137 Evian is a peaceful, comfortable, and pet-friendly vacation rental property located in the Shipyard Plantation on Hilton Head Island. For pet owners who hate having to put the family pet in a kennel during the family vacation, renting a pet-friendly condo by the beach is certainly a win-win for everybody - people and pet.
This is a 2-bedroom, 1st floor, end-unit within the Evian complex, one of the prettiest complexes on the island. From the back patio, there is a lovely wooded view. That combined with the holly bush planted just beyond the patio, creates a bird haven for bird-watchers. (We have in the past been visited by owls.)
Just behind the shrubbery lies the fairway of the second hole of the Shipyard Golf Club's Brigantine course. Yet there's plenty of privacy. They won't see you having an al fresco breakfast in your sleep-T.
The Evian complex has several tennis courts available on a first-com-first-serve basis, a community pool, and walking trails (great for the morning runs and morning dog walks.)
This property used to be our home away from home, and we stockpiled it with many of the usual comforts of home - books, CD player, blender, high-speed Wifi, cable TV. (Yes, we know you're supposed to disconnect when you're on vacation, but....)
The condo is approximately a 10-minute walk or 5-minute bike ride to the beach accessed at the Shipyard Beach Club. We rode bikes to the beach, especially during the summer months when parking is hard to come by. For guests who want to try to park at the beach however, we provide a parking pass that enables you to do so.
Dogs are allowed on the beach year round, BUT during the summer months that is restricted to certain times of the day. Signs are posted at the beach that provide the specifics. You can be fined for sneaking your dog onto the beach when they're not supposed to be there, so it really is best to not try to run that gauntlet.
With all the bike trails in Shipyard and along the main arteries of the island, cycling is a great way to get around. Within an easy ride you can pick up supplies at the supermarket, rent videos, play a game of miniature golf, and get an ice cream.
The golf facilities on the island are, of course, excellent, and there are plenty of them. That being said, there are many, many other ways of wonderfully passing the time: sunset catamaran cruises, kayak into the creeks for dolphin spotting, fishing in the lagoons, etc. The island also has a really good array of restaurants, from Malaysian curries to French fine dining.
Fine Print Items:
Summer Rentals are Saturday - Friday (checkout Saturday by 10 a.m.). During the other seasons, check-in/check-out days are flexible.
A 40% deposit is required to hold a reservation. This deposit must be made by check or credit card within two weeks of receiving the rental agreement which is forwarded to you by our property management company.
Our management company provides keys and coupon booklets, handles payments and service calls, and makes sure the property is in top working order.
Credit cards accepted but please be advised that our management company charges a 3% fee for doing so.
Please note that bath towels and bed linens are provided, but beach towels (or dog towels) are not.
