Why the Owner Chose Amsterdam
The city of Amsterdam has one of the most important intact historical city centers in the world. The historical city centre is dominated by the famous canal houses, crowned by ornamented gable tops, that have been built as residences for the wealthy merchants and citizens. During the commercially successful Golden Age, late 1500 until late 1600, Amsterdam becomes the staple market of the world. The city gets the unique ring of canals and the characteristic appearance is established. The historical and monumental character of Amsterdam’s city centre is specially determined by the 1600th and 1700th century houses. But also Amsterdam’s warehouses are worth being mentioned here. Its architecture is unique in the world. The city contains around 6,700 historical monuments, has about 100 kilometers of canals and 400 stone bridges.
The Unique Benefits of this Studio

My wife and I found Ton and Hector very accommodating! The rooms we stayed in were immaculate and beautifully decorated! The location was ideal for exploring the museums and we were a short walk from public transportation to head into the heart of Amsterdam! When we venture back to Amsterdam, we will be sure to book with Prinx Studio!

Ton and Hector are wonderful hosts. The studio was quiet, clean and close to everything! The weather was wonderful and they had chairs for you to sit and relax canal side and watch the small crafts cruise by. I would highly recommend this location to my friends!

Modern, chic studios in the museum district, hosted by the lovely Ton & Hector. Get a room facing the canal if you can, for sunlit mornings and pretty views at night. Perfect location near the City Center, a block away from the museums, and a stroll to the open air markets. Wouldn't stay anywhere else when I'm back in the 'Dam.

We've been to Amsterdam several times over a period of 30 years, but this is the first time we've stayed a whole week. Because of that, we wanted somewhere with a bit more scope for relaxation than a standard hotel room. Prinx Apartments was certainly that. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed, plenty of cupboard space and an attractive sitting area with a dining table too. We looked over a quiet and pretty canal. The bathroom was small but adequate, and there was an excellent kitchen. I have to admit we only used this for breakfast, but it seemed to have everything you would need to cook an evening meal. The location was brilliant too - very close to Museumplein and Leidseplein, an area with loads of restaurants and bars. We could esily have eaten at a different restaurant for a mionth, but they were just far enough away not to disturb us at night. Particularly recommended are Mayur (indian - ranked 9 in Tripadvisor's Amsterdam restaurnats) and Onder Ons. Leidseplein also has a tourist office where you can buy tickest and I Amsterdam cards and several tram routes and the bus-stop for Schipol were close by. Ton gave us a friendly welcome and, a nice touch, left a bottle of cava in the fridge. There is free wifi. The only warning I would give is that it would not be suitable for those with mobility problems. It is a genuine canal house so, inevitably, the stairs are narrow and steep. Other than that - perfection!

“Excellent apartment!!! Excellent location!!!” | Trip type: Family | We are just back from a 1-week stay at the Prinx apartments. After searching all the available hotels and B&B's in Amsterdam we finally decided on Prinx studio. But, we were too late to confirm our stay and all the studios were booked before us... We were dissapointed but accepted Ton&Hector's offer to stay at the 1+1 apartment on Haarlemmerdijk Street. This was our first time in a vacation apartment instead of a 4-5 star hotel so, we didn't know what to expect. But, Ton was so nice and helpfull. As soon as we arrived in the apartment, we were so happy about our choice. The apartment is located on a very lively street with all the stores, restaurants, cafes and pubs. It is very close to the Central Station so it was very easy to get there from the airport by train. A great supermarket, Albert Heijn is right accross from the apartment. It is open daily 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. and offers all kinds of ready-to-eat food, fresh fruits and veggies, bakery. You should definitely try their freshly baked croissents for breakfast. The apartment is very spacious and has everything you will need. We were not planning to eat much at the apartment but because eating out was so expensive in Amsterdam and it was easier not to look for a place to eat with a two-years-old girl, we ended up having breakfasts and dinners at home. And we enjoyed it so much... Especially when feeling tired after daily sightseeing, we were looking forward to get back to the apartment, sitting by the window and having our drinks. Even our doughter loved it there so much, she didn't want to come back home!!! By the way, there were 1 set of towels for each person, two rolls of toilett papers, liquid hand wash and a hair dryer in the bathroom. But no shampoos, no shower gel or caps. But you can get them at the store called ETOS, 50 meters down from the apartment. I also ended up getting some napkins and paper towels for the kitchen and some cleaning stuff for the bathroom and toilett (from Albert Heijn). Also, we realized after settling in the apartment that there were no extra set of sheets. But, if you ask for it in advance, I'm sure it won't be a problem for Ton. After all, this was a great catch and we have already recommended it to our friends here. Looking forward to going bac

“Cute, clean, and comfortable” | Trip type: Couples | My wife and I recently stayed at the Prinx apartments for 1 week. We really loved it. In fact, we slept a lot more that we usually do because we felt so relaxed. The location is very central, close to museums, shopping, pubs and it is easy to walk everywhere. However, if you need to use the tram, it is also near by. The apartments were spotlessly clean. To me, this is very important and I was not at all disappointed. The room is a little small but I think rooms tend to be small in Amsterdam. It was great to have a kitchen. There is a grocery store 5 minutes away (Dirk Van Den Broek) and it is really a nice walk to get there. We didn't eat out a lot when we were there but if you do, Walk to Wok is close and very tasty and cheap. I would highly recommend these apartments as they are clean, in a good location, and private. We brought along our computer and it was a nice way to communicate with the owners if we needed anything. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone who wants affordable accomodations that are very nice.

“A perffect spot!” | Trip type: Couples | We booked our unit thru trip advisor, and were delighted! We wanted a central location, a quiet street,a kitchen, and on a canal. We got all four, and more! Our hosts were great before we even arrived, answering our e-mails immediately. They gave good directions, and even tho we arrived in the dark, the taxi had no problems. And tho we arrived two hours early, our apt. was ready and our hosts were there to welcome us. We loved ending our days having a beer at the little pub right on the corner, there was a grocery very close by, and bus lines minutes away. We could walk everywhere, tho we did rent bikes (a must). The apt. itself was spotless, cozy, and eveything we had hoped for. We never saw our hosts unless we needed something-then they were there immediately. We did suggest that they provide a map for guests with nearby grocery, and laundromat. I would also suggest asking how they want you to contact them, should you have a question. We found ourselves slipping notes under their door.

“Best place to stay!!” | Trip type: Couples | My husband and I were looking for a place to stay for a week in Amsterdam. We were looking at all the hotels but they were a little on the expensive side and we definitely did not want to end up in an expensive bad hotel. So because of the great reviews I decided to contact the owners of this apartment to see if they had an opening. They did and we booked for 7 days 6 nights. We stayed in the larger studio with a canal view. We contacted the owners completely by email. They called us to confirm everything. We were met promptly on arrival by Alan. Everything was perfect and clean. They gave us a great rate for staying extended. Alan was available by email or note to answer any questions we had. The studio is in a great location on a quiet canal street but within walking distance to all of the sites. The city centre is only a 15 minute walk away and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. If you stay longer than a few days you will need laundry service which can be found across the bridge and one street over. They also have grocery stores nearby. Also the studio has free Wifi which is a definite plus. The place was so perfect that we booked three extra nights on our return from Italy and we will be returning back here anytime we are coming for a visit to Amsterdam.
