Heritage House is a superb, five star, wonderfully bright, luxurious and comfortable lakefront Mountain Chalet, perfectly located at Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.
This executive residence was planned and appointed to accommodate skiers, golfers and summer lovers in comfort, luxury and large private spaces. It is located in the peaceful forest of the 'Villa des Bois' development at Lac Dufour / Lac Forget, only a short drive from the quaint shops and restaurants of St-Jovite (5 minutes), several golf courses, and the combined skiing capital of Mont-Tremblant and Mont Blanc. Close to the action ... yet in a world of its own.
The Chalet is rented directly by its owners, thus assuring quality and reasonable prices.
It is nestled high in the secluded hills of 'Villa des Bois', on 1.6 acres of private forest. The home is 2,500 square feet of modern, open spaces, cathedral ceilings, and 'walls of glass' where you may bask in sunshine (or in moonlight), all year round, while taking in the stunning view and the mature trees all around.
It has 4 very large bedrooms, 3 full washrooms (1 ensuite), 6 outside decks and a huge screened-in porch. It is fully equipped to receive 8 adults very comfortably.
The main entrance is warm and inviting. It leads to the stunning living room with its huge cascading windows, warm Napoleon fireplace, antique furniture, original art, cozy leather couches, library and wing back chair. The living room is such, we are told, that no photo can appropriately describe the sensation. It has to be experienced first hand.
The dining room is large and the table expands to easily accommodate an entire group of guests. It gives onto a large deck and the screened porch, where you may BBQ to your heart's content all year round, amidst the nature! The kitchen is bright and fully equipped, Lagustina pots, pans and all the large and small appliances you would expect. We provide the kitchen staples so that you can enjoy your holidays, instead of having to run around town: spices, sugar, flour, Soya sauce, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, etc,... not to mention the kitchen sink!
There are 2 large bedrooms on the main floor, one with a queen bed, the other with a king, plus 2 full bathrooms (bath & shower - one ensuite). All bedrooms have down duvets and pillows; all linens are provided.
Up to the cozy loft, and admire the magnificent view of the lake from the 2 twin beds.
The oversized family room is on the lower level, with its 9 foot ceiling, relaxing furniture, digital cable reception with large screen TV, DVR, BR player, computer, printer, fax and yet another wood burning fireplace. The patio door walk-out leads to a colorful wild flower garden, more decks and the romantic pathway to the lake, through the woods. The fourth bedroom, also on the lower level, occupies an entire wing of the house and is practically an apartment on its own, along with the third full washroom and adjacent laundry facilities. This "bedroom wing" also has a crib and a separate (third) single bed, to accommodate unrelated guest.
Can't leave the office behind? Relax! We have Wi-Fi high speed internet throughout the property and a full office setup on the lower level. In addition, our VOIP telephones allow you to call home, or anywhere in North America, for free!
THE BEACH: (AKA as 'The rock')
Enjoy, your own private bedrock beach, flowing into the pristine waters of Lac Forget, or read your favorite book a few steps back, under the shade of a 160 year old jack pine. The key words here are: 'PRIVACY' and 'SOLITUDE'. From the beach head which is a point advancing into the lake, everything around is natural forest: the neighbours are nowhere to be seen. We also have a large floating raft, 20 feet into the lake, for swimming. Motor boats are not permitted on the lake. It just doesn't get better than this...
Villa des Bois is a small, controlled development in an exquisite, natural, mountain setting. We are approximately an hour and a half drive north of Montreal (Quebec), from either Pierre E.Trudeau International Airport, or from Mirabel Airport, 30 minutes from La Makaza local airport.
Shopping is pure fun in the village of St-Jovite or in the original village of Mont Tremblant. Music festivals and sports events are frequenlty held at the mountain or the surrounding Mont-Tremblant area. Among them the 24 hour ski marathon, the 'Blues Fest' in July, the Canada Day festivities, the car races and world kart chapionship at Le Circuit and the Ironman event in August, have all become world class attractions.
Of course, winter time include world class downhill skiing and snowboarding at the local ski resorts (Tremblant, Mont Blanc) located in the immediate area, all within a twelve minute drive from the chalet.
A few steps from our door and you can be snowshoeing in the woods or cross-country skiing around the lakes and trails.
In the summertime our area transforms into a recreational paradise for golfers (8 golf courses within 20 minutes drive! ), horseback riding, bicycling, mountain climbing, hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, and of course, swimming or,... just sitting around listening to the birds and enjoying the clean alpine environment and serenity.
You may especially not want to miss our Canadian maples turn into a folly of colors in the fall, or taste its sweet syrup at the sugar shacks in spring.

About the owner: This chalet is owned by Jacques Berthiaume and is operated directly by him and his wife, Beth Williams. Jacques and Beth were born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, and currently live in Aylmer, Quebec, across the river from Ottawa. They have two fantastic daughters. Jacques is an attorney with his own law firm in Gatineau, Quebec, and has been a member of the Bar of the province of Quebec since 1985. His hobbies and interests include traveling, computing and marshalling at various racing events including F1, Nascar, CTCC, legends etc. Jacques is fully bilingual (French and English). Beth worked in the 'high tech' environment, as office manager for a large consulting firm in Ottawa. Her passions include gardening, cooking and traveling. It was our travel experience around the world which prompted us to offer to travelers, the very ingredients that create satisfying and memorable holidays: An immaculate waterfront property with only 5 star reviews, fully equipped, located in a priceless, quiet and natural environment, just minutes from the attractions and all the action. Beth had a keen sense for hot and interesting travel destinations. She identified Mont-Tremblant and the Villa des Bois area, as such, in the late 90's. 'Heritage House' (north) as we call it, was custom built by us, as a Y2K project, on the prime lakefront lot of the Villa des Bois project, in Mont-Tremblant. It is one of two rental properties we own in Mont-Tremblant, and built specifically to accommodate up to 8 travelers, with total care and comfort. As for Mont-Tremblant itself, it has so much to offer, the most difficult part is... having to leave.

All we can say, is that in our 14 years of rental, we have never received anything less than top rate reviews from our guests, on every aspect of their experience. .We would not be renting, if it was any other way. 3) Price: Oddly, we have been told, repetitively (by some very honest guests!) that our prices are far below comparable properties. Well, we thinks that's fine. While we feel we are receiving a fair return on our investment, we also feel that, unfortunately, many others are over-exploiting the area travelers. Don't let our prices mislead you!
