  This was our first trip to Cabo and we were looking for a place that had a great pool and beach area, plus was walking distance to town. The Casa Dorada Resort fit the bill. The resort is beautiful and has wonderful amenties, very friendly staff and is located near many restaurants that are within close walking distance. I have rented from the VRBO site for vacations across the US and Central America and Mike Seman, without question, has been the best contact I have had for providing information and following up on all the details. It was a wonderful relaxing vacation and it turned out exactly as expected.

  This is a very beautiful location with very nice amenities. The room was fantastic. The Casa Dorada was quiet and relaxing during our stay, which is what we were looking for in our vacation. The beach in this area is fantastic and is the nicest in Cabo. You are close to town and can walk to anything that you probably want or need. There really is no need for a rental car. We have been here twice now and feel very safe walking anywhere. The weather is always sunny and 85. Tons of things to do and see, as well as relax at the pools or on the beach. The only thing that is a negative are the vendors and time share people. They can be avoided though with a pleasant "no thank you". This is not a negative on this resort, but the nature of the beast for Mexico tourist areas in general.

  This is great place to stay in Cabo. This beautiful property is a short walk to the Marina or town and is on the Medano beach - a large and swimable beach. There are plenty of good restaurants within a short walking distance. The rooms are VERY spacious and nicely appointed. We had the one bedroom suite and there were two balaconies for us to use. From the upper floors, there is a a great view of the ocean, the rocky cliffs and Lover's Beach. The staff were friendly and attentive. The swimming pool is heated. At night time, we never heard any noise from the Mango Deck restaurant/bar on the beach directly in front of the property; some other reviewers had mentioned this as a concern. Two shortcomings of the Casa Dorado: 1. The food poolside and at 12 Tribes is not too good. But you have your own kitchen and there are plenty of good alternatives a short walk away. 2. The wi-fi speed was ok, but the coverage was spotty inside the room. We found the best coverage by the pool or out on our balcony. Wi-fi cost $50 per week and can only be used on one device at a time. Free wi-fi is available at nearby restaurants or coffee shops. Everything was exactly as advertised and our stay at the Casa Dorado exceeded our expectations. We agreed that on our next trip to Cabo, we would stay at the Casa Dorada again.

  We stayed a week at the Casa Dorada; this is our second visit there. Casa Dorada is great, and you can find lots of info on the timeshare resort by googling; it's one of the nicest resorts in Cabo. This vrbo listing is an excellent way to rent a week at the resort without being an owner, and without paying the super-high nightly rates directly from the hotel. Everything went very smoothly with the transaction.

  Had a great time in Cabo this year! Weather could have been nicer that week, but overall we had plenty of sun. Our one bedroom suite at Casa Dorada was awesome! We set the trip up with Mike Seman and he is a true professional in making sure your experience is 5 star. How he follows through before and after the trip was very nice. Plan to book more trips with him in the future for sure. The only down side to Casa Dorada is the "B" Bar.....we called it the Boring Bar. They need to change the ocean view restaurant into a bar/food. Great view and they are missing out on a great opportunity. Maverick and Kim

  We visited Casa Dorada with two other couples for a week. We were very impressed! The staff is amazingly kind and helpful. The resort is so clean, has a great view and good food. Our room couldn't have been more comfortable. Comfy bed, tons of space, big bathroom, nice balcony overlooking the pool with a lovely ocean view. We spent time by the pool and on the beach. The beach vendors can get old, but usually walk away with a simple, "No Gracias". There were so many restaurants and bars nearby-- easily within walking distance-- with great food and drinks. Edith's is noteworthy. Expensive but worth it. Order the Spanish coffee-- its quite a show! The marina area alone offers many options. The beach scene is lively and fun, with lots of activities from boat rides, parasailing, whale watching, and of course the crazy drinking contests at neighboring bars, but they can easily be avoided, too. The airport (Los Cabos) was clean, friendly and organized which also helped to make the overall experience nice. We can't wait to go back to Casa Dorada! What a great getaway!

  My wife and I did a relatively last minute trip to Cabo San Lucas and Mike did a great job in helping us coordinate our room, transportation and even called the night we checked in to ensure that everything was up to our expectations. The Casa Dorada is a great place to stay as the rooms are incredible, the pool area is the best and the service was top notch. We have been to Cabo many times and will definitely be coming back to the Casa Dorada. Thanks Mike for making this a memorable trip.

  My wife and I spent the first week of December in this great 1 bedroom. I've been to Cabo a number of times, but nothing beats the location of Casa Dorado. We swapped between the lively beach action right in front of the resort when we wanted to people watch and the quite pool if we just felt like kicking back with a book or catch a nap under an umbrella.The room was perfect and all rooms have a view. Mike was really helpful prior to our trip giving me tips on traveling to Cabo, helping get our ground transportation arranged and just making sure everything was dialed in. You can't go wrong with this place!

  Our family had a fabulous trip to Cabo. We enjoyed staying at the Casa Dorado and the room was beautiful. We asked for a rollaway for our daughter and it was brought up right away no charge. The location is perfect for walking to the Marina for dinner. There are great beach bars near the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was always chairs by the pool and the beach to lay out in and service there too for food. The only thing that doesn't work in the room is the internet. We had to use our computer on the deck, which wasn't bad since there is a great view! I would definitely stay at the Casa Dorado again, which we are over Christmas.

  We reserved our room at the Casa Dorada through Mike Seman. Mike was FANTASTIC to work with. He definitely goes over and above to ensure questions are answered and the room is to your liking. He called us during our reservation process, before we left for the trip, while we were on our trip, and after we returned home. We highly recommend renting from Mike. Mike provided information on Casa's proximity to town, the beach, and restaurants and was spot on! Casa Dorada is beautiful, the staff is courteous and professional. Our room was 424 and we had a good view of Lands End, the pools, and the marina inlet. This room was not dead center front view, but good enough...no complaints. We had been to Cabo two other times staying at the RIU Santa Fe and we agreed this trip was a true Cabo experience. We normally stay at all-inclusive resorts but this trip opened our eyes to another way to vacation. Being closer to town and going to the local bars and restaurants can't be beat! Thanks Mike for our best trip to Cabo (third). Eric and Kelly P.S. Some of our favorite bars and restaurants (all can be walked to) Maro's Shrimp House (in town) Alcaravea (Italian in town off beaten path) La Dolce (Italian in town) Pocho's (marina..great specials and good food) Rip's (bar by Cabo Wabo) Cabo Blue (in town) No Worries (bar by Cabo Wabo) Sharky's (around the corner from Casa Dorada) Sand Bar (on the beach in front of Casa Dorada) Excursions: Red Rum...deep sea fishing. This was our third time with Red Rum and again, they delivered. Three dorado. Great time!

  This was our 2nd stay at Casa Dorada. Ist time, we booked a Jr. Suite directly through the resort and it was a great experience. This year, we wanted a larger room and hoped maybe we could find an owner who would rent to us. Fortunately, we found Mike Seman. Mike is an honest, stand up guy and a real pleasure to work with. Mike got us the dates we wanted, gave us room suggestions, sent me a copy of his rental agreement to review before booking, offered us a fair price, and then handled everything. He booked and confirmed the room, called us before departure for Cabo to make sure everything was ok, and even called us at the resort after we arrived to make sure we were in with no problems. Dealing with Mike was like having a personal concierge. We will definately be calling Mike again the next time we go back. And, as always, Casa Dorada is THE place to stay in Cabo. Wonderful rooms with views of the harbor and Lands End. Right on Medano Beach and easy walking distance to town, the marina and many wonderful restaurants. Awesome pools and swim up bar. Private beach club. Don't even bother looking elsewhere. Just rent here from Mike, check in, and enjoy a week in paradise.

  We were very impressed with the property! Right in the heart of Medano Beach! We got two rooms with ocean front views. The rooms were very big. Lots of space everywhere. Big kitchen, dinning area and living room. The bedrooms were very spacey also! Huge bath tub in the master bedroom. This is a new property so everything was in pristine condition. You could walk everywhere! We hardly ever took a cab. Very close to shopping areas, restaurants and bars. All the water sports were right next to the hotel. Casa Dorada is located at the best beach in Cabo, "Medano Beach". Perfect for swimming, water sports and activities. Our kids were jet skiing almost every day! You get the fabulous view of Cabo's "famous arch" from your bedroom! The hotel has it all: restaurants, great swimming pools and kids activities. Very friendly staff. Because you are in such a perfect location for everything, you get the music and entertainment from the restaurants and bars next to the hotel. The very famous restaurant "The Office" beachfront cafe, is right next door to the property and many other famous, beautiful and gourmet Mexican food restaurants. You also get to witness weddings on weekends. You can walk everywhere! You can also walk to downtown and experience smaller restaurants and get Cabo's famous seafood tacos in smaller very inexpensive "taquerias". Cabo was perfectly safe!! Almost everybody speaks English! People at Cabo are very friendly!! Working with the owner of the property was very easy. He was very professional and we felt very comfortable dealing with him. You will have an amazing time with your family!

  Second time at Casa Dorada and Cabo, first time using VRBO and Mike Seman. Everything went smoothly, from the booking, through the check in process and check out. The 1 bedroom with separate living room/kitchen offered plenty of room for the week. Casa Dorada is the best location in Cabo, just minutes walking to the Marina. The property is well maintained and a great pool area! Mike really made the process easy, this was a good experience for a first time VRBO user. We are probably spoiled now, Mike's customer service skills and follow-up are second to none. Highly recommend staying at Casa Dorada and reserving with Mike Seman.

  Being big fans of Mexico and having been to Playa Del Carmen and Cancun many times, we wanted to checkout somewhere new and decided to spend our next vacation in Cabo. We would normally stay at The Royal in Playa and Cancun, which is a world-class resort with topnotch food, rooms and amenities. Therefore our expectations were high and we wanted something along these lines. At the same time the whole all-inclusive experience has started to grow tired, we wanted to be somewhere very centrally located where we could venture out and experience the restaurants and bars vs. letting the buffet dictate our schedules. After doing lots of research on the options available in Cabo the Casa Dorada surfaced as the place to be. The location is pristine and you really couldn’t ask for a more beautiful setting. The description and photos in the listing actually understate how great this place is. The Casa Dorada is beautiful and modern; rooms are vey spacious and well appointment. Many of the patrons are owners so the place attracts to great clientele. The resort is maintained very well and all requests were tended to promptly. One of the best things about the whole experience was working with the owner Mike. We contacted a number of people with listings on VRBO and Mike provided a level of comfort that was simply unmatched. He took time to explain everything and made the process seamless from start to finish. He was genuine and delivered on everything he said he would. He was quick to call us upon arrival and again a couple days in just to make sure everything was okay. We enjoyed one of the best vacations we’ve ever had at the Casa Dorada. The location is the best in Cabo and it’s surrounded by a huge variety of bars and restaurants with easy access to all the activities you could hope for and then some. We will definitely return to Cabo and when we do we’ll contact Mike and book another week at the Casa Dorada, I would highly recommend that you do too!

  To start, Casa Dorada is a beautiful property. Rooms and common areas are immaculately kept and the rooms/suites are spacious and well furnished. Pretty much every convenience of home away from home is included. Service, including housekeeping, bellmen, front desk and poolside waitstaff is top-notch. And as an owner/renter Mike Seman is an upright guy who shows a genuine interest in his renters' enjoyment of their stay. As noted in other reviews, Mike checks in after you check in just to make sure everything is o.k. In our case, the view from our room was not what we had hoped for and Mike followed up with local management to help us get upgraded to a corner unit with spectacular views. We walked to town and the Marina area every day (about 1.5 miles) and felt entirely comfortable doing so. I would recommend Casa Dorado without reservation but there's this one "except"...and that has to do with the timeshare/club membership salesmen in the lobby. The response "no, I'm not interested" does not deter them from approaching you each and every time you pass by. I understand this is part of the game but found it extremely intrusive and off-putting. If you can find a way to get them to leave you alone then I would bump my overall rating of Casa Dorada to an Excellent++. And maybe it's just me? As far as dining, we couldn't stay long enough to sample every place on our list but we can vouch for: Bar Esquina, just across from the front door. Excellent food and a romantic setting La Dolce, downtown & not far from the Marina. Comfortable Italian eatery, well-priced and good food. The Office, on the beach just below Casa Dorada. Open air dining for lunch and dinner. A fun place. To do: Snorkeling at Pelican Rock was surprisingly good at what seemed an unlikely spot. Whale watching/sunset cruise with Cabo Sailing. Great crew and great service. We had up close encounters with both grey and humpback whales just a mile or two out. What we didn't do but others might find enjoyable:glass bottom boat to Lover's Beach; jet skis, stand up surfboard paddling. Some days the water was afoam with the activity of these conveyances dashing about the Sea of Cortez. It makes for some fun photography too. I don't know if we'll get back to Cabo anytime soon but if we do I'd look for Mike and Casa Dorada again. Especially if they can slow down the sales pitch in the lobby.

  As a native new yorker I was very cynical on renting a timeshare from someone but Mike is a true stand-up guy who treated me with openness, honestly and integrity. His description of the hotel was spot on and frankly the room was better than I expected. I would happily recommend Mike to anyone thinking of going to the Casa Dorada.

  This is our second time staying at Casa Dorada and convinced that there is no better spot in Medano Beach or Cabo. The propery is located adjacent to the Marina and a quick walk to the downtown area but also provides great access to several of the beach front restaurants (The Office and Mango Deck). The hotel rooms are quite spacious and luxurious, the hotel grounds are well kept and the service is excellent. The hotel staff is very accomodating and eager to assist. Working with Mike was also a great experience. He was easy to work with and followed up on everything making sure our vacation and stay went off as planned with no suprises. I definitely reommend Mike as much as I recomend Casa Dorada.

  The resort was beautiful and clean, the room was spacious. The servers on the beach aim to please and made our experience a good one. The owner was so pleasant to deal with and followed up with us several times to make sure we were satisfied. We found a great little Italian restaurant in town called La Dolce, casual with delicious food. Also, directly across the street from the hotel is Bar Esquina. We had a nice meal with great music. The weather could not have been more beautiful. Great vacation!

  We stayed in Casa Dorada for 14 nights and we love the place. It is a delux place with excellent and friendly service. The food and drinks well priced and the qulaity of food and drinks are great. The location is the best, as you can walk to all important locations and the beach is safe. Mike the guy who rented the place to us is an excellent guy taking care of us through out the booking process as well we even received a call from him the day we arrived checking if all is ok.. ( thanks Mike). The only thing we can warn all guests is the time share presentation !!! Please do not go there even they offer you free cruise or activities on the beach, if you do not sign the memebreship of 15TSD US you get nothing. And they tell you a story about a divorced couple need to sell the membership for half the price.. ALL bull ... we meet 3 couples who bought the divorced membership !! Other from that this is the place to go... One more thing, the pool bar is the place to hang out at 4:00pm this place is rocking !!   My husband and myself visited Casa Dorado in May 2011. We had an awesome time. The room was gorgeous and the service was excellent. I would recommend this property to anyone. The location on Medano Beach was awesome. We were in walking distance to the mall, great restaurants, and downtown.

  My boyfriend and I just love Mexico and we were looking for a different destination this year. So, we went on "VRBO" and started to search for something luxurious and at a good price. When I saw the pictures, I knew that it was the place I wanted to go. But we were hesitant about doing the reservation with VRBO, so that was our first experience in that kind of vacations.So finally I made the contact with Mike on the phone and I immediatly trusted him. He answered all our questions and tried to do the best for us, as he knows that it was the first time for us in Cabos. I think that he appreciated to deal with us directly on the phone and not by email. The communication is a lot better when you talk instead of dealing by email. So, we booked in for a week at this amazing hotel resort. We stayed in an oceanfront condo: one bedroom suite with two balconies, a very comfortable bed, a modern kitchen, two flat screens tv and it was very clean. The room is cleaned every day, and sometimes twice a day. Each night when we came back to the room after having dinner, the room has been cleaned up by the maid and she put a lovely atmosphere in the bedroom (music, chocolates and flowers on the bed, subdued light, ...). We enjoyed that very much, it was great. We enjoyed also having a drink and breakfast on the deck and look at this incredible scenery. The view is amazing. The hotel is at a short walking distance to the Marina, where are the restaurants and the shopping malls. For us, it was great, because there was no need for a cab. The beach is wonderful, and there was always available chairs on the beach. The pools are very clean, one is hot and the other one is cold for the brave ones.Also, there is a luxurious spa in the hotel and a gym. Mike also followed up with us when we check in and after when we came back to Canada. He wanted to be sure that everything was ok and he offered his help if needed. We appreciated that very much. I would recommend this hotel anytime and do business with Mike was just enjoyable. We love Cabo San Lucas and the Casa Dorada Hotel and Resort. We will be back next year for sure.

  We are big Cabo fans & we will definitely be going back to the Casa Dorada. We have been to Cabo three times prior and are not ones to return to the same place twice but Casa Dorada will be the exception. We rented a one bedroom suite in Jan. I was a bit hesitant in renting from VRBO as I had never done this before but it was fantastic & Mike was a gem. Always followed up with every question, He even phoned us after arrival to make sure everything was ok! In my opinion Casa Dorada is one of the best overall places to stay in Cabo San Lucas because of the location, rooms, price & service. Location: Superb! The hotel is within a short walking distance to the Marina and right on Medano beach. I loved the location. We walked everywhere! No need for cabs aside from your transport to/from the airport. The beach has a roped of area with comfy loungers and friendly waiters. Drinks are two for one & beer is served in buckets full of ice. We ordered lunch a few times & basically split the burger, tacos etc…generous portions and food was delicious! Some days walked a few steps away to the Office, Mango Deck and Baja Cantina for lunch and that was awesome. The beach in front of Casa Dorada is swimable (but cold!) We pretty much spent every day at the beach until about 3pm. There is a lot of activity at the beach and some great people watching…beach bars, water sports & restaurants. There are lots of vendors if you like to do a bit of “beach shopping” although you will find yourself saying “no gracious” quite a bit too. At around 3pm we would move up to the pool for awhile which was quiet, relaxing & had easy listening music, and again superb waiters. The Hotel: Check in was super easy and fast & we were greeted with mango margaritas. We were upgraded to a one bedroom plus which meaning we had two large bathrooms instead of just one. Rooms are Incredible!! (Clean, spacious, comfortable beds, modern kitchen, two decks, two flat screens). We had grocery’s delivered by “where in cabos” (mostly pop, water, beer, snacks and breakfast) & spent most mornings drinking our coffee and eating breakfast on our deck taking in the incredible view. Some early evenings we enjoyed wine and cheese on our deck taking in all the action on the Marina…much better then TV! We loved the Casa Dorada & Cabo! We had amazing dinners, met great people and stayed at a superb luxorious hotel in a prime location. I would return to this property in a heartbeat. I miss it already! We will be back.

  Mike was awsome! Honest and a pleasure to deal with, we will totally book with him again! We are Canadians and have been to Cabo but first time at the Casa Dorado. We loved it great room with a view, the best location on the beach, we could walk to everything. Cant wait to go again!

  I was a Cabo resident when this property first opened. When they started offering SPA/Gym memberships...I joined. As a member I also had access to the pool and beach areas. As much as I hate exercising...it was always a pleasure to work out at SaltWater Spa at Casa Dorada. HOWEVER, I was always a little envious of the vacationers. As soon as I moved back to the US, I started planning my first trip back to Cabo as a vacationer. I had to come back for a friends wedding. And of course I knew I had to stay at Casa Dorada. I will continue to recommend this property as I always have. And I will also now recommend renting from owners Andy and Mike. Thanks!!!
