We invite you to a vacation retreat the likes of which you won't see anywhere else. These 2 cottages have been in our family for 5 generations and now we look forward to sharing them with you. Watch the sunset from the beach or on one of the porchs. Enjoy the advantages of having 2 cottages and 2 kitchens. The beauty of knotty pine throughout gives the feeling of a true vacation retreat.
The large cottage is called 'Twix Pines'(amongst the pines) . It has 2 bedrooms with double beds and a third bedroom with bunk beds. Laundry is located on the second floor. The living room has a couch that opens to a queen size bed. The porch is spacious enough to accomodate dining plus an area that includes chairs and a plush futon. Plan to spend plenty of time here eating, relaxing and playing games late into the night.
The second 'honeymooner' cottage we call JaTo (J-toe) after our father and uncle. It is a favorite with everyone. It has one bedroom with a double bed. The cozy kitchen and living area is bright and fully equipped. The couch folds out to a queen size bed. French doors leading to the porch provide privacy for relaxing or sleeping on the futon while listening to the lapping of the waves below you.
The huge 450 feet of private beach front means lots of room for relaxation and entertaining or playing a game of horseshoes. There's a firepit for all to gather at in the evenings. If you're staying on Labor Day weekend get some flares and enjoy the 'Ring of Fire' with all the other 'lakers'.
Cross the gully bridge on the beach and pitch a tent for camping fun. There are 2 rowboats and 2 kayaks for your fishing and paddling pleasure. Walk across the road and you can hike 83 acres of trails, have a scavenger hunt or try to find the crumbling foundation of the original farmhouse. Climb up the gully and look for salamanders. If you want to rough it pitch a tent in the clearing. (camp fires on the beach only) or have a picnic on the massive rock slab table.
We're sure you will create treasured memories and we hope you become a part of our extended family by making Twix Pines a family tradition.

We rented this cottage as a place for all of our New York family and friends to get together and relax. It was perfect. We boated over from the harbor and noticed right away it has one of the very nicest beaches on the entire shore. The house was so gorgeous, antiques and special touches. Another important thing we noticed is that the sun hits this beach during the perfect time- we wouldn't have know to look for that. We have a new baby and found everything to be secluded and quiet enough for long sleeps and we kept our windows open and listened to the lake at night. Days were spent innertubing behind the boat, swimming off the dock and wine tasting, evenings with a campfire on the beach..this was a fantastic location for all of that. We loved the feel of the home- very New York lakeside..and the owners were great. We highly recommend this lovely set of cottages to anyone looking to relax...the lake water was crystal clear and perfect.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful time at Twix Pines the weekend after Labor Day 2011!! The weather wasn't perfect (rain one day) but the beach just fabulous! The beach and ease in getting to the lake for our older family members was a major draw, along with space for over 10 people between the two cottages. The cottages are very homey and we spent much time eating and playing games on the sun porch of the larger cottage. There was plenty of room for our 20 foot boat on the dock and the truck and trailer in the parking area across the street.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

I invited my extended family to join us for a long Labor Day weekend at Twix Pines for my 40th birthday. We all had a wonderful time! The property is lovely, and very well cared for. You can see the details built into these two cottages over the years. The fully operational antique windows in particular really caught my eye! We had a plenty of room for one pair of grandparents, three adult children and their spouses, 5 kids aged 7 - 12, and one big dog. Plenty of privacy, yet also plenty of places to be together. We could all sit down for meals on the porch at once.Grills worked well. The beach and landscaping is really lovely and private. We felt like we were alone the entire weekend until we took a boat ride and saw how many people there really are on this lake! Campfires every night, too! Definitely bring water shoes -- it's a pebbly beach (no sand), so you need them on the beach and as you walk into the water. There's also a little bit of seaweed off the beach, but you can swim right over it. I would definitely come back!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

I celebrated 'a big birthday' at this property and rented both cottages because we expected people to drift in as they may. Everyone immediately fell in love with the place. The lakefront was much better than I expected and is a huge bonus - better than any other property in the area. We had several small children and the ability to wade in or launch yourself off the dock was a real treat. The cottages were equipped for a large group; plenty of silverware, plates, pots/pans etc., that went straight into the dishwasher. The charm of the cabins made everyone feel at home and relaxed right away, setting the tone that this was going to be a low-key, low-stress week. I don't understand the complete LACK of mosquitos, but it was astonishing. I don't think anyone wore repellent, even at dusk! Miraculous. The weather was spectacular (end of July) and the lake temperature was perfect. You could stay in for hours. The cottages did get a little warm when the breeze died at dusk, but there are fans to keep it moving, and the porches had tons of windows and screens that worked! We didn't need them, but there were lots of games and lots of space to play them. Cell phone reception was good, the (open) wireless internet service was excellent for the little that we needed it, and we never used the TV. I didn't think of it at the time, but the availability of parking at this property greatly exceeded the other properties in the area. One afternoon we had 6 cars (I think) with no problem. There are a few steps from the cottages to the lake, so it's not the best for really mobility-impaired people, but my elderly mother made it down to beach. The small cottage has a nice floorplan all on one level, with just a few steps to get from the parking to the cottage. It also has a great view of the beach and dock. The cottages were clean, everything worked, the owners were completely open and responsive during the rental arrangements - I've never met them but want to invite them to my next birthday party - they were that nice. My whole party gave the place two enthusiastic thumbs UP!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1937
About the owner: We are a multi generational family who are scattered coast to coast. On the west coast we have families in Portland, OR and on the east coast families in Rochester and Syracuse NY.
Why the Owner Chose Keuka Park:
Our grandparents bought Twix Pines during the Depression when cottages were few and far between. They added JaTo, named after our father and uncle, after WW II so they would have a special place of their own. They loved the beauty and peace of Keuka lake. They enjoyed all the seasons with hunting, fishing and summers spent relaxing and entertaining.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
West Bluff Dr. is quiet and very pedestrian friendly. People enjoy walks with the family and bike riding. There are many activities to enjoy in the surrounding area from golfing or playing a game of tennis at picturesque Keuka College to antiquing, visiting the Windmill Farmers Market or touring the many wineries. Choose a lakeside restaurant or take a cruise on the Esperanza Rose and then up the hill to dine at the historic Esperanza mansion which overlooks the lake.
