cozy and comfy week in Paris

I can only add agreement to the previous comments. We were very pleased with the studio and it had everything we needed to make our first visit to Paris easy. Fredrique and her Dad were very kind and helpful. The bed/couch is comfy and there is lots of hot water. We ate in alot and found the kitchen well stocked with dishes and such. We were suprised how close we were to the Sacre Coeur! Wecould walk anyplace, but the Metro stops were close, too. It's a great place to stay!

Servicable, comfortable and in a lovely area

Let me start with Frederique. She was thorough, communicative and very available for our stay. We called her a few times and she got back to us quickly. She showed us around the area, drew us a little map and seemed genuinely interested in our welfare. The space is small, as are all Paris apartments, but it has everything you need. A good bed that becomes a couch, a lovely small kitchen, a good bathroom. It is on a good street, but far enough off the street that there is not much noise. It is located in a lovely area, is just around the corner from tons of small markets on Rue des Martyrs. For a more common shopping experience there is also a large supermarket, but the small markets are excellent. It is also equidistant from Pigalle and Anvers stations, and puts you in such an easy spot to get to and from anywhere. We loved every minute of our stay. I highly recommend it, although it is for the more experienced traveller.

Quaint Parisien Apartment

Guest: Bear (Singapore)
Date of Stay: 11/05/11 Review Submitted: 11/16/11

Frederique was very nice and thoughtful host. She left some welcomed staple items because no grocery shops were opened the following day (on Sunday). We were even greeted with a bottle of french wine! Frederique was very helpful in answering the questions and her English is much better than my French. The apartment was easy to locate. In our opinion, the apartment is easier located from Anvers because you just have to locate the main streets. Coming from Pigalle metro, it would be a bit more difficult to locate the place after sundown. This place is really ideal for a couple or single traveller who wants a glimpse of the Parisien lifestyle. The place is good for preparing meals which helps the pocket where food expenses are concerned. We spent most of our time out of the apartment to explore Paris on foot. The Basilica Sacre-Coeur should not be missed. For those who have a metro day pass, go up the Sacre-Coeur via funicular in the evening because the views are fantastic. It's usually very foggy in the morning. There are also numerous shops nearby that sell souvenirs and other knick-knacks. The description listing was accurate. The photos show exactly the rental apartment's appearance and amenities and it was value for money. It was an unforgettable experience for the both of us. ~another Singaporean couple~

Perfect for pied à terre in a city like Paris. Apt. was clean, futon became a very confortable bed, and everything we needed was situated at minutes walk. Metro, bakeries, grocery store, market place on Thursday, and good restaurants, First experience in renting an Apt. and we'ill definitely do it again. Thank you Frédérique for being so helpful,

A+ Studio - 3min walk to Montmartre

This is a charming little studio for those wanting to experience Paris to the fullest. This was our first trip to Paris (but for sure not last). Frederique pretty much befriended us from the moment we met and not only gave us wonderful tips on restaurants, supermarkets and metro but also invited us to join her and her friends for dinner. Where do I begin when I tell you if you rent a place from her You are for sure in Great Hands!!! The apartment is small, but comfortably fits two people - granted we were not there to sit home all day. Also, Frederique is just amazing in being very thoughtful and patient when it came to check in/ out times (big big plus and Thank you!) This is a perfect location to visit Montmartre and if you are a walker like us, you will enjoy a 30/45 min stroll to Notre Dame Cathedral! We were in Paris for 5 days and took the train only to/from airport. The place has all the cooking utensils, so we were able to make breakfast and even packed ourselves a lunch couple of times. The experience was unforgettable!!! Also, keep in mind it is on 5th floor and the elevator is super tiny - literally fits 2 people side by side - so pack light or use the stairs :) THANK YOU FREDERIQUE!!!!! (we will be back :) bisous

A wonderful week!

Guest: Cynthia (Somerville)
Date of Stay: 06/01/11 Review Submitted: 06/09/11

This studio is a wonderful place and a great rental. The location is delightful, the street right outside the window is wide, tree-lined and quiet, and the whole building feels safe and secure. The adjacent street - Rue d/Martyrs - is filled with little cheese, wine, meat, fish and bread shops. There is a supermarket right nearby and it is an easy walk to two different metro stations. While the room may be small by "American standards" when the futon is unfolded, it is the perfect size for two for a week - and the fridge, washer and sink are all easy to use and very useful! The owner was very helpful, prompt and easy to do business with. We'd recommend the two restaurants across the street - the Hungarian/French one has a great stuffed cabbage dish and the one adjacent to that has the best lamb that we've ever tasted. Last detail: While this apartment is near the Pigalle metro stop - which, in different guidebooks, is described as being within the "red-light" district of Paris - this apartment is in such a delightful neighborhood that one would never know that it is only a 15-minute walk from the infamous Moulin Rouge. Especially since Sacre Coure is only 10-minutes away. That's Paris for you!

Cozy, Cute and Comfy!

Having travelled several times to Paris on business, I wanted a reasonably priced apartment to come home to when not on an expense account. I was fortunate to find Frederique's Trudaine Studio and stayed solo for a week in May. I found it to be a great pied a terre - convenient to the train and in a neighborhood that is safe for a woman to walk alone both day and nite. There are plenty of stores, markets and restaurants in the area - and, if you are gone most of the day - it is a great spot to come home to. The apartment is small but very cleana and all the facilities- cable TV, Wi-Fi, washer and free phone - make up for what it lacks in size. It is perfect for 1 or 2 people. Make sure you bring your own toiletries, an alarm clock, hair dryer and converter / adaptor for charging your electronics. Frederique is great to do business with - quite friendly, responsive and flexible on check-in times. All considered, it would be hard to find a better value in Paris!

A great find!

My wife and I stayed here 6-13 May '11 and found this apartment suited our needs perfectly. Owner Roger and daughter, Frédérique, (both outgoing and friendly - she speaks English quite well) met us as scheduled, providing us the information we needed about the apartment to enjoy its features. For us, the most important feature cannot be photographed -- the quiet rear-of-building location which insulated it from just about all street noise. The large window provided good ventilation and light. We never shut it during our stay! The apartment is just around the corner from Rue des Martyrs with its wonderful market shops that are so typical of Paris neighborhoods. Just an easy ten minute walk to the foot of Montmartre as well as conveniently located near metro and bus stops that will take you wherever you want to go in Paris. We found the convertible bed quite comfortable. The bathroom facilities served us well though if you are a very large person you might find them a bit tight. My wife and I appreciated the kitchen facilities which enabled us to eat a number of our meals in the quiet of our apartment after a busy day exploring the sights of Paris. Drying rack for clothes, free international calls and cable tv were all items we made full use of and helped make our stay in Paris the perfect end to our Spain/France sojourn. Would recommend to friends and would return in a heartbeat .

Most Recommended Stay

My wife and I found this place to be most comfortable and convenient place to stay during our 2 weeks of holiday in Paris. All the amenities are nearby and we were orientated by the owner's daughter's boy friend to the neighborhood on our first day. The apartment is fully equipped, especially, the electric cooker that comes with pots and pans, the washing machine that comes with hanging racks for drying, the HDTV that comes with more than 100 channels to watch, the free internet that come with free overseas telephone calls. It is well located, near to Pigalle or Anvers metro stations. Here, between Anvers and Barbes Rochechuart metro stations, are rows of discount fashion stores selling budget branded clothings and also many discount shoes stores. Around Pigalle area, there are 3 supermarche namely Monoprix, Careefour and Frankprix. You can get all that conveniently get all the pre-packed, ready to cook meal, to bring it back to the apartment for a quick meal. The owner's daughter Frederique, is a warm and hospitable person who would not hesitate to help you in any way that she can. And having found out from her that we are the first Asian to stay in her apartment, we rate her good service to be comparable to those in Asian countries. We had the most pleasurable stay here and would like to come back again in the near future.

Discover Montmartre!

Guest: gratiano77 (New York City)
Date of Stay: 02/12/11 Review Submitted: 03/09/11

This is the third time I've rented an apartment in Paris, and it was by far my best experience. The apartment is wonderfully cozy and well-appointed; everything you need is included. The location is ideal, allowing me to become better acquainted with the Montmartre neighborhood (now my favorite area of the city). Particularly noteworthy is the bathroom which, although small, has good plumbing and a reliable shower--qualities that can be hit-or-miss in buildings as old (but charming!) as this one. It should also be said that there is, in fact, a window, despite the fact that you can't see it in the pictures, and that the view is pleasant and not on the street (which means it's very quiet). Do not hesitate to book this apartment. I will never forget the two weeks I spent on Avenue Trudaine!

Authentic Paris

Guest: Ed and Paula (Fredericksburg, VA)
Date of Stay: 10/23/10 Review Submitted: 10/30/10

My wife and I were happy to have found this little studio on a quiet tree-lined street at the foot of Montmartre, convenient to the métro, restaurants and markets. It reminded me of the studio apartment I had when I was a student in Paris over 40 years ago, small and spare, but with everything you would need. This time, however, there was a TV, WiFi, and unlimited calls to the US and France which proved very useful. The owner and his daughter Frédérique are warm, charming and helpful. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who would like a short-term pied-à-terre in Paris at an affordable price. And you can be forgiven if one night everything appears in black and white and you think you saw Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg go into the room next door. We would definitely stay there again.

My partner and I have just recently stayed at this excellent studio and have been singing its praises to friends and family ever since. The location was outstanding in Montnartre and allowed us to sight see very easily with the nearby metro stations as well as just enjoy the streets around the flat very easily. There is a ubandance of excellent cafes and shops all with very reasonable prices for those people like us that are on a budget. The supermarket around the corner as well as the fresh produce market and shops allowed us to cook beautiful meals at the flat as well as enjoy delicious meals out. The studio is small as should be expected in Paris, but it had everything you would need. all of the ameneties were brand new and clean and the lovely owner even graced our visit with a beautiful bottle of French bubbly. The owner was not only over-the-top helpful (as in even helped us up with our luggage upon our arrival) but was more than happy to be at our beck and call if we had any questions or queries. She did all that she could to make sure our stay was an absolute pleasure and without her we wouldn't have had such an amazing experience. I feel so lucky that we stumbled upon this special flat in Montnartre and strongly reccomend it to anybody that wants an affordable, relaxing and romantic holiday in Paris away from the hassle of swarms of tourists.
