Our stay was memorable at this wonderful casita. The location was perfect! Everything was as stated in the description and the unit was clean and well appointed. We have no reservations recommending the property. The area is perfect for active individuals with nearby restaurants that offer positive dining experiences. Having a car is a must in order to explore the area fully.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This studio was absolutely perfect! You are close to town/restaurants (try Jeannine's), close to the beach, close to hiking, and close to wineries! The owner's were fantastic too - they will offer travel advice but are definitely not intrusive on your vacation. The bed was extremely comfortable too! I wish we had more time here because it was definitely my favorite spot of our vacation. Will definitely be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this studio for 2 nights in July, as we were guests at a wedding at the Biltmore. The studio was literally 3 blocks (walking distance) to the wedding and butterfly beach, and 2 blocks to the quaint town of Montecito. Pamela was so thoughtful to even have a flashlight for us to have in our bag for the walk back at night! Prior to the wedding we enjoyed breakfast in town, and had my hair done (also in Montecito). Couldn’t have asked for a better location. I walked everywhere! The studio was immaculate, and we felt like we were at home...it was so cozy!Recommended for: Romantic getaway

Roomy efficiency. Friendly, but not intrusive, hosts. Quiet...traffic noise not a problem. Nice location...away from the bustle of Santa Barbara. Beautiful beach 5 minutes away. Great coffee shop/casual restaurant (Jeannine's) close by. Nice, casual bike riding. Pleasant day trip to Fess Parker's winery. What else could you want? Already planning our trip to "Hidden Treasure" next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We will stay here again -- it was absolutely perfect -- plenty of space, incredibly comfortable bed, nice short walk to beach & main strip in Montecito, close driving to Santa Barbara, great little kitchenette and multiple grocery options. Hosts were SUPER cool - very laid back and super helpful. My experience has been that much of the Santa Barbara area lodging is overpriced and glorified strip motels. So glad that on this visit I avoided risking a less than stellar accommodation, and instead chose Baja Montecito Casita. Such amazing value for its price. No, there is no free continental breakfast, but so what when the famous Jeannine's Bakery and Montecito Cafe are two blocks away. The casita does have a kitchenette-- perfect for refrigerating and heating up leftovers, making coffee and tea, and cooling wine purchased at the nearby wine shop. A peaceful, refreshing retreat that couldn't be cleaner or more exotic island beachy with its bamboo furniture, clay flooring, flower and succulent-galore garden to this landlocked mountain resident. I almost didn't want to leave the casita and its private setting, but so glad I did to walk to the nearby Butterfly Beach, the Biltmore, and Montecito village. Then later to visit the Botanic Garden, shop on State Street, eat the best cupcakes I've ever had at Crush Cakes, and see the amazing architecture and panoramic view at the courthouse. The proprietors' care and love for their property is evident in every single detail, down to the abundance of lush and happy plants in the courtyard to the sea glass reflecting the sun in the window. They've thought of just about everything, even beach towels, chairs, and umbrella. Pam and Eric were friendly, warm and welcoming, always helpful, yet unobtrusive.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the studio. Very private, quiet and wonderful cottage overall. We loved walking to the beach and appreciated the beach chairs and towels provided. The property was an easy five minute walk to the main street in Montecito where we found coffee, breakfast or a newspaper. We have already passed on property details to two other friends! We had a great time at our stay at this studio, which actually had some improvements you don't see in the pics. We were there to go to an outdoor concert, and rain was in the forecast, the owners happily volunteered and loaned us their ponchos to use for the evening! Also left a complimentary bag of SB pistachios and some bottled water. Highly recommend this rental!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I had the opportunity to stay at this wonderful place. If you love a low key spot, that is quit and private, but close to the beach and downtown Montecito this is the place for you. 5 min walk from the 4 Seasons, 5 min walk to Downtown. My wife and I would catch the bus and ride to downtown Santa Barbara, have a few cocktails and take to bus back. We never ran out of things to do, and when you do go to the beach an have a Cocktail! The room is comfortable, with a fridge, and really feels like a wonderful suite at the Hotel without someone above you making a bunch of noise. Can wait until we can go again. Thanks again Pam and Eric.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I think they meant in the second to last sentence - Can't wait until we can go again instead of Can. Can you change that? Thanks so much. Pamela Arneson

What a wonderful casita in Montecito! I actually have been lucky enough to stay at the Baja Montecito Casita twice this winter and I can't say enough great things about it! There is definitely pride of ownership and love that goes into making you feel comfortable while you're there. I truly felt like I was staying with friends that I've known for a long time. The casita was the perfect size for my husband and me. Also, there is easy street parking and if you don't have a car, you are so close to everything - Lower Village with all of the shops and restaurants and a quick walk to the beach! Amazing! We can't wait to come back for a visit! Thank you so much for your hospitality!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed this past weekend in the cute and cozy casita that Eric and Pam provided for us. We were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. The place was clean, comfortable and just enough space to spread out your stuff and like it was your own. The location was absolutely ideal for us! It was within walking distance to butterfly beach which is such a stunning little beach. I spent half the day wondering through the tide pools with the warm sunshine on my back. The Biltmore is within walking distance as well. We shared a lovely drink on the patio with the warm Santa Barbara air at our backs. The unit was stocked with a fridge, coffee maker, an extra heater and extra towels if you needed them. Although we were busy enjoying ourselves outdoors for most of the weekend, we had a wonderful and restful time at the casita. We will definitely be back when we return again. Thanks Pam and Eric for the great stay and for all the great recommendations for food, yoga and getting around town.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My husband and I spent a week in Santa Barbara/Montecito at the Baja Montecito Casita from December 24, 2011-January 1, 2012. We had visited Santa Barbara before but this was the perfect location for a relaxing week. We arrived in the evening on Christmas Eve and the owners, Pam and Eric, met us and gave us a tour. There were gifts for us and Pam had made a list of restaurants that were open during the holidays. They are so wonderful, hospitable and welcoming. We are frequent VRBO-ers but our experience in Montecito was the best yet!! The Casita itself is charming and very private. It is a well-designed space which was both large enough for us and very comfortable. It certainly met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. The Casita is beautifully furnished – with a fabulous bed for comfortable sleeping – and a great TV. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with amenities for us. We never felt we lacked for anything! Pam and Eric provided plenty of information on the area and its many attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed Santa Barbara – the weather during our stay was perfect and it felt like visiting the Garden of Eden. Downtown Santa Barbara is full of interesting shopping, restaurants and movie theaters. We spent a day in the Santa Ynez Valley and a day in Ojai. We also went to the Channel Islands National Park by boat with Island Packers in Ventura. We were able to see whales and dolphins en route to Santa Cruz Island. It was a perfect week for exploring and relaxing in a beautiful place. The Casita is within walking distance to great restaurants and shops on the Coast Village Road. Our favorite restaurant was Jeannine’s Bakery for breakfast which is an easy stroll. It has amazing food and great coffee – and it’s good for celebrity spotting! (That is, if you can tear yourself away from whatever is on your plate!) We also ate at Cava, an upscale Latin American restaurant on the Coast Village Road and the food was fresh and delicious. Eric recommended the Boathouse on Hendry’s Beach where we enjoyed a great dinner. We returned there for breakfast and for the beautiful beach. Everyone we met was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and I would recommend Baja Montecito Casita to everyone. I highly recommend this property for its comfort, charm, great location – and especially the gracious owners.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful, quaint casita during our visit to Santa Barbara for a wedding. I was impressed with Pamela before we even arrived. Her reply to my inquiry was prompt and equally friendly, making for a smooth and pleasant reservation process (and I can assure you that has not always been my experience with similar arrangements). It's also very nice to find a place willing to book a two night minimum. The location is perfect...walking distance to fabulous restaurants, shops, and the beach. They have thought of everything to ensure your stay is relaxing, comfortable, and fun. From a collection of helpful tourist info to personal recommendations from Pamela, you're sure to have a great time. The bed is comfy and the house is immaculate. All the essentials are provided, as well as some nice perks! We were genuinely impressed and would definitely visit again. We will certainly share our positive experience with friends and family. Stay here and you won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I am on the road a lot for business & recently I had to be in San Francisco, then 3 days later Los Angeles. I was trying to find a charming place in the Santa Barbara area for the weekend to have some rest & relaxation. A friend had been raving about a charming casita in Montecito. It was the perfect solution, I could walk to the beach as well as walk to the charming village of Montecito. The casita is very comfortable & immaculate, with a private patio & entrance. The bed was perfect, 2 wonderful nights rest. I can't say enough about my relaxing, rejuvinating visit...Many thanks Pam & Eric, I am now recommending your relaxing spot to all my friends!!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Pam and Eric truly share a piece of paradise at their cottage hideaway in Montecito. This charming, quiet neighborhood was strolling distance to the beach, quaint Montecito and close distance to the art walk along the beach of Santa Barbara. I was thrilled to find such a secure haven to be able to "base" out of while meeting up with friends during a "girls getaway" weekend. Pam and Eric are absolute experts on the Montecito/Santa Barbara area, and gave me fabulous tips on activities to do with my friends. All the recommended dining was outstanding, gelato included, as us girls had fun reminiscing and exploring new venues. I got tips on sea glass hunting, art, live music, best times to miss crowds at local restaurants... I sounded like the expert tour guide for my girlfriends!! This cottage was spotlessly clean. The yard was landscaped in such a way as to give excellent privacy and quiet. I enjoyed walking to "downtown" Montecito as well as to the beach.. Easy freeway access made exploring Santa Barbara a snap! I have already recommended this hideaway to other single friends and couples.. I can't wait to include my husband on my next trip to this wonderful spot!! Pam and Eric's hospitality and cottage getaway certainly lived up to all my hopes and expectations for the weekend!! The girlfriends were jealous of my quiet beach haven!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I know Santa Barbara very well. We've sometimes stayed with friends or family or in a hotel but this time we decided to do something a little differently - thus Baja Montecito Casita!!! We were so happy when we arrived! We knew the location very well and once we talked to Pam & Eric-we knew it would be perfect! Being close to restaurants and the beach was a plus but to be central to everything that we needed to do to see friends was such a plus for us. Although our time was short we came away more relaxed than usual and even got in a walk at the beach one morning. We will definitely by back and hopefully for a longer time. It was perfect and anyone that stays will not be disappointed! Thank you Pam & Eric Don & Maureen Faulkner Shady Cove, ORRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I wanted to get away for a romantic weekend in Santa Barbara. We found the ideal place. This little casita is perfect for two. It has all the amenities to make you feel at home. A walk through a private entrance welcomes you with a small enclosed outdoor patio ideal for enjoying a morning cup of joe. French doors lead you into the main room with vaulted ceilings, king size bed, kitchenette, and flat screen TV. A small dining area branches off the main room. A nicely appointed bathroom is just right. The owners have thought of every detail to make your stay enjoyable. Many amenities provided are more likely to be found in a nice bed and breakfast than a vacation rental. In addition the location is ideal. The quaint town of Montecito is just steps away in one direction and the beach a short walk in the other. This was far better than staying in a hotel. The owners were gracious and inconspicuous during our stay. This was the perfect romantic hideaway!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My fiance' and I went to be married in Santa Barbara and chose Baja Montecito Casita as our honeymoon cottage. It was perfect. I kept saying how happy I was that we hadn't ended up in any of the hotels from the Biltmore to San Ysidro Ranch....it just wouldn't have been as cozy and personal. Pam and Eric were awesome! Celebrating their anniversary on the same day as our wedding was a cool co-incidence. They were so pleasant and helpful while giving us all the privacy we wanted. I will stay here everytime I go back. The pictures could be better. I had some misgivings originally based on the pictures, but it is so much cuter than the pictures show. Perfectly clean and nice little touches like a library full of books and magazines. Great tv. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the cottage during Fiesta in Santa Barbara and could not have found a more ideal place to stay! After seeing the crowded, confetti filled streets in downtown SB, we were so thankful to escape back to the cottage during the evening to relax. The cottage was simply picturesque with it's high wood beamed ceiling, french doors and natural light streaming in. Just a short walk to the beach and 5 minute drive up to some breathtaking hiking trails, we would LOVE to stay here again the next time we're in Santa Barbara. We just completed our stay at the charming Baja Montecito Casita. We found it to be sparkling clean and very inviting. The king sized bed was really comfortable. The shower was a little on the tight side, but the shower head made up for it (didn't want to get out). A train passed by a few times, but not at night (at least we didn't hear it). There is some road noise from the nearby freeway, but we didn't even notice it until we turned the heater off. We were visiting Westmont College, so the location was very convenient (also quick to downtown). Our schedule was quite busy, so we were only at the casita a couple of hours before bedtime and we left early the next morning. I would encourage you to plan to hang around more if you can, as it's a great spot to relax. Also, the beach is just a few blocks away! Next time we plan to take advantage of that.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding at the Four Seasons Biltmore. The location was really convenient and walkable to the hotel and also just as close to the beach. It was just the right size for the two of us and was very clean and well-maintained. We felt the accommodations were more than adequate, the decor cute and the amenities just what we needed for our stay and exactly as pictured in the listing. The studio offers privacy from the owners home which is adjoining by way of the garage. We met the owners in the driveway a few times and felt very welcome by them. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend this studio to friends and family in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Hidden Treasure The Baja Montecito Casita (cottage) is an absolute gem! It is located in the heart of Montecito, just two blocks from the world class Butterfly Beach (which is in front of the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel) and one block from the heart of Montecito and all of its wonderful restaurants. (including the not to be missed Whodidily Cupcakes!) The cottage is modern, tastefully decorated and clean as a whistle. The owners/caretakers were fantastic: extremely kind yet mindful of our privacy. The Baja Montecito Casita truly is a quiet, serene retreat; perfect therapy for the soul! We enjoyed it so much that we have already booked it for a return visit. If you are truly looking for a hidden treasure… this is the place.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

My husband and I spent one night at Baja Montecito Casita (BMC). It is cute, comfortable, pristine clean and has lots of amenities. Everything is new and spotless. The bed is great, the kitchenette really pretty, with bottled water in the refrigerator. Bags of pistachio nuts are set out on the table for guests. Coffee and tea are available. There is ample closet and drawer space. The bathroom is also all new, with lush towels. There is also a private patio with a table and chairs. BMC is walking distance to the beach, too. We found it to be quiet and relaxing. We hope to go back again and enjoy Baja Montecito Casita.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What's not to love - minutes walking to quaint downtown, the beach, restaurants and beautiful greenery. Cozy private quarters for any weather you may encounter. This is the real California small town beach bungalow experience. Can't wait to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
