Your own secluded beach awaits on the lush East end of Moloka'i.
Here, on the most Hawaiian island, the stress and worries of the modern world seem to wash away with each new tide.
Here is Hawai'i as it once was. Peaceful, relaxed and beautiful. The Hawai'i of 50 years ago.
Come! Let the magic of the warm Pacific and this wonderful island soothe your soul.
Come! Enjoy the serenity of Kainalu.
Our vacation home is situated right at the water's edge and has its own secluded beach. The 2 bedroom, one bath designs provide panoramic vistas of the islands of Maui, Lana'i and Kaho'olawe. Perfect vantage points for whale watching from December through April.
The Pauwalu house is at beach level and is probably the better choice for families with small children or those with special access needs. Sleeps four comfortably with queen bed in the master bedroom and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom.
Safe swimming and snorkeling can be enjoyed year-round here or at other locations within a mile of the cottages.

This is a perfect hideaway on a small, picturesque, secluded beach with breathtaking views of the sea and Maui in the distance. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We woke up every day to the sound of the waves and sat on the lanai to watch the sunrise over the water. We got a real taste of the Hawaii of the past and we can't wait to return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

This is my fantasy Hawaiian vacation -- no tourists, no crowds, a beautiful beach all to yourself and a charming little home with no neighbors within sight. The porch is a fantastic spot to have a little romantic dinner overlooking the ocean and there's a little store/restaurant a few blocks away. This is in the tropical section of the island, where all the gorgeous greenery is. It's a peaceful, private and soulful home away from home. I'll be back.Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

Pauwalu Cottage is the place to stay if you are looking for a convenient, yet romantic and secluded, private dwelling on Molokai's lush east side. The listing description was accurate regarding the location. The driving time from the airport to Kuanakakai, and on to Pauwalu was exactly right and the directions easy to follow. The listing photos accurately reflected the cottage's appearance and amenities, but the cottage is even more lovely in person. The property was clean and well-maintained. The rattan furniture in the living room and the beds in both bedrooms are covered in tropical prints, which are attractive and in good condition. The walls feature Hawaiian posters, photos, and artwork that is both tasteful and of cultural and historic interest. The floor in the open-plan kitchen/living room is hardwood and in good condition, and the other floors are either bamboo or a faux wood, which is also pleasant visually and for the feet. Everything works! Hot water, plumbing, washer and dryer, even the garbage disposal. How nice not to have any hassles along those lines. There is plenty of closet and drawer space in both bedrooms. For a couple it's great to be able to spread out suitcases, clothes, laundry, etc. For a family, there would easily be room for two children. Plenty of windows and also good ceiling fans. The cottage always smelled and felt fresh, and we were never too hot. The deck has a great view of Maui and Lanai. Maybe just a little pruning of one tree would help that even more. The garden is simple and pretty, and the beach just the right size. And to have one's own ancient fish pond to play in every day, wow! Lovely for adults and, I'm sure for kids. Excellent privacy, too. In the two weeks, I think we saw a total of five people, and those very briefly. It's a great romantic spot! We didn't take part in a lot of activities, but we enjoyed very much the Friday night music at Hotel Molokai. We would strongly recommend that experience for everyone!! We spent most of our time at beaches between the 16 mile post and the 22 mile post - beautiful, almost no people, and great for painting! The owners were extremely helpful in answering all questions and concerns, before, during, and even after, our stay. That was, and is, greatly-appreciated, and in contrast to other private cottages where we have stayed. We are absolutely delighted with our vacation at Pauwalu, and would definitely recommend it to friends and relatives!!Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

I recently spent time at the Pauwalu Beachfront Cottage with my husband and two smaller children. What an amazing spot. The east end of Molokai is like going back in time. Time stands still when you are at this cottage. It has the most amazing views AND your very own private beach/fishpond. The kids spent oodles of time swimming, snorkeling, fishing, shell hunting, and catching sand crabs. The views and the sound of the ocean were amazingly soothing and rejuvenating. We can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

The property was as depicted; photos accurate; property very clean. This is an ideal spot for family with young children as the fish pond in front of the property on the sand beach is very protected. Although located close to the road, it is not well traveled and was not an issue; it is stil very private as the nearest neighbors are some distance and can not be seen. The views across the Pailolo channel to Maui and Lanai ae enchanting.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.
