Tanglewood Ranch
From its long ridge views to the streams that meander over two miles through woods and grasslands in rural southwest Wisconsin, this 700+ acre wild ranch offers everything. The diverse wildlife complement the facilities which include a beautiful Log Cabin Lodge, a fishing pond, numerous natural springs, hardwood woodlands, vibrant wildflowers, and tranquil streams. With access to a state recreational trail and sitting in the middle of the “Cycle Southwest Wisconsin” bike loops, Tanglewood offers the perfect location for many recreational endeavors throughout the year.
Our lodge overlooks a beautiful 3 acre pond featuring a fountain. It is a great area for Relaxing, Fishing - catch and release only - or Spending time with friends and family.

Boarders an elk farm. Listen to elk bugles from early September to Mid October and view them throughout the year.

4-wheelers or snowmobiles are welcome. The tri-state (Cheese Country) recreational trail borders one side of our property. Stickers for using the trail are required and vehicles must stay off all lawn areas please

Our family stayed at Tanglewood for a long weekend, hosting a "Cowboy Christmas" family reunion, and everything was absolutely terrific! Located in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, it was a good central location for all of us....Not to mention that Mineral Point has a slew of fun restaurants, shops and art galleries. The ten of us had plenty of room, both indoors and out, and marveled at the impeccable surroundings! The attention to detail by the owners is evident from the moment you enter the lodge, and is rarely found elsewhere. (An example: being two weeks before Christmas, the lodge was fully decorated for the holiday, and upon our arrival, the fireplaces were burning and music playing.) The entire property is done in the best of taste. We especially appreciated the log furniture, the whirlpool tub in the master bath and the two kitchens made meal preparation easy. We think that the wraparound porch would be spectacular in warmer weather. We were lucky enough to have plenty of snow for the event, so the kids (and even some of the adults) enjoyed marvelous sledding, right out the back door -- better than any toboggan slide! We walked much of the property on foot, coming across much wildlife along the way, and watched snowmobiles glide along the state trail, which runs along the border. You'll notice that we haven't even mentioned hunting in this summary -- well, we're not hunters, so that part of the experience was immaterial to us. We were looking for a getaway from the big city, and to spend time with family....we got all that and more! Kurt and Tammy have a real gem here, perfect for hunting (which we suspect is great), family gatherings, and even romantic getaways in the country! We'll be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I needed a short getaway and found Tanglewood to be the perfect spot. The cabin is immaculate, located on beautiful scenery, near fabulous Mineral Point. The cabin is completely modern with every convenience you can think of. We enjoyed hiking the land and enjoying peace and quiet during the day and a nice dinner in town with friendly locals at night. Thank you for a great place to stay. Looking forward to sharing it with friends next summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My husband and I entertained eight delighted guests at wonderful Tanglewood Lodge in mid-August. We noted that the listing description, photos, and ammenities were entirely accurate. The cleanliness and maintenence of the interior/exterior were superior. The owner offered his services with friendliness and professional attention. We rate this 4 seasons, exceptionally furnished, scenic 700 acre property, as excellent value and a 5+ star experience. In addition to recommending this property, especially for larger groups, we'll happily consider entertaining guests in the near future at Tanglewood Lodge.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Some of the wildlife that are frequently seen at the ranch include pheasant, whitetail deer, wild turkey, wild duck, geese, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, otter, coyote, red fox, fish, blue heron, mink, muskrat, and turtle. Due to the plentiful food sources, the skies showcase multiple species of raptors including hawks and bald eagles.
