stars and a Margaritta were most enjoyable. During our recent visit we had a medical issue and a big thank you goes out to Burt who found us an english speaking doctor that lives right in the community. It turned out to be nothing serious, however, I can't tell you how comforting it was to have Burt's resources available. Thank you hardly expresses how we feel.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

"Your home was simply beautiful! It was just far enough removed from the city for Kenneth and I to get the much needed peace we were seeking. Your home had all the amenities we are accustomed to in our own home, so it truly felt like home away from home. Burt was extremely helpful and unbelievably responsive to our requests and questions... please thank him for us! I will absolutely recommend your home to others and look forward to our next trip to La Paz. Thank you for providing the perfect setting for a memorable 19th wedding anniversary!"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I stayed for the month of May, 2011 and wish I could have stayed longer. Very relaxing, quiet setting with fantastic views of the sunrise, sunset, water, mountains, and lights of La Paz. The house is very tastefully furnished and fully-equipped, and the pool is large and well-maintained. Property is nicely landscaped and the patio is large with plenty of comfortable, outdoor seating and shaded spots. Overall, I think the property is nicer than shown in the photos. Owners and property managers were a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. If you are looking to escape and relax, this is the place.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in your beautiful home. It was very comfortable and relaxing. The view is phenomenal! One night we sat out on the rooftop terrace and just absorbed the view of all the downtown lights. During the day, there is a beautiful view of the water. The house is beautiful and everything is very well kept, including the pool. The kitchen was wonderful. We will definitely like to rent the house again without a doubt.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose La Paz:
Like so many retirees, we began looking for a warm weather destination where we could build a vacation home to spend the winter months, and eventually our search took us to La Paz as we were looking for a destination less touristy than the better known resort towns. The old world charm of La Paz is still evident in the beautiful colonial architecture, and it is without doubt one of the most beautiful cities on the Baja. If you haven't discovered La Paz yet, it is about 90 miles north of Cabo, a city of 200,000, and the capital of the southern Baja with nonstop flights to the U.S. While La Paz has tourism, it is not a major part of the economy so far, however that is beginning to change. There are some good sized tourist developments now underway, and the city's first two golf courses opened this past year. It is a top destination for travelers looking for great weather, beaches, fishing, diving, snorkeling, boating, windsurfing, hiking, eco-tourism, and more.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We thoroughly enjoy poking around In La Paz, with its restaurants, shopping, activities, and its wonderful waterfront walkway, the Malecon. But when it came to select a home, we wanted more space and something a bit quieter and more private than we could find in town. A view of the Bay, a large terrace, private pool, and a beautiful garden were also high on our list. The house is built in traditional colonial style complete with a domed cupola in the great room. The property provides plenty of privacy with a 10,000 sq ft lot screened by walls and flowering hedges. The two bedrooms are on opposite ends of the house, both with ensuite baths, provding the maximum privacy. A rooftop terrace provides a 360 degree panoramic view of the Sea of Cortez, the city of La Paz, the mountains, and the amazing sunsets.
