This cabin was beautiful, the kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the pool area was private and clean. Large fenced yard and great deck with a solid picnic table is great place to sit and watch the sunset. The property gives you the feeling of privacy and it is quiet and very peaceful. Plus it is close to beaches and hiking trails. This place was more beautiful than the pictures show and Karen was very friendly and helpful. We were very sad to leave because we had such a great time. My children loved the pool and the loft area where they had room to play. I have and will continue to highly recommend this great place!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My wife, 3 yr old son, and I spent 5 days 4 nights at this residence. Frankly, if there was a way we could take this house home with us, we would do so! We were so impressed with the decor and the homey feel. The only thing we felt was lacking was a hot tub. Frankly, with a high temp of 65 F in late July/Early August, we did not really try to use the pool. We would have used a hot tub if it was there. Karen is a very responsive property owner, and her price was very affordable. The property was very family friendly.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was our second stay at the Romantic Log Home in Brookings. We brought our parents to celebrate Father's Day. It was perfect! Close to three great beaches. Private yet close to highway access. All amenities were clean, comfortable and thoughtful. There were throws (soft warm blankets) for snuggling, books to read, and the TV was new. WiFi worked great - no problems logging on. Bring a dear friend to enjoy this excellent coastal get a way!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Spent 5 days at this wonderful place - unique, relaxing, & spacious. Fantastic base for some incredible sightseeing at nearby beaches with dramatic rock formations. The owner, Karen, really cares that you have a nice experience - a very kind & friendly person. There are stereo, wi-fi and big screen amenities, but are not really necessary in this peaceful setting where one can find great contentment with a book and beautiful sunset from the deck. Highly recommended - we'll be back! Thank you, Karen!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It's not on the beach, but this cabin getaway is a lovely option to all the beach homes that you'd pay extra for but don't get the same quaintness and quality. Very clean, big yard for our dogs, sweetly appointed and comfortable. It was a wonderful respite after spending the day at the beach, to come back to the fresh crisp air of the forest. Wonderful!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The place was beautiful, everything that was listed. There was five of us and it was so comfortable for all of us. We want to make this place a yearly event with us all. The owner was wonderful and so friendly. To describe this place...was like going to our second home. Would I recommend this place...Yes. Karen thank you much for sharing your place and we all loved how it was decorated and how homey it is. One of us will be calling to book next year for sure.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

...better than advertised! Beautiful, clean, quiet log home was a base for me, my wife, our 18 year old daughter and our 15 mo. old German Shepherd during mid-August. Very good location for morning, afternoon or complete day trips to the nearby beaches, the Chetko and Pistol rivers and the towns of Brookings, Gold Beach, or even Port Orford. We will be back for a longer stayRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just got back from our vacation in Brookings, and we feel so fortunate to have stayed in this beautiful log home! We have two daughters (ages 10 and 12), and they absolutely LOVED the loft. They each staked out their own special reading nooks and whiled away quite a bit of time up there! To be honest, I felt a bit envious! We had lots of cozy spots to curl up on couches downstairs, though, so no complaints. :) This house made the perfect home base to explore the local beaches (our favorite was Lone Ranch beach) and various sights in the area. The beach was literally minutes away in the car, and after spending the day out at the beach, it was wonderful to come back to this home and relax. The kids enjoyed swimming in the pool on the two full days that we were there. The home was well stocked with all the amenities, and it was lovely to be completely disconnected: no TV, no Internet, and no phone. We read, we played games, and we enjoyed watching a doe stroll through the yard and up past the house with her fawn! Karen (the owner) was great, answered my e-mail questions quickly and thoroughly, and she was incredibly helpful. This is definitely a place that we would love to come back and visit again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This cabin was so cozy and decorated so beautifully! Karen really paid attention to details from the interior decorations to providing the smallest conveniences (sope, shower caps, dish soap, laundry soap, condiments in the refrigerator, etc). It was very peaceful sitting on the beautiful deck looking out to the ocean at the end of the day. The beaches were close by and wonderful! My beagles relished in the long walks (they ate crabs, sniffed barnacles, and sat for a long time fascinated by the seals playing in the ocean!). Leaving to return to Reno was difficult - my dogs seem depressed and long for the coast! I would recommend this beautiful cabin to anyone who wants to get away from the hectic pace of their work and life. Just be careful - you won't want to leave! :) Claudia Reno, NevadaRecommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow, this beautiful home was more than I ever expected. It is private (not too close to neighbors), beautifully furnished, thoughtfully stocked and Karen is very easy to talk to, easy to work with. I felt she really went out of her way to make it possible for me to stay, and I really appreciated that. It was one of the most peaceful, relaxing weeks I've ever had on vacation. Can't recommend it highly enough, am recommending it to a number of friends and I'll look forward to visiting in different seasons to enjoy the nature and the view. Thank you so much Karen!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We travelled from England and spent two glorious weeks at this superb log home this summer. A charming home, the owner has paid great attention to detail to ensure our stay was as relaxing and comfortable as possible. It is a great place in which to relax and unwind after spending our days discovering this wild and beautiful area of the S. Oregon coast. There is easy access via the 101 to its stunning coastline, forested rivers and State Parks. The log home is spacious and has all modern amenities as well as some nice touches, such as the quaint tea room which overlooks the pool. Eating supper on the deck watching the sun set over the Pacific will be one of our abiding memories. We have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this vacation home as an excellent base from which to explore or simply relax in its peaceful wooded surroundings away from the trappings of our high tech world.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Lovely home! A terrific last minute getaway and glad we did. Only the two of us this time. Just wish we'd had more time to spend there. Owner is so nice. Peaceful, cozy, clean place to relax at a very decent price. Not so far to the beach and town either. Will definitely be back. Be aware no TV! But very nice to be away from that stuff anyway. Listen to music, enjoy a cup of tea, read a book... ah.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 14/14
