Our Tuscan Dream Come True
Our Tuscan Dream Come True

We have just returned home to Florida after two of the most wonderful weeks of our lives. Podere Le Caggia was truly our dream of Tuscany come true. The property is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views, peaceful solitude and lovely and very comfortable accommodations. The actual property and amenities are even better and more beautiful than the descriptions offered on the websites. We were 4 couples travelling on vacation together, and prior to our arrival at Le Caggia we were joking with each other about how we would choose which bedroom each couple would stay in, hoping that each room would be “equitable”. No issues there. Each of the bedrooms had its own unique charm and style. We were all very pleased and very comfortable with each of our accommodations. The main house is beautiful with a fantastic, fully equipped kitchen and spacious dining and living rooms. We did lots of our own cooking at home and it was pure joy. There were also very good restaurants nearby as well for those evenings after a day of sightseeing. My husband was thrilled that there was a fireplace in the main house and on a few chilly evenings we enjoyed dinner by a romantic and illuminating fire. The location is ideal for day trips all around Tuscany, about 10 miles to Siena and a little over an hour drive to Florence and all the magnificent hilltop towns in between. The winding roads can be a bit challenging at first but after a day or two you’ll be an expert. Jacopo and Fabio went above and beyond as our hosts. Their help and advice was invaluable. Be sure to take all of their suggestions and recommendations, you will be very happy that you did. Le Caggia is remote and very beautiful. It is truly Tuscan living at its finest. A car and a GPS are essential for your stay here. We named our GPS “Nina” and she never steered us wrong. Without her we would have been lost, literally, but with her we were independent and navigated like residents (well almost). We highly recommend Podere Le Caggia to anyone and everyone that wants to experience Tuscany, for us it was even better than we had imagined. Our stay at Podere Le Caggia was truly a dream come true.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The villa was absolutely perfect. It had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, was clean, comfortable and extremely well thought through. Its size was great for our group, we never felt crowded. The kitchen was really well equipped and as I am a keen cook this was much appreciated. The pool and the grounds around were idyllic. The views over the surrounding countryside were stunning and the gentle breeze from the valley was always a refreshing pleasure. Fun outdoor activities for kids: pool, bowls and ping-pong. Jacopo and Fabio were always very helpful in recommending trips and things to do or in answering questions and they did their best to make our holiday a memorable one. They revealed themselves to be wonderful chefs having prepared for us a special Tuscan dinner, absolutely delicious!! Villa Le Caggia is the perfect starting point for tours, for visiting all the historic towns and for countryside walks. This is definitely the place to get away from it all and relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the Villa to those who really want to enjoy Tuscany. We couldn't have been more satisfied. A big thank you to Jacopo and Fabio for their help and hospitality.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our recent stay at Le Caggia with our party of 13 (two families with 9 kids) was the highlight of our two weeks in Italy! The villa was lovely - remodeled to fit perfectly in this country-side setting. The property was secluded, yet centrally located to all the sites we wanted to visit in day trips. The kids could run around, enjoy the ping-pong table and the property and just have a ball! We often ate dinner under the beautiful tree outside the villa as the April weather was amazing. The property managers, Jacopo and Fabio, were as much a part of our wonderful experience as anything because they were so warm and very accommodating and helpful. The highlight of our time at the villa for many of us was an Italian Cooking evening with Jacopo and Fabio. The kids loved making cookies and learning to make homemade pasta and my husband loved grilling Tuscan style outside in the beautiful setting. Jacopo and Fabio were always available for advice on where we should go, where we should eat, etc. We could not have asked for a better experience!Did you find this review helpful? TUSCANY AT IT'S BEST We were 5 couples traveling to Tuscana for a month, 2 weeks in the north & 2 weeks in the south. All seasoned travellers (average age 60) we had chosen 2 villas to rent so as to have a good base to explore the areas. But nothing in all our collective experiences prepared us for Podere le Caggia; the photos & description on web do not do it justice! In fact, as good as the 1st villa in the north of Tuscana was, it was not in any way the equal of Podere le Caggia; we would have been disappointed with it had we gone there after the Podere. The most incredible aspects of Podere le Caggia are the people, Elisabetta , Jacopo and Fabio (property managers). They are the perfect ambassadors for both Italy & Tuscana. From the moment you arrive you are treated like an honored guest. If for any reason you need help, they will try their best to help you. If you have never experienced Tuscany or Italy before, START HERE. The accommodations are wonderful, all decorated in Tuscan style. The property is vast & breathtaking; the pool is “Saline” not “Chlorine”; each section of the villa has its bedrooms, kitchen, lounging area & washrooms. The Villa has a wonderful kitchen, & a dining room for up to 14 people, a family area with TV and sound system, DSL hook-up & its own bathroom; & tables/chairs outdoors for 12. The sunsets are wonderful, and Siena is only 15 kms (10 miles) away from the Podere. As a base of operations, you can easily visit all of southern/nothern Tuscany, Florence, the Chianti Hill Towns, etc.,by train or by car; even Cinque Terre by train. As for the food/wine, restaurants in Tuscana are wonderful & the great Italian wines inexpensive. But for the 5 couples, the greatest experience was our "Tuscan Cooking Evening" (7 of us are amateur cooks). Elisabetta, Jacopo, Fabio & his friend Margaret prepared a typical Tuscan meal “with” us! Yes, we helped chop, mix, & learn how to cook a Tuscan Feast. When all was ready, the 14 of us all sat down together at the large dining table and had a banquet fit for a king. The food was accompanied by wonderful Tuscan wines that the 5 couples had bought for the dinner. The experience ranks among the best of our travels. After all, cuisine is as as much a part of culture as is architecture, art, music & so forth; not to mention making new/good friends! Podere le Caggia is an experience that we highly recommend for anyone wishing to truly experience Tuscan/Italian culture.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
