Thank you so much for letting us stay in your house. The photos do not even begin to do this place justice. The views of the Bay, SF and the sunrise are just SPECTACULAR. This is the most wonderful spot, close to Sausalito, the ferry and restaurants. The trip to SF is convenient by boat but sometimes not that frequent. With children it suited us perfectly. When we were tired from excursions, sitting on one of the several balconies watching the world go by in the warmth of the morning sun was particularly memorable and soul warming. The house is large and it took us several days to get used to the layout, not a criticism but just took bit of getting used to. We stayed just over a week which still left us wanting more time and more days out but its always best to leave whilst feeling like that. The house has everything you could want by way of equipment and I really liked having a large garage for the car (parking is difficult is Sausalito). Strong wifi too. We loved Sausalito and its restaurants and galleries. They are all good. Bar Bocce, just out of town stood out for us despite its slightly unpromising exterior. Really good gourmet pizza amongst other things. Bike hire is available from the photo shop which meant we could take a ferry and cycle the Bridge back - a real must. Criticisms? None really. The attached apartment has no windows but was perfect for our teenage son. No TV in the lounge has been mentioned in other reviews. Yes, unusual but the stunning view out the window is far better than TV anyway and there are enormous flat panel lcd's in all bedrooms. Overall cannot recommend this place enough. A perfect combination of size, location, facilities and view. We will certainly come back one day but a long way from the UK....!! Thank you again, a wonderful break for us all.

Owner response: Mike, We are most grateful for your family stay with us. Thank you sincerely for your thoughtful and thorough review. With best regards, Peter

My husband and I rented this house to share our Third Wedding Anniversary with his cousin & wife for their 21st Anniversary for a week and we LOVED THIS HOUSE!!! Ahmazing views from every level!!!! We took the bedroom on the first level and NEVER USED THE ELECTRIC BLINDS-and went to sleep and woke up to a beautiful view everyday with a "fire burning". The kitchen is a "cook's dream" plenty of "prep room" , plates, utensils, etc...... some "Pantry" items were provided (probably left behind by previous tenants) We had our own private bathroom which was spacious & clean and I used the steam/dry sauna which really helped my sinuses. Plenty of towels & soap, etc..... House has and excess amount of storage/cabinet space!!!! It took us a couple of hours to get used to the layout (it's 4 floors) and the elevator really came in handy but I liked using the stairs. It's a quiet neighborhood and I didn't hear or see anyone while relaxing on the patio. OMG our bed was so COMFORTABLE I WANTED TO TAKE IT WITH US!!! We had to drag ourselves out of bed to enjoy the city sights!!! Live Orchids in bloom were all throughout the house as well other tropical plants and little candy dishes. House was very clean and well maintained. This house was built with LOVE and I could live in it all year around with a few minor repair/changes: 1. Our shower had a very slow drain so you were standing in about 1" of water while showering. 2. The TV in our room was on same wall as fireplace and the way bed is positioned you have to watch sideways so it's not as comfy for the person behind you. 3. The main room has NO TV but a beautiful mirror on the wall instead and since it's where the couches are I would install a "pull down TV" then you could still enjoy the mirror. I Love the design and layout of the house and would definitely rent it again and again!!! You just had to walk down a long hill for the shops but we drove instead to see the surrounding nieghborhood. Thank you for the opportunity of renting your beautiful house!!!! I didn't talk with the owner personally cause it was under someone else's name but he's very accomdating!!!

Owner response: Thank you for your generous property review. We are most grateful for your accolades and your beneficial repair / improvement suggestions. Our property plumber was dispatched early this morning to open the slow bath drain. Thank you so much for staying with us. Please know that you now have a special place in Sausalito that you can always call HOME, as your schedule permits. With best regards, Peter SUNBOW PROPERTIES, LLC

This was a wondeful house with exceptional views from every level. Three couples gathered for a reunion and birthday celebration...the house was so much fun.....perfect weather made it even better, We had a catered dinner (Laurel's Catering: highly recommend) The house is such an interesting design and all wood! it felt like a yacht! Great place to stay especially for 2 couples...the 3rd bedroom is quiet and more like servants quarters, but very comportable.

My husband and I asked my parents to join us for my 40th birthday stay at this exceptional property and it could not have been a more perfect choice for style and quality combined with the perfect location. The layers of the house provided good space and privacy but allowed for a comfortable and stylish shared livingroom with a great kitchen. Local stores had excellent produce so we chose to prepare most meals ourselves and enjoy the space. We ate our formal dinners in the large dining area and took breakfast at the table in the full height window overlooking the bay, we enjoyed afternoon drinks on the roof top terrace watching seals, pelicans and canoeists go by. We explored nearby towns and beaches and often made the short walk to catch the ferry to San Francisco. We have stayed in the city a number of times before but all felt that to be able to see the skyline and be only minutes away made for a more relaxing and sophisticated break....for eleven days we felt like locals. Overall I would say the property is of bespoke design, is entirely quality, spacious and well equipped. It is managed professionally and whilst we did not experience any problems I have complete confidence that the team would always ensure satisfaction and beyond. If you want to be in Sausalito this is where you need to be. We'll be dining out on this one for sometime! Thanks again guys X

We spent a week in this marvelous home overlooking the bay and San Francisco during Christmas. When we arrived there was a lit tree in the living room. The other reviews are all very accurate and so I will not restate what has already been written. The views from the house are spectacular and happy hour on the top deck is amazing. The property was clean and well maintained. We experienced a heating issue on our first night and the management was quick to fix the problem and gave us credit for that night. We were very impressed with how they handled the problem and continued to call us to make sure we were comfortable. The main street is within walking distence (need to be able to navigate a hill), the ferry boat is close by to visit SF and the parking is safe and convenient. We would definitely recommend this house to others and we hope to return again soon.

First of all, this place is very well kept and very clean; kudos to the cleaning/maintenance staff. The home has an unusual design. It's a four level home built into the side of the mountain. Each level has its own amazing views. Floor to ceiling windows emphasize the magnificent views and optimize light. From the second and third floor decks you feel as if you're on the balconey of a nice cruise ship. We all felt that this home must have been designed with love-from the high standard of the word-working, to the maximum and creative utilization of space, to the stain glass windows, cabinets and so on. Even the elevator (yes, there's an elevator that you can sit down in) is designed to tastefully fit in with the overall decor. The pictures do not do this place justice as they cannot prepare you for the unique qualities of this place. We came on a business trip hoping only beat the price of having three nice hotel rooms. We had no idea we were in for such a luxurious treat. Next time I come here I hope it will be for vacation.

This special home was perfect for two of my college mates and me to celebrate our 70th birthday together with our spouses. The views from each floor of the house were breathtaking. Each bedroom suite provides complete privacy for each couple, each with its own bathroom. The furnishings were contemporary which matched the ambience of the views of the city, Golden Gate, Bay Bridge, Sausalito. The woodwork throughout the house is a craftsman dream. 5 minutes walk to town was very convenient but all six of us so enjoyed the kitchen, dining room setting so much that we each hosted dinner each evening. Easy to do with a sleek kitchen with two sinks, huge gas stove, two fridges, two ovens...all appliances were top drawer. After dinner we went into the living room, open deck area to enjoy after dinner drinks and travel down memory lane with hours of conversation overlooking the evening lights of the city. We will be back. Thank you Peter and staff for your gracious hospitality. You can't go wrong with this beautiful rental.

Arriving with fairly high expectations, we found this house and setting better than we expected. On a quiet residential street, we were impressed by the unique architecture and beautiful woodwork. The house is on four levels (five counting the large roof patio) and this took some getting used to. It was a running joke amongst the six of us on this family vacation that we needed a map to get around and heading in the wrong direction gave us all chuckles for a few days. This feature, however, made the house quite private when privacy was desired and provided several gathering places when company was sought. The elevator was helpful with luggage. Oriented toward the bay, every level had spectacular views of the bay, Tiburon, Angel Island and the San Francisco skyline through large windows and balconies on each level. Being one street level up from the main street provided us with good access to the town's attractions with quiet privacy. Traveling with an infant, we had some special needs that the property manager and greeter went out of their way to accomodate. Unfortunately, our flight to San Francisco was delayed causing missed connections and an unexpected midnight arrival. After obtaining our rental van and getting somewhat lost driving through the city, we did not arrive to the house until after 2:00 a.m. Many thanks to Rocio and Margarita for going way out of their way to make sure we were accomodated properly. This was outstanding service without so much as a hint of complaint, and, indeed, expressions of concern given for our wellbeing. During our stay we had a minor maintenance problem and Michelle at the property management office was responsive and sent someone out promptly to attend to our needs. For many of us, the house and its environs was the highlight of the trip. We all agreed that this would be a place worth returning to. Thanks to all for making our stay the highlight of the year for our family.

Owner response: Thank you sincerely for your kind words about our staff. Rocio, Margarita and Michelle are "Heaven sent". The natural beauty of Sausalito, the amazing views, the every changing visual landscape and the architectural uniqueness of the Property are all wonderful elements. But, it truly is the hard work and gentle concern of our staff that helps to make this experience worth returning to. The "Welcome Mat" is yours......Thank you again.

Three couples from the Southeast decided to vacation in San Fransisco and the wine country together. This house provided each couple with plenty of private, personal space - indoor and outdoor - and tons of comfortable indoor and outdoor public space. The house is built on a hillside with stunning views from every level. The photos are accurate, the interior really is gorgeous. But photos cannot communicate the open, airy space on each level. The house is beautifully appointed and maintained. The location was perfect. Getting to San Fransisco, to Napa/Sonoma, to dining, and to shopping was simple. The neighborhood is quiet, at the end of each busy day we enjoyed a wonderful peace. The rental is handled by a property management company that was fast to respond and showed, over and over, they really cared about us and how we enjoyed out visit. I encourage anyone planning a to spend time in the Bay area to consider this house. It is a wonderful experience all to itself. And it enhanced our really great vacation.

This is a beautiful place to stay and I can recommend it without any reservations. We are a family of five - semi-retired parents and three adult children - and arrived from the UK and Seattle. The house is big enough and laid out in such way that five adults can relax in comfort. The views out over the Bay are incredible - from early in the morning to late at night, the sky and water are changing all the time. I got up before dawn each morning to watch the sun come up - it was amazing and I cannot find words to adequately describe it. Breakfast was eaten overlooking the Bay and dinner in the lovely dining room adjoining the kitchen. We wanted for nothing and would hope to return.

This is an amazing property and one that should not be missed. This is the absolute best getaway retreat house-- just close enough to the big city but nestled away in the hills of beautiful Sausalito. Six of us occupied the house for an extended weekend and we all had an amazing time. Great kitchen, wonderful gas fireplaces, amazing bedrooms but best of all was the view from the balcony and roof. We will be making another visit to Sausalito and this house. Thanks.

I found this house for my friends who were visiting from Europe. The 3 of us spent a week at the property and had an amazing time. The house was too big for the 3 of us but the price for one tiny hotel room in Sausalito without any views & parking was over $400 + tax! The house was a far better value and location could not be better. My friends have never been in US before and trusted me to guide them. I am so glad to have found this place! It had 2 large bedrooms with large bathrooms and decks located on separate levels of the house, plus a separate guest quarters with 2 more beds and a bathroom. Each of us had enough privacy and space to spread around our things and be comfortable. The house was equipped with everything we needed. Beautiful orchids decorated several rooms, all appliances looked new. The house was very charming with lots of natural filtered light and had stained glass details everywhere. The office was our favorite spot and we loved the iMac. The house was just up the hill from the center of town. It was very private, located above the crowds but within easy views of the boats and people. Parking in Sausalito can be difficult, but the house had a nice garage for our cars. We were able to walk to town, take ferry to San Francisco and explore Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. The ferry ride is very pleasant and fast ( less than 30 minutes one way) I would highly recommend taking it. I have lived here for years but never ridden it before. It was as fun for me as for my European friends. Overall, we had a very nice experience staying at the property and were happy with everything. It was nice, clean, comfortable, safe and very-very conveniently located. I am leaving an excellent review because the property deserves it.

There is truly no way to describe this fabulous Villa in Sausalito. My family has stayed in numerous locations over the years, but this place is truly the most fabulous place ever. Only 3 minutes to downtown Sausalito and 20 minutes to the heart of San Francisco. The views are amazing; the rooftop is an excellent place to gather for a nice glass of wine; the gourmet kitchen is a dream, complete with Viking appliances. This Villa even has a dry sauna. Special thanks to Rosio, Margarita and Peter for making sure we were taken care of throughout our stay. We will definately be back. (We actually stayed here in September of 2011. The calendar would allow me to change the date from 2009 to 2011.)

My husband and I stayed at the house in July 2010. The house was a pleasant surprise: definitely a unique design, but also very clean, spacious and elegant with sweeping San Francisco Bay views in every direction and from every room. The house was overlooking the water, close to everything but very private and beautiful. We walked down the street to the Sausalito Town Square and caught a ferry to San Francisco. It was great that we didn't have to drive and hassle with parking. In the evening, we just walked to nearby restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Our hosts were friendly and attentive. We called to ask few questions and they called us right back, were helpful with everything and even gave us tips on where to eat and what to see. We followed the tips and were very happy with their suggestions. One other very important to us thing was that the house was absolutely spotless and set up for our arrival as if it was a luxury hotel: Brand new iMac computer, free internet, a phone line to make local calls, fresh towels, crispy linens, soaps in every bathroom, napkins, champagne glasses – owners thought through every small detail. We loved the design of the house. Bedrooms were very large, each on a separate level of the house, with large decks and sun rooms on every level, all with unbelievable views. Kitchen was huge and was designed to entertain large parties: two refrigerators, two ovens and a large Viking range. We went to the local farmers market, got some fresh produce and cooked a great dinner at the house. It was really nice! We also loved the location of the house and it's proximity to San Fransisco and to all local attractions: it was 5 minutes walk down the street to all shops in Sausalito, 10 minutes drive to SF; 15 minutes to Tiburon; 40 minutes to get to Sonoma and Napa. Location was superb! My husband and I have traveled the world…and have stayed in very nice hotels. This was our first time renting a house occasioned by limited hotel availability and expensive rates. We didn't know what to expect. But we had a great experience with this rental and we would highly recommend it. Best Wishes, Kate and Al Rubin
