It's been a long trip from home. Come on in. Explore this spacious, well-furnished executive home. Choose one of its four bedrooms in which to unpack, then relax downstairs in the Entertainment Room with music or the big screen. Or enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and share a meal at the dining table with the prime view of the valley. Or step out on the deck and take in a deep breath of the clean, crisp mountain air. The sky looks as if it will never end, and your mind can wander as it considers what stories the rock out-croppings could tell. You could sit on the deck for hours reading, visiting, enjoying your coffee or tea--or barbeque--or just watch the clouds pass.

This is the Southpark Lodge at Colorado Mountain Estates. There is something for everyone here: Visit the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, tour the Wolf Refuge, visit the Victor Mine. There's exploring, hiking, fishing, gold panning, jeep tours, fall color rides, wildlife (deer, elk, Colorado Bighorn) viewing, antiquing, touring the historical gold mines, visiting the active Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company and experiencing the truly breathtaking views of three of Colorado's mountain ranges -- and much more.

If you are ready to interact with Colorado, you are only a short jaunt to amazing hiking trails at the Florissant Fossil Beds, Mueller State Park, Crags and many fascinating mining district trails. You can take day trips for white water-rafting and relaxing hot springs, see the Royal Gorge, ski at Breckenridge or Monarch, or drive just 20 minutes to the famous mining town of Cripple Creek.

While in Cripple Creek you can learn more about the wonderful history of the largest gold camp in the world and visit the Pikes Peak Heritage Center, the Outlaw and Jailmen's Museum, the Molly Kathleen Mine or the District Museum. And you can take a narrow gauge railroad train ride, take guided or unguided mine tours, eat at great restaurants and shop at the cozy stores. There are live theater performances at the Butte Theater or you can partake in Colorado-style gambling.

Just up the road in Victor is the largest active gold mine in Colorado where you can drive to the American Eagle lookout and see three mountain ranges while watching the biggest machinery you've ever seen in 24-7 action, or take their very special guided tour and see it up close.

OR – It’s 25 minutes to Woodland Park, the “City Above the Clouds” and enjoy High-Altitude Golfing, the Dinosaur Resource Center for children of all ages, craft and art shows, antique shops, western clothing store, movie theater, three super-markets, restaurants, gift shops, movie rentals, hairdressers, massage therapy and fast food outlets.

OR - Continue North on Highway 67 to gold-medal fishing on the South Platte or go West to Eleven Mile Canyon for fishing or boating on the reservoir. World class four-wheeling, mountain biking and hiking are in the thousands of acres of National Forest that surround you.

AND - You won't want to miss a day trip to Colorado Springs to enjoy shopping in 'Old Colorado City,' a hike and/or picnic in Garden of the Gods, a tour of the USAF Academy and the US Olympic Center and Focus on the Family. Plus there’s Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and Manitou Springs--a destination in itself for shopping, enjoying the soda springs fountains, the parks, lunch or dinner at any of the exclusive restaurants, pubs or health food restaurants. You will pass by the access to Pikes Peak when descending the pass at Cascade. Take a morning to enjoy a trip up 14,110 feet--the inspiration for 'America the Beautiful'--and look for Kansas to the east!

ENJOY COLORADO!!

My family of 13 stayed here for a week in July. The house was large enough we were not on top of each other all the time. The location is quiet and beautiful. There are plenty of dishes and cooking equipment. Owner was very helpful with ideas for seeing all attractions in area. For the grandchildren that needed the internet, they had access all week. We visited the fossil beds, Pike's Peak and Wolf Center. All were great. We also biked down Pike's Peak. This was a great trip and we would do this again. The children in our group really enjoyed the Colorado Wolf Center. I recomend this location for a pleasant stay to either just relax or visit all the area attractions.

The Lodge was everything that you could ask for. Our family of 16 had plenty of room. We enjoyed the beautiful view and wildlife. It was close enough to all of the attractions, but far enough in the county to have peace and quite. The family enjoyed staying there. We would go back in a heart beat.

We chose this property for our annual "The End of Another Summer" vacation before corn harvest this year. We absolutely loved it!! We didn't do much but relax and this was the perfect place for it! It was quiet, lovely views, and a wonderful lodge. We plan to come back as soon as we can.

We visited Southpark Lodge in July and had a magnificent time. The house was perfect for our needs. The deck had breathtaking views and we enjoyed watching the deer walk through the yard. We also got to see the most amazing rainbow after an afternoon shower!!! The house had everything we needed. It was nice to have a bedroom and a step in shower upstairs for my grandfather, who is unable to do stairs. George and Lynn were super nice and easy to work with. They had tons of ideas for our stay and every moment was packed with fun. We had a group of people ranging in age from 3 to 83 and there was plenty for all to enjoy! The zoo in Colorado Springs is AMAZING and I would highly recommend it. Also we drove up to Cripple Creek and American Eagle Lookout wonderful views, the little boys (and big boys) loved the gigantic trucks. Would highly recommend this house to anyone who would love to get away from the hustle of the city!! Would love to return again!

My 2 daughters and their families spent a week at Southpark Lodge. That week was truly a "Lil" piece of Heaven. Southpark Lodge is a beautiful cabin with spectacular, breathtaking views. We loved waking up every morning to the cool, crisp mountain air and drinking coffee on the deck while watching the deer. During our stay, the grandkids went horsebacking riding. We also went to the Cave of the Winds, Flying W Ranch, Wolf Santuary; and 11 Mile Lake; shopped in Manitou Springs and Cripple Creek and some even drove the Phantom Canyon Road. I would highly recommend South Park Lodge. This is the perfect place for anyone looking for rest & relaxation. Hosts, George & Lynn were very accommodating and we can't thank you enough for sharing your beautiful home with us.

we were exhausted from traveling around in our rv and decided to "spread out" at some of Happy trails properties and refresh ourselves. the view here is spectacular and amazing. on clear days you can actually see for several miles and see two or three mountain ranges away. this property is very spacious and accomodating. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our hosts were very hospitable and caring as well. this place was definitely worth the stay!!!! have fun

My family had a wonderful time at Southpark Lodge! It is a beautiful, spacious cabin with lots of room for the kids to run around and play. We watched up to 25 deer at a time roam around the area and they actually slept under the deck and in the yard at Southpark Lodge. It is a beautiful drive to the cabin and the view of the surrounding mountains is so amazing. While we stayed there, we went to visit Cripple Creek and rode the train. We also went through Garden of the Gods, hiked through the Florissant Fossil Beds, and spent a couple hours at The Falls on CR12 hiking and having a picnic. Others in our group took a trip to Royal Gorge and also Seven Falls and Cave of the Winds. We also spent a little time in Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs shopping and having ice cream with a mountain view! It was Heaven, and I'd go back tomorrow if I could - thank you so much George and Lynn!

We spent 4 days at Southpark Lodge, it was fantastic. The house was spacious and everyone had room to relax. The house was so clean, the beds were comfortable and we all had our own bathroom. We cooked in the well stocked kitchen, it was great for our family to eat together. Just bring your own groceries all of the pots and pans are already there. We came to Colorado for Parent's Weekend at the US Air Force Academy where our daughter is a freshman. This was the perfect place for her to relax and recharge. The house was very private and the views were breathtaking to wake up to each morning. We saw deer everyday around the home. We took in some sun on the outside deck and caught up on some reading. The only thing we regret about our stay at this home was it was not long enough. Thanks to George and Lynn for the opportunity to enjoy your beautiful home.
