My friend and I came to Sea island for a week of rest and relaxation! Upon entering the front door, we viewed a cottage that exceeded all of our expectations. I felt as if I was walking into a magazine spread . It was obvious that the owners furnished this home for their own use. The house is extremely well maintained and just beautiful. The beds were soo comfortable, and there were plenty of seating areas... Even though there were only two of us on this trip, we could have easily brought several more of our friends and still had plenty of room and privacy in the house. We were blessed with gorgeous weather during the week and were able to enjoy the lovely pool in the backyard. We also found time to bike to the spa which is only a few blocks away. The Cloister spa was fabulous and the services were wonderful.. Loved our time here, and can't wait to recommend this cottage to family and friends! P.s.. The owner was lovely in replying to a question I had and immediately took care of it..Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent a week here with our daughter, son-in-law and 3 little boys. It was wonderful-everything was as advertized. The house is spacious- our 2 older grandsons who share a room at home had fun sleeping in every bed. The baby didn't know the difference. It is a short- maybe 5 minute walk to the beach and a little longer to the beach club. We spent the afternoons at the pool at the house while the baby napped. It was a perefct arrangement. One night we woke the big boys for a night swim. We had a ball and would do it again. Another plus- the owner is a pleasure to deal with.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family stayed at this cottage (home) for a wedding event and found it to be wonderful. ALL bedrooms are large and spacious. The kichen/den area was open and we spent most of our time at the house in this area. The layout of the house provides 2 wonderful areas for entertaining if you have 2 groups that want to do 2 different things. The back yard with a beautiful swimming pool was great. The house overall is in terrific condition and in a great location. The owner was very gracious and very responsive. We could not have had a betterplace to spend our time at Sea Island.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Don, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We certainly hope you will come back and stay with us again. We love return renters! Best, Nancy

My family and I decided to take a last minute trip to Sea Island for Spring Break and so after searching VRBO we were very lucky to be able to obtain a last minute reservation for a week's stay at Dutch Treat. The home was just coming off of some upgrades, which was the only reason it was available, and the owner got right back to me and was just a pleasure to deal with. The whole transaction was as pleasant and smooth as it could be. The home itself is just lovely and as comfortable as can be, with a beautiful large kitchen and keeping room, with a large Flat Screen TV that was definitely the favorite of my two teen age kids. The rest of the house is just immaculate, with large rooms, wonderfully decorated and plenty of room to spread out and relax. The back yard is very private with a wonderful walk out patio and a beautiful pool. Best of all, the location of the house is just superb, being just about 5 or 6 blocks from the Beach Club, the Cloister and the Spa facilities. We found it just so easy to go back and forth from the house to the resort and back any time we wanted, which was ideal if you have kids. The house is a very short walk from the beach as well, and it has all of the amenities you need such as bikes, fishing gear, etc. to enjoy everything Sea Island has to offer. I can't recommend Dutch Treat enough to anyone looking for a cottage at Sea Island. We had a great stay there, and we could not have found a better place or location.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Wow! Your review is most appreciated and we were thrilled that we could work things out to get that last minute spring break vacation for you! Thank you for letting our future renters know that you approved!

Last summer my daughter-in-laws, grandchildren, and I had an opportunity to visit Sea Island before school started. We were lucky enough to find Dutch Treat! Because we had to travel with small children, we were overwhelmed worrying about all the "equipment" necessary for their needs! When we arrived at Dutch Treat we were surprised to find car seats, small cribs, with sheets, blankets, toys and even sippi cups! There was even a little cart to carry all our beach toys down to the water's edge. The owner provided lots of information about shopping, sight seeing, and restaurants. She even had recommendations for her favorite hair salon and baby sitters! Dutch Treat was everything it was described to be and more! And the best part, we have already booked our trip for next year!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed here for week with 2 families totaling 6 adults and 5 children, ages 4-8. We had a spectacular time. We were there in the first week of October and, at times, it seemed like we had the entire beach to ourselves. The cottage is ~100 yards from the beach and ½ mile from the Beach Club. The house is extremely well-built and has been well maintained. The owner was very accommodating, particularly with obtaining the guest cards that are required to use the resort facilities and amenities. We also received plenty of recommendations for activities in St. Simon's Island, too. We did not have any complications during our stay. My only regret is that sooner or later word will spread and someone else will book this cottage before we can.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Lucky enough to have visited Sea Island many times and fortunate to have rented this cottage with family and friends. The home is comfortable, spacious, and it's many amenities provided everything as purported in this listing. The beach is close and the Cloister is a short walk from Dutch Treat. I have no reservations or concerns about renting this property in the future. The owner answered all my questions promptly and if there were any concerns, they were settled in advance of my stay. My family and I look forward to returning to Sea Island and renting the same cottage for our next visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed 4 days at Dutch's treat and wished I could have stayed much longer . The house is delightfully decorated , warm and inviting surrounded by palm trees and beautiful live oaks . Being from a big city I especially appreciated the calm and quiet evenings and mornings . Everything you might need is available nearby less than 10 minutes by car . The house is very clean , the kitchen well equipped and the master bedrooms are large and very comfortable . In one word I simply loved it and will come back for a longer stay as soon as I can .Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
