Excellent rental property near Brevard. The house was as described in the VRBO description. Lisa was great in responding to any of the questions that we had. Good property for one or two couples or a family with 2-4 children. GPS doesn't work that well to find the house for the first time. Accurately follow the odometer instructions that Lisa provides and everything is cool. Good house, good beds, good fireplace (plenty of wood), good location (maybe 5-10 minutes down the hill to the Bi-Lo supermarket). 10-15 minutes to downtown Brevard. Hendersonville is 30 minutes, Asheville is 30-40 minutes, Waynesville is 1 hours. All doable in a day trip. Many waterfalls, canoeing, fishing, lots to do or just make a fire, drink some wine and relax. Lisa and Clay are super to deal with. Would return in a minute and would highly recommend.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We visit family in Brevard several times a year. We decided it would be more economical to rent a cabin/cottage than to stay in a hotel. Not to mention much homier. We have tried different cabins in the area and have chosen Mountain View as our home away from home. It is so beautiful here and not far from family and activities in the area. The deck and view are awesome. From the moment we walked through the door we felt at home! We are already planning our stay in July and November.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with young children.

We liked the split bedroom/open living area floor plan. The back porch and deck made us yearn for better weather, so we could use them more. It was extremely quiet and comfortable for sleeping and relaxing. The description and pictures were accurate. We found the property clean, well-maintained, and well-stocked with area information and reading material. We would definitely recommend this property, and the Pisgah area. We passed drug store, Walmart, and grocery store on our way to many trails and downtown. We have also stayed at the owner's near by vacation home two years in the past, and liked it as well. We liked the openness, view, and split floor plan of this cabin better.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway.

We had such a great time at this mountain paradise. The owners were super helpful in helping find the place and making sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I went over Christmas as our honeymoon and could not have asked for a more beautiful setting to relax and enjoy our time together away from work and the stress of the holidays. The cabin itself was clean with a well stocked kitchen so we had everything we needed to cook and stay snuggled up by the fire all day if we chose. You are totally secluded yet close enough to Brevard and Asheville that if you want to go into town you can be there in no time. Right outside of the entrance to Pisgah Nat'l Forest and Dupont Park. The waterfalls are BEAUTIFUL! We would recommend this place to anyone and plan to come back with friends in the summer so we can really enjoy the great deck this cabin has!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I've stayed in this cabin twice over the past two years, once with kids and once with friends. It has a great deck with great views, a large main room where everyone can spread out but still be together, and most of all proximity to the best road and mountaini biking east of the Mississippi. Minutes from Pisgah National Forest and DuPont. I'll be back and recommend to my friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

After a seven hour drive we arrived at this house only to find it had not been cleaned or made ready for our arrival. We had to leave for a few hours while the cleaning lady cleaned yet I still spent my first night of vacation cleaning after she left. I left the house cleaner than I found it! We ending up leaving 2 days early. Very disappointed. Will not return!Owner response: We were disappointed to receive our first negative review for this cabin. We have always prided ourselves on providing a comfortable, clean, and well-appointed home away from home for our guests. We employ a professional cleaning service to ensure that the cabin is always prepared for incoming renters, and this is the first and only time that the cabin was not cleaned prior to their arrival. When we were made aware of the oversight, we immediately sent our cleaning service to rectify the situation. In addition, we gave our guests a discounted rental fee to apologize for their inconvenience. We have taken the steps to guarantee that this situation does not happen again. We deeply regret that our guests were not able to enjoy the many wonderful sites and activities of the Brevard area because of this situation.

Owner info
Why the Owner Chose Brevard:
We chose to purchase rental property in the Brevard area due to its proximity to the beautiful scenery, wildlife, outdoor activities (i.e., hiking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, and bike riding, etc.) available in the hundreds of acres of state and national forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition, Brevard is a charming Appalachian town that offers a thriving music and arts community, as well as fantastic shopping and dining.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
While a mere 5 minute drive to wonderful downtown Brevard area, visitors to this cabin will enjoy a private, secluded haven complete with astonishing views, a beautiful setting atop Mine Mountain, and the potential to see a large variety of the wildlife indigenous to this region (including the unusual white squirrels Brevard is known for).
