My husband, daughter and I stayed here in February for a week (along with my 70 y.o. parents) to escape Seattle gloom. The house was beautiful and in an amazing historical location. Warm, inviting.... the beds comfortable and private baths for each bedroom which was perfect for us. The house was spotless and fully equipped. The owners were SO nice and attentive and really easy to deal with. The kitchen was well stocked and just to die for! So beautiful! I loved the art and style of the house, so many beautiful things. They've done a great job maintaining the original charm while doing many modern upgrades. Charm! We picked fresh lemons for our fish one night and had a fire on chilly evenings (we were there during a bizarre cold snap) and slept so well.... it was so quiet. The fountain off the DR was so lovely. We loved watching the visiting hummingbirds taking baths every morning. Perfect. Will definitely stay again! As former VRBO owners, we've stayed in quite a few and are experienced in the "rental biz". This house.... highly recommended!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It was such a pleasure to stay in at this beautiful home in Banker's Hill. The gourmet kitchen was a joy to prepare our breakfasts which we then enjoyed outside in the sunny and tranquil back garden. The house has been beautifully restored and we appreciated the comfort and ambience. The neighborhood is wonderful with great restaurants, stores and cafes and we enjoyed several walks exploring the lovely old homes in the area. Banker's Hill is very central and it's easy to travel and explore the San Diego area. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to our friends.Recommended for: Age 55+.

I rented this house for a week for myself, my mother and my small twins. What a gem! The house is beautiful and was perfect for our needs. It is equipped and decorated to the highest standard and it almost felt a shame to go out at all. The location is great as you are close to the airport and downtown attractions but have the peace and quiet of a residential area. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

I almost don't want to post a review, as this place is so spectacular, I'm afraid I won't be ale to book it the next time we go to S.D. Ideally located, beautifully furnished, spacious, fabulous kitchen, full dining room, lovely and comfortable outdoor space, this place has everything I could have asked for. I've booked several VRBO stays over the last few years, and this one was by far the best! My husband and I stayed there with our 2 teenagers, and the size of the house was definitely a plus, we never felt like we were on top of each other. We usually eat out a lot when we are traveling, but not here. The kitchen and dining room were so terrific that I made dinner for us there almost every night, and we had friends over! We were there as professionals at Comic-Con, and the Convention Center was a very short drive away (and quite close by bus, as well). And the Hillcrest area right around the corner had everything we could want, great grocery stores and restaurants (loved the Empirehouse for breakfast!). Thank you so much for your wonderful house. We will be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. Every detail of the interior and exterior was extraordinary. The location is perfect for all of the downtown area fun things to see and do and very convenient to the airport. We have been to SD many times and we enjoyed staying home reading, relaxing and spending time in the great garden area. A nice steak on the grill and a bottle of wine made for a perfect quiet evening.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our recent stay in San Diego in March 2012 was incredible! We immediately felt at home and so comfortable in this lovely bungalow. With all the comforts of home and private yard, we were thrilled to stay here. And we hated to leave! We would highly recommend this property and already have to a few friends and family. It is a real gem! Of course, since it was our daughter's wedding, we were already thrilled to be in San Diego, but this home will always hold a special place in our hearts :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you so much for your hospitality!!! My husband and I had a wonderful time exploring sunny San Diego and getting some R and R at your beautiful home. It was so nice to be in walking distance to Balboa Park and some delicious restaurants and just a short drive to the bay. We did some great whale watching, took in the wonderful zoo and checked out Coranado Island. Thanks again for everythingRecommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I can't say enough about our experience in this house. We have rented several VRBO houses over the years at many different locations. This one exceeded our expectations more than any other. The other reviewer is correct when they say the photos don't do it justice. It is MUCH bigger and more beautiful than the pics can ever convey. The patio looks like a movie set. The lights, furniture and heaters make you want to stay out there all night. Besides the gorgeous furnishings inside, the outside was maintained impeccably as well. We saw about 10 hummingbirds on the various plants and fountains. And, Francisco and Jim left us with a completely stocked kitchen. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had the good fortune to rent this lovely craftsman home for a week last summer. It is impeccably furnished and maintained. We found it to be warm and inviting and felt immediately at home. It is decorated with antiques and fine art work but not in a fussy manner. The kitchen is a dream to cook in and the backyard heavenly to take one's morning coffee or tea. The web site photos do not do it justice. We hope to stay there again soon. It is in walking distant to numerous excellent restaurants and the lively Hillcrest neightborhood.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
