My girlfriend and I booked a weekend stay over Thanksgiving at the Greenwood lake cabin and had a wonderful experience. The off-grid cabin was a perfect setup for this remote location. The snow shoeing around the area was great and bonfires at night were a lot of fun. Our dog Summit had an even better time off his leash running through the deep snow. Being off-grid with potable water, propane lights/heat, and no electricity was a refreshing experience compared to our busy city lives. Moose tracks were found one morning in front of the cabin and we followed them straight down the driveway where our jeep was parked. The moose apparently thought our jeep was a salt block and licked all of the road salt off of our doors and windows. Pretty funny experience, one of many we enjoyed at the Greenwood Cabin.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We spent the long Labor Day weekend with our dogs at this cabin on Greenwood Lake. The surroundings were peaceful, quiet, and stunningly beautiful and the cabin accommodations were clean and very comfortable. The dogs were in heaven! They hung out on the front deck all day long and we took long walks down the winding forest roads everyday. This winter we can't wait to return. The dogs will love running through the snow on the frozen lake! It's hard not to dream about future trips to Greenwood Lake!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: A native of Canada and an avid fisherman/hunter, we both appreciate the natural, unspoiled beauty of the Gunflint area. A lack of electricity means no gadgets here, and allows us to spend our time together, playing games, fishing, boating and exploring. A few days on Greenwood Lake is like medicine for us!
