Pagosa Springs house description

Our vacation home is located in a very convenient neighborhood. Aspenglow is a lightly traveled road, but is plowed early on winter mornings, assuring access to the main roads which are always open. Wolf Creek Ski Area is only thirty minutes away on Hwy 160. Lakes, trailheads, and the national forest are all nearby. Walk to Lake Pagosa, just a short stroll along the greenbelt adjacent to our property. All these great recreation possibilities, and only a few miles to the heart of Pagosa Springs and all that it has to offer.

This is a two story home with the master bedroom on the ground floor. The master bedroom has a private entrance and is handicap accessible. It also has a full kitchenette, satellite TV and DVD, master bath and walk in closet. The upstairs has a roomy living room with two futons, satellite TV and DVD, a sunny reading area, an open dining room/kitchen, a nice sized bedroom with a half bath, and a full bath located off the hallway. Great for two couples with kids. The living area is large enough to accommodate extra sleepers on pads if you have a large group. (Bring extra towels/bedding if you have more than eight staying.)

          Pagosa Springs is only miles from the headwaters of the San Juan River. There are several rafting companies in town and you shouldn't miss a trip on the San Juan when you are here. Pagosa Outside is located downtown near the Hot Springs and I work there during high season as a river guide. Come see us!

          Year Purchased: 2006

          About the owner: We moved to Pagosa Springs from Austin after visiting the area in 1998 on a summer vacation. Captured by the beauty and recreational opportunities of the San Juan Mountains, and Pagosa in general we began to plan for a move. We first built a vacation home with a partner, but moved here full time within a couple of years. We both love to mountain bike, ski, fly fish and raft. This area is truly a year round paradise. We plan on staying forever.

          Why the Owner Chose Pagosa Springs:
          Pagosa is truly a four season recreation paradise. The county is approximately 70% national forest and trail heads and access points are only minutes away. Our home is situated on a large, well treed lot. This home is in an excellent location, a short distance (3 miles) off the main highway, centered between the downtown area of Pagosa Springs and the Pagosa West uptown area. This makes the home convenient to everything in less than a ten minute drive. With the beautiful Pagosa Lakes and mountain views all around it couldn't be in a prettier place. We even have a stream running next door in the greenbelt.

          The Unique Benefits at this House:
          This home is so convenient to everything. The fishing in the nearby lake is great, and just a short walk! . The location off the main traffic areas makes for a quiet place. You can enjoy going for an evening walk around the neighborhood and likely will see deer and other wildlife while you are out. The nearby PLPOA recreation building and amenities are a huge plus. There is a beautiful indoor pool with lap lanes and free play areas for the kids, and many other activities, and the passes are very reasonable for sponsored guests. There are numerous national forest trailheads nearby that offer tremendous hiking, biking and skiing opportunities including groomed crosscountry trails during the winter season.
