This is an amazing opportunity to be in real Mexico with all the beauty and comfort one would want. The home is surrounded by a ten-foot high stone wall covered with bougainvillea and the property has plumaria, avacado, grapefruit, tangerine, banana, guava, orange,guava, lemon, and lime trees. The property is fully enclosed and safe and totally secure for your pets.
We now have high speed wifi internet access at the home, and a hi-def 22in. flat panel DVD player in the master bedroom.
Also, dozens of roses, birds of paradise, and others too numerous to mention. We go often to the home, but are flexible as to time. Housekeeper and gardener are long time employees who are very friendly and very helpful.
This vacation rental home is just fifteen minutes from Ajijic, where there are numerous restaurants, shopping, medical facilities, and art centers (Mexican crafts are everywhere), and the Guadalajara Airport is just 40 minutes to the north.
The town of Jocotepec has local markets (with all fresh produce) every day and large markets twice a week. Jocotepec has numerous fine shops and restaurants, some with the local specialty called "Berreria," a unique goat stew. The home is a short 3 block walk to the center of town.

We stayed at this home for 10 days in November, 2010. It truly is a garden of Eden! Very tasteful decorating, interesting artwork and masks, lovely outdoor and indoor settings for lounging, playing games, visiting, or dining. The gurgling fountain in the center of the yard, church bells, and local celebrations provide a wonderful foreign sound track to the experience of the home. Jocotepec is a true Mexican town with virtually no tourism and few ex-pats. Come prepared to walk the cobblestone streets to downtown and pick up fresh fish from the lake, chickens, beef, and a cornucopia of fresh local produce each morning. Cooking is a joy in the well-equipped kitchen. The 2 resident cats kept us from being too homesick for our own pets.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
