  Best kept secret is this adorable cottage next to the main house. It is perfect for a couple.nice and quiet It is sooo private and has a deck on the side with a table and chairs where we had our coffee in the mornings where you could just listen to nature..very peaceful. The cottage consists of a double bed, large flat screen TV, refrigator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, small table with 2 chairs and a bathroom with a great shower! It is very clean and well maintained!...loved the inside decor! we will be back Thank You

  Unfortunately, we live a frantic life on the Mainland and were looking forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary away from phones and people with some privacy. We were so thrilled over the seclusion of this lovely house...Lush greenery everywhere, breakfasts on the porch in our pjs, windows opened at night to the sound of gurgling fountain water, painting on wrap around porch, gazing at the blue skies while showering.. We rented a jeep and spent our days trying out all the different beaches as well as hiking. At the end of the day, it was nice to come back to a quiet house and enjoy wine in peace. We were so appreciative of the wine and snacks that Pam had waiting for us after our long journey. She was an absolute delight to work with- she has that rare combination of a warm friendliness with a professional attention to details. She provided snorkeling gear, beach chairs, restaurant recommendations and local attraction recommendations. It was the summation of all these small things that made our trip even more relaxing. Thank you Pam!

  We spent a perfect week in this house in January 2013. I'll focus on three strong points: First and foremost, the house is located in a secluded, quiet, traffic-free area surrounded with lush trees -- yet within 20 minutes drive to Cruz Bay or Coral Bay or the northern beaches. This has been particularly important for us, because we needed the towns for ferry access, the park visitor center, restaurants, and food supplies, but we didn't want to spend there more time than necessary (to watch endless parades of immature adults strolling with beer cans?). Second, it is fully furnished with every essential (and even not so essential) article you might need; and the items are of good quality (not the cheap, vacation-rental variety). And finally, the owner, Pam, is exceptionally friendly and responsive, making sure that everything is just right. A couple of the restaurants that we particularly liked: Da Livio in Cruz Bay is an Italian restaurant with authentic dishes and excellent pizza -- It would do well in any major metropolitan area, and was a delightful surprise to find in such a small island. Rhumb Lines in Cruz Bay and Chateau Bordeaux (just 1 mile down the road) are also very good.

  Wonderful home - close to our favorite beaches. All the amenities anyone could want for a great vacation. This was our fifth trip to St. John and our first stay at Bay Grove. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

  We just returned from a week at Bay Grove to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. It was heavenly! Bay Grove is a truly lovely and charming home, and was perfect for the two of us. The location is exactly what we wanted- away from the hustle and bustle of the towns, completely serene and quiet, but not so far removed as to make anything on the island inaccessible. The kitchen is beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy a quiet breakfast before we headed out for the day's adventure. The main bedroom is very comfortable, with a quiet ceiling fan and many windows to let in the natural breeze on the mountain. The outdoor shower is gorgeous- perhaps my favorite aspect of the house. (I am already missing seeing the gorgeous color of the sky as I wash my hair at home.) We were very active for our entire stay, and Bay Grove was a wonderful respite at the end of our busy days. Pam was incredibly kind and thoughtful, surprising us with wonderful gestures to help us celebrate our anniversary. She was also incredibly helpful in giving us information about the island from where to rent our jeep (a must have to access the amazing beaches, hikes, restaurants, etc), where to eat, which beaches to visit, etc. This is a wonderful place to stay! We're looking forward to returning!

  My husband I made a spontaneous visit to St. John for 4 nights. We had little notice but, found this lovely home on top of Bordeaux Mountain in the middle of the island. Our hostess was top notch. She welcomed us with beverages of all sorts to help us get started, even milk for coffee. That was a big help. She has many books about the island and her reviews for favorite places to snorkel, shop and eat. The house was spacious and open, decorated with good taste and personality. I usually insist on AC but, we never used it. The fans were enough to require blankets and it was delightful. Great bed and linens. The shower is entered from the inside of the house but, it has no ceiling. You can enjoy the blue sky or the stars while showering. The island has two towns, one on each end. Bordeaux Mountain is half way in between. It is about a 15 minute drive to either town. If you like to be in the thick of it, you may not like this place. It is quiet and secluded. It was, however, very close to all the beaches and, the owner supplied us with chairs, towels, a cooler and snorkeling equipment. It was also close to several hiking trails. We loved our time here and had no complaints at all.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  My husband and I went to St. John looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation in a place of unspoiled natural beauty. We didn't want large resorts, crowded beaches with hotels or condo villages. Bay Grove was exactly what we were looking for: it was beautiful and well maintained, spacious and comfortable, nicely decorated, and very secluded in the mountains. We ate breakfast on the porch every day, loved showering in the outdoor shower (even when it was raining!), ate papaya from the tree in the yard and listened to the tree frogs at night. Pam was so helpful in giving us information and making sure we had everything we need. I am vegan (I eat no animal products at all), and she was concerned that I wouldn't find enough food that I could eat, so she brought me some vegan items she bought in Puerto Rico and left them at the house for me! I definitely plan to come back here as soon as possible!! Great price for a beautiful home.

  I cannot say enough about this rental home in Saint John. First the house is absolutely beautiful... open spaces with everything one would need to make you feel like you are right at home. The open air shower was just something else late at night... looking up to see all of the stars above you in a crystal clear Saint John night sky. The convenience of having a fully equipped kitchen is something that I absolutely treasured. We were able to do our own shopping and grill on the beautiful outside open patio... saving us quite a bit of money. Everything that you need to go to the beach is available at your fingertips provided by Pam & Richard. If you feel like staying in for the evening you are afforded luxury of extra soft sofas with a very nice big screen tv along with dvd player and even some movies! Or you can sit outside on the beautiful wrap around deck and just listen to the frogs chirping and the wind blowing through the palm trees. By far renting this beautiful home in lieu of staying in an expensive resort or some other sort of hotel should be everyones first choice. Thank you Pam and Richard for a lovely stay and trust me I will be back again and again.

  My wife and I found Bay Grove to be immaculate, spacious, and more affordable than some rundown hotel on a dead end street in Cruz Bay. The house is close to hikes to secluded beaches and one of the best smoothie stands on the island. It's a ten to fifteen minute drive from every location on the island: Cruz Bay, Coral Bay, the National Park, etc. We're not big crowd or nightlife people, so we loved driving into town (you'll definitely need a car or Jeep) for lunch or kayaking and then retreating to our little paradise at night. Pam and her family could not have been kinder or more accommodating. This was our first extended trip away since our seven year old was born, and it was just what the doctor ordered. We hope to return and would highly recommend Bay Grove to family and friends.

  We had an wonderful stay at Bay Grove, and will not hesitate to return! We have been coming to St. John for many years and have stayed in many villas - without a doubt, Bay Grove provided everything one could ever need while on vacation and so much more. The house is spacious, breezy and amazingly comfortable; the kitchen is better equipped than ours at home; and the owners are extremely kind, informative, and responsive. In addition, the location cannot be beat - you are centrally located between Cruz Bay and Coral Bay, and you super close to the North Shore Road. We would definitely recommend the house to anyone, and look forward to returning!

Separate Guest Cottage available MAXIMUM TWO (2) GUESTS IN COTTAGE. Can be rented as additional bedroom with the main house [additional charge] or as separate lodging ($99.00/nite)

One-half of total rental amount plus $250.00 security deposit due upon signing of Rental Agreement. Remining one-half of total rental amount due fourteen (14) prior to arrival date.
