Furnished Luxury - Doorman Apartment - Overlooking the Hudson
- Minimum stay:Contact owner

The large one bedroom apt. sleeps 2-4 people with a dining area. The apt. is in a full service doorman building on 63rd and West End Avenue overlooking the Hudson and NJ. The apt's views are spectacular. The apt has all the amenities needed with linens and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a specialty coffee maker. The apt has wireless cable, and a DVD for movie watching. Also has an Ipod speaker, so you can listen to your favorite songs. Laundry is available in the building or can be sent to the cleaners next door.
There is a small park in front of the building and then a wonderful park adjacent to the water with movies shown every Wednesday night and a lovely outdoor cafe. The west side path is fabulous. You will see people walking, running, and riding their bikes daily. There is a bike store a block over where you can rent bikes and enjoy the path along the water. Along this path is the well known 79th street Boat Basin, a very nice place to get a drink or a bite to eat. Central Park is a 5 minute walk.
The apt is in walking distance to all, subways, restaurants, shopping, movies, museums, and wonderful sights. There is the M57 bus on the corner of the building that goes up the west side and across town to the east side of Manhattan. This bus takes you to Madison and 5th Avenue, where all the famous shops are. The building also provides busing to the subway and to Columbus Circle during rush hour times. Columbus Circle is wonderful for shopping, and seeing Jazz at the new Jazz Hall.
I do not have any pets and prefer not to have any rentals with pets. This is a lovely building and everyone is friendly and helpful. You will enjoy your stay.

We had reserved this apartment some months ago so did not see the latest reviews including statements -. “The location was perfect…..The apartment was clean and stocked with everything we needed…….This property is exactly as described, but the owner is even better” We concur 100% with those phrases of well-deserved praise. I stayed at the apartment alone for 3 nights in March and for 10 nights with my wife late April to early May. We had picked the apartment for proximity to Met Opera. It is less than a ten minute walk to the opera house, which was especially appreciated during snow flurries in March and after late nights during Met Ring Cycle. We delighted in the view and in the neighborhood plus bonua of friendliness in the building that surprised us. We hope to stay in the apartment again in 2014. It’s a delightful place!.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed two weeks at this apartment. We arrived two days after hurricane Sandy and Jeannie, notwithstanding the fact that she and her family experienced property damage and she was out of town trying to return to the city, still ensured we made it to the apartment ok and that we had everything we needed. The location was perfect: walking distance to restaurants and subway, bus stop across the street, free shuttle to Columbus Circle, a bagel shop and grocery close by, and a great view of the Hudson River. The apartment was clean and stocked with everything we needed, even coffee pods for the coffee maker. We had plenty of drawer/closet space for our clothes. The laundry is convenient in the building and the doorman and lobby person were very helpful. We definitely plan to return in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This property is exactly as described, but the owner is even better. She went over everything with us, how to use the laundry, even walked us to a nearby gourmet grocery. The apartment is on the 24th floor, and is very quiet. Which is nice after all day in the city. It's perfect for a couple or couple with young family. It's just been a great experience. She has even continued to help with basic tourist info. You can't go wrong working with Jeannie.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I just returned from NYC and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment! The location was excellent. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance; highlights were Lincoln and Celeste. We stocked up with some breakfast food/drinks at Gracefully one block away - great shop! Apartment is well organized with plenty of room and a fully-stocked kitchen. The view is great, especially in the evening. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay near Columbus Circle or Lincoln Center. Thanks, Jeannie for all your great advice and hospitality!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I stayed in this apartment when in the city to celebrate my 50th birthday. We had a great time. Jeannie keeps a very clean apartment and it has all the amenities you could want. It was nice to wake up to a view of the Hudson River and watch the ferries going back and forth. The spacious bedroom has a comfortable bed and the bathroom was nice and clean. The apartment was the perfect size for two adults. Everyone in the building was very nice and the doormen helpful. We felt right at home. The building provides a shuttle to Columbus Circle so we took advantage of that benefit. Jeannie gave us drections to stores, subways, bike rentals and restaurants. This was helpful and made us feel like we fit right in as we pretended to be real New Yorkers. We took her recommendation and dined at Cafe Luxumborg one night. The food was delicious and we had a great evening stroll home. Overall, we had a wonderful experience in a lovely apartment while enjoying a great city. We would definitely stay here again on another visit. Thanks Jeannie for sharing your home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The apartment is in a great location on the upper west side. We rode our bikes on the Hudson River bike path and had $8.00 cab fares to Times Square. Parking in the attached garage was $25 per day. The view of the Hudson river was awesome! Very safe. Nice grocery 1 1/2 blocks away. Fast wifi connections for our teenager. The owner gave us a personalized introduction to the apartment and the area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We celebrated an anniversary here and could not have been more pleased with our choice. The property is very clean and well maintained and the location could not be better. Just a couple of blocks from Lincoln Center, Julliard, and the subways and an easy walk to Central Park. The MOMA, the Metropolitan Museum, the Guggenheim and the Museum of Natural History are also easily walkable or just a cab or subway ride away as is a lot of the nicest shopping on 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue and all of the excitement of Times Square and theatre district. What we particularly like about this property are: #1 Everything is very clean and everything works including the internet! (experienced vacation renters will know what we mean) #2 Supermarkets are very close by (really handy if coming in from a long flight and in need of some provisions ASAP) #3 the views are very special and not so easy to come by in an apartment in this size and price range #4 The location, as already mentioned, but also, in particular, it seems to be a good location for getting a cab even in morning rush hour to head for the airport #5 Although the access to downtown and the harbor area is easy, being a little uptown, the area has a more open and tranquil feel to it (if you can imagine that in NYC!) as compared with being right downtown. All in all an excellent option and one that we will certainly want to stay in again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Nice building. Everyone is friendly and helpful. In a great neighborhood on the water. We had a picnic for hours in the park overlooking the Hudson and watched a beautiful sunset. The apt is clean, comfortable and has everything you will need. My sister even looked at the apt and would consider it for her in-laws when they visit NYC.Did you find this review helpful?
