We stayed in what we dubbed the "Love Shack" for four beautiful May nights and were very pleased. Pam was easy to deal with, the location couldn't be better and the cottage is comfortable and well appointed. It was slightly smaller than we anticipated but more than met our needs. Not to mention the peace of mind that comes with dedicated parking in Seattle. Overall, highly recommend and would stay there again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Thanks to Pam for a very comfortable stay at the Portage Bay Guest Cottage. My husband and I spent a week in Seattle visiting relatives, felt right at home tucked back from urban life at this little gem of a place. It was spotlessly clean with a bouquet of fresh cut flowers, everything available that you might need in a home away from home. So convenient to downtown Seattle and the freeways. We enjoyed strolling along the waterfront in the evening. The bed is double-sized, but was also very comfortable for the two of us, we slept really well. It was great not to have to hassle with parking as we parked right outside our door behind Pam's house, off-street. We highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting the Seattle area, we'll definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed in Pam's cottage for 3 nights mid August. We found the property to be very cleverly designed, beautifully furnished, equipped for cooking and dining in and last but not least, clean. With parking being at a premium in Seattle, Pam made sure that our parking spot was always available, even though she herself had company that weekend. She is a delight to deal with and we would stay there again without question.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This cottage is nestled behind a home in a quiet, centrally located neighborhood. I had easy access to meetings at the University of Washington, bike rental and the Burke-Gilman Trail, restaurants, Pike's Place Market/downtown, and anything else we wanted to do in Seattle. We cooked meals in the kitchenette and enjoyed being able to leave the door and windows open to enjoy the fresh air. I-5 is quite close to this location, but traffic sounds are minimal. This rating is only a "4" because we found a few basics missing, such as dish soap, a hair dryer, and extra kleenex. Overall, a lovely stay in a lovely location:)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I'm happy to say that all travelers near and far have had a positive experience while staying at my cottage. This was the first time I was out of town while visitors were there, but was always accessible by cell for any questions or needs. The dish soap is always filled by myself prior to checkiing in and is located in the pump above the sink. I did have another guest who didn't realize it was there also. I will be sure and add that to my welcome letter left inside the cottage. I apologize to my former guest that the hair dryer was missing, it has since been replaced. Again, I would like to assure to my future guests that I'm either across the driveway in my house or just a call away. As a former travel agent, I want to accommodate everyone with information about the beautiful city of Seattle and make sure all needs are met here at Portage Bay Guest Cottage.

I stayed here alone for three nights in July while my partner was climbing Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams. Everything was just great. Owner/host Pam was lovely to deal with -- very responsive to initial inquiries and efficient with reservations, etc. She has furnished the cottage in an attractive manner and has provided everything needed for comfort and convenience. I even used the kitchenette to cook dinner one night. The location is great for seeing beautiful Seattle and it is so convenient to be able to park right in front of the cottage. Pam provides outdoor seating that looks upon pretty landscaping and she welcomes guests by providing fresh flowers, juice, bottled water and fruit. Very considerate, hospitable touches. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend this property to family and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car.

This delightfully appointed and picturesque little cottage is a gem. Everything was beyond my expectations. Owner Pam is a refreshing person and very professional. FYI: As a retired Madison Avenue art director I used to get paid for my aesthetic opinions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

During September we had a lovely 7 day stay in this cozy, beautifully appointed cottage. Its off-street parking and proximity to small neighborhood groceries, East Lake Bar and Grille, UW campus, Burke- Gilman Trail, and U Village is an added advantage. The charming owner is a wonderfully accommodating hostess. Thank you, Pam! We look forward to seeing you again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed here in August and absolutely loved it. It's cozy, cute and beautifully decorated. Very comfortable. One of the best things about this guest cottage is that it's close to everything in Seattle. Belltown and Pike Place Market just a short cab or bus ride away. The bus is half a block away, and one of them takes you to all the great shops and restauarants on Broadway in 10 minutes. Pam, the proprietor, was super friendly and helpful. Fresh flowers were there when we arrived, and she provided a midweek fresh bunch of lavender! She also offered fresh towels and ice on a regular basis. Thanks, Pam. We will definitely return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
