This cottage is absolutely superb! A perfect location for a family or traveling bass tournament fisherman. It has it's own boat ramp and floating dock conveniently located on a central part of Lake Murray. What a great cabin and location. I would highly recommend that you consider this cabin. The owners were fantastic and have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. Fantastic people. I will stay again upon my return to the Lake Murray area.

Lovely, clean, comfortable cottage. Great for boaters or just for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Beautiful gardens, friendly hosts. If you can't relax here then you can't relax anywhere. Thank you John for this lovely little spot of heaven.

Owner response: Thank you for all the kind words. It was my pleasure to have you stay in the cottage. It sure was hot while you were here. Wish you could have caught more fish but I think the weather had a lot to do with it. Hope you can come back sometime. Thanks, John

My husband and I had the most relaxing vacation at the Lake house owned by the Burnetts. If you like floating on a raft -right off their sandy beach, this place is for you. If you have a boat - it is more wonderful. Boat ramp and dock right there. Meeting all the Burnetts and friends was great and they are the most hospitable people you can find. So many amenities are provided (towels, sheets, coffee, filters, laundry detergert, dvd player, 3 tvs, pots pans, coffee pot and I nice screened in porch). Sitting on the swing in the morning, drinking coffee, reading a book and listening to the birds was just so wonderful. We were there over the 4th of July and the fireworks from Dreher Island State Park were just spectacular. The lake is very big so we got to enjoy our boat everyday. Thanks again to all the Burnetts for their hospitality and friendship. We will be coming back.

We went to fish but the weather was bad. Did not get to fish from the boat much so we fished from the bank and did very well. We enjoyed our stay in spite of the weather. The cottage was clean and comfortable and we had everything that we needed. I would like to stay there again at a later date. I would recommend this place to friends and relatives.

My wife and I have 2 dogs - 29 lbs. of Cocker Spaniel and 150 lbs. of Lab/St. Bernard mix. Finding pet friendly vacation lodging is not easy with such livestock. The pet fee here was most reasonable as was the weekly rental rate. The location was ideal. Wake up each morning to look out over the cove. Watch the fishermen come in, start casting lures and catching bass. Walk the dogs by the water or up on the road and rarely run into anyone else. How much better can it get. The location is secluded; but, it isn't isolated. There are neighbors immediately to each side of this property; but, we never saw them but once the entire week. The cottage has everything you need except your change of clothes and money to spend. Towels, linens, laundry facilities and laundry detergent, dishes, silverware, glasses, stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and a lot of things I'm forgetting. Anyway, if you don't plan to wear it, read it, or spend it, you probably won't need to bring it with you. Now, don't get this cottage confused with a Hilton Hotel as it isn't in that league. But, if you want affordable comfort in a quiet setting, you will like this place. Oh, one last thing I need to mention. The queen bed was as comfortable as any I've ever slept on in 65 years.

The wife and I had a great time. Location near the State park. Small but very comfortable place. John will help you with anything you might need. He lives right next door. View is very nice, especially from the screened in porch. We ate on the porch often. Chapin is not very far away for restaurant and groceries.

We came to S.C. for my son's graduation from basic training at Ft Jackson (it's about a 1 hr drive from the cottage, but well worth staying here). We needed a place that we could cook our own meals, that would accomodate 5-6 people & have a nice vacation as well. I was more than pleased with this place & could not have asked for anything better. The landscape of the property was beautiful, we had our own private beach, the price was reasonable & John & Nita were some of the nicest people that we have ever met. Don't let the name cozy cottage fool you because with the five of us never felt crowded, even when we were all together in the living room or on the screened in porch. We did not feel like we were on top of each other & there was plenty of space to move around. We rented their pontoon, John took us out to see the Purple Marlins coming in to roost, we went tubing, fishing, cooked out & that was just around the cottage. We went to Columbia & saw the State Capitol & the Govenor's Mansion Gardens, which were both free (if you want to tour the mansion itself you must call ahead in case the family is home). We went down to Charleston & saw Magnolia Plantation, The Battery/Whitepoint Gardens, went to Folly Beach & ate at JB's Smokeshack. We had family day at the base, followed by graduation day. In the end, none of us wanted to leave as this was one of the best vacations that we had ever had, if not THE best. It was very relaxing here & during the week, when no one is out on the lake, you feel like your got the lake to yourself & Lake Murray is HUGE. Also, you would not think that getting some heavy rain from Faye would be enjoyable, but if it had not rained, we would have never know that the rock gardens throughout the yard actually double as waterfalls, how clever! I would recommend this place to any traveler coming through this area who would like to relax or even come to see your Soldier. They mentioned that they do weddings & I believe that this would be a beautiful place to do that as well. I would like to thank John & Nita for everything, I felt like I was visiting family even though I had never met them before. I would love to come back again sometime in the future & I will never forget the wonderful time we had. I suggest that you at least stay for a week (cause your not going to want to leave) & make sure you read their guest book it says nothing but great things about the other guests trips here.
