Coos Bay house description
Savor panoramic views from the living room sofa, or canoe on the private lake. Now ready for guests, Lakehouse Timber Ranch is 259 acres of timber and pastureland, featuring a stunning view of the Coquille Valley and a lakefront view of its timberland.
Not a resort, but a working sheep ranch, enjoy a "ranch style" picnic area down by the lake with picnic tables, fire pit, and volleyball. RV and tent camping is permitted making this property an excellent location to host a family reunion. A rowboat and paddle boats are provided.
The house is newly refurbished, spacious and bright, featuring large windows of the valley views. Furnishings are very family friendly. One king size bed, 2 queens and 2 twins furnish the 4 bedrooms. Please let us know if you need a crib and highchair.
Bring your binoculars and see if you can spot the eagles and osprey over the Coquille River, or watch the busy farms across the valley. Deer are frequently seen on the property, as well as elk on occasion. Numerous old logging roads are currently being cleared for hiking and trail rides. The lake has excellent bass and bluegill fishing. (catch-and -release only please). Blackberry and huckleberry picking generally starts about August 1st.
North Bank Lane is an excellent country road for a bicycle ride. Following the Coquille River it is the scenic route to Bandon. If golf is your passion, the famous Bandon Dunes course is only about 10 miles away. While the lake has excellent bass fishing you might wish for a larger size catch. Ocean charter fishing is available in Charleston only 17 miles away. (Crabbing, clam digging and numerous beaches are also found in the Charleston area).

I grew up playing on this property and was thoroughly looking forward to experiencing "the lake" again. It was wonderful. The house is very clean, the kitchen has EVERYTHING, and the six of us adults had a grand time. We had beautiful January weather so we all spent some time on the lake, as well as golfed Bandon Dunes, and went down to Face Rock in Bandon. We will be back.....

Our family (grandparents, children, grandchildren, etc.) stayed three nights. The property was as advertised and we were pleasantly surpirsed at how well supplied the kitchen was. The house was spotless and very comfortable, the beds comfortable. The house has many different areas which accomodated our large group well and allowed for visiting. The kids had a great time at the lake playing in the boats (life preservers included) and fishing (success!!). We used the fire pit area every night. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it without reservation to family/friends. We also VERY much enjoyed exploring the coast (only 10 minutes or so away) and seeing many sea lions.

Very Beautiful Ranch!
Very Beautiful Ranch!
The pictures displayed online are very beautiful, however the beauty of the ranch was truly revealed upon actually being there! This is such a lovely place to stay. The host and hostess are very gracious. There are many beaches and parks to visit just a short drive away. The town of Coquille is about 6 miles south of the ranch. The tent and RV area is expansive. A portable potty would have been great down by the lake. The kids all enjoyed the available paddle boats, canoe and row boat and even caught some fish! A great time was had by all! Thank You!

Why the Owner Chose Coos Bay:
We purchased this property as a timber investment. It was especially appealing to us because it is just over the hill from our backyard, and is truly a one of a kind property. We have spent a year clearing briars, repairing fences and roads, and refurbishing the classic 1959 home. We are excited to now open it up to the public, and share this special place.
