Welcome to Vail! Our cozy condo is located in the South (main) building of the Lion Square Lodge, which is directly beside the Eagle Bahn Gondola at Lions Head. We feel that the resort is one of the best locations in Vail for ski in/ski out as well as great shopping and dining diversity. See Lion Square Lodge's website to view a map of just how close we are to the gondola and Gore Creek (and the Gore Creek bike path)!
The bedroom is equipped with a queen-size bed and full closet. Additional sleeping space is provided by a full-size futon in the living room. Two adults or a small family can share this 500 square-foot condo comfortably. Although we’ve slept four adults between the bed and the futon, guests may feel a little crowded with such an arrangement unless they are already great friends.
Although there is no view from our living room or bedroom windows (we are at basement level), a quick walk up the stairs or an elevator ride to the floor above provides access to a balcony that overlooks Vail Mountain. You can enjoy coffee, tea or hot chocolate while watching the gondola go up and the skiers come down the mountain as well as keep an eye on the hot tubs and pool. Feel free to spread out to the leather couches in the lobby. The Mezzaluna restaurant and bar (also located one floor above our condo) boasts "eclectic, cutting-edge cuisine." Enjoy great apres-ski specials or an extraordinary dinner without putting on your coat! In addition to the two incredible outdoor hot tubs and outdoor heated pool surrounded by gorgeous mountain views, the resort offers an indoor sauna and changing rooms - all located one floor below our condo.
Further amenities provided by Lion Square Lodge include covered parking, DSL internet access in the lobby, public restrooms and additional shower located in changing room, concierge, ski storage, bike racks, coin operated washing machines and dryers (in the hallway outside our unit) and public phones. Katherine & Dennis - Thanks so much for the opportunity to stay at your condo. We really enjoyed the place and the overall property at Lions Square with the pool and hot tub! We have recommended VRBO and your place to as many people as we can since our experience was so great.
Owner response:Thanks for your review Pete and your references. My favorite thing to do at Lion Square Lodge is to sit in the hot tub, too! I also love being able to park my car in the garage and not have to use it the entire time I'm at the condo. Being able to take a short walk or shuttle ride to anywhere I want to go is such a stress reliever. Please consider us again for your future trips to Vail.
