My family and I stayed here the week of April 1. We fell in love with the loft, with the neighborhood, with the location! Just a few steps out the front door and we were in the heart of King Street. The building is very safe with a passcode to open the front door. Two elevators take you to upper floors. The building has a baggage cart and shopping cart for use and that helped us get our bags from cars to loft in only two trips! The parking garage is adjacent to the building. We thought that it would be a few hundred feet down the road, but it's literally right there! The garage cost $16 a day, but we had budgeted for that. Plus, most garages cost about the same and if the price was higher, it was totally worth it being that close to the loft. The loft itself is spacious and very comfortable. We brought air mattresses and that worked out well as there was a problem with the sofa bed. When we folded down the bed, there was a large stain on the mattress. However, a quick email to Matthew, the rental agent, and it was taken care of with a new mattress put in that day!!! Awesome customer service Matthew! We decided to eat in a couple meals and were very happy with the spacious kitchen, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. One item of note - and something the owner/agent might want to consider - there are bar stools for dining at the counter. However, not all of us could or wanted to sit on a bar stool. There were five of us so we preferred to sit at the dining table. But we found only two chairs! I suggest renters bring folding chairs or the owner/agent provide some for use. We're pretty laid back, however, so we didn't mind sitting in the comfy armchair/recliner and on the couch while we ate. The loft has beautiful ceiling fans and it was lovely sleeping at night. The walk-in closet doubled as a changing room for us (all women) when both bathrooms were in use. We loved that it had two full bathrooms! As in a previous review, we did have noisy upstairs neighbors. I don't know if they're working on that loft and doing renovations or something similar. But there was a considerable amount of noise in the evenings. All in all, we had a great experience, loved the loft, loved the location and parking, and would not hesitate to rent here again. Please don't take my few negative comments to indicate any displeasure, merely our observations/suggestions. The rental was great!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We were four women on an annual getaway weekend. The location was extremely convenient to shopping, sight seeing, and dining. Condo was safe and well stocked with linens and kitchen equipment. There is no view from windows as the building is next to another building. This is not an issue because during the day there is so much to see and do. We liked 82 Queen (within walking distance) for dinner. Highly recommend this property, safe and convenient.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The condo was almost perfect-terrific location, spotless, well equipped with staples such as toilet paper, detergent, etc-only complaint was the heavy feet upstairs. If you are a light sleeper, be forewarned...but the problem could have only been for the week we were there-possibly another vrbo rental. I guess we will never know.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This unit is in perfect condition, very clean and very comfortable. The location is a one minute walk from King Street and is centrally located along the King Street shopping corridor. I really could not have asked for a better unit. It was everything that my wife and I and our two adults daughters could have wanted. Everyone was thrilled with the unit. Communication with the owner was prompt and courteous. We would love to stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This location was clean, simple place to stay in Charleston... and central to a lot of activities! You will really not be indoors very much while in Charleston. The apartment is right in the middle of all the King St. shopping, a short to moderate walk to the Market and a quick, easy bike taxi to the great restaurants in the East Bay area. I stayed here with some girlfriends for a bachelorette weekend and I was so glad to have opted for this apartment rather than cram the four of us into a "suite" or hotel room with one bathroom. With it also being a cheaper pricetag than a downtown hotel, it was a no-brainer. Having 2 bathrooms with a group of girls that need to primp before our outings is really so nice. Plus the option of a fridge and freezer for any snacks and refreshments you might need to keep around to make the party complete :) Would definitely stay here again... Here are some recommendations: Fleet's Landing has good shrimp and grits but isn't much on atmosphere (for it being the only place on the water in Charleston, there really isn't a great water view), Squeeze has great/ample cocktails, Hominy Grill for breakfast/brunch, Husk was just yummy (we could only get in there for lunch...it is that busy all the time).Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this location with another couple for a long weekend get away. We were very pleased with how clean and nice the flat was. Much better than staying in a hotel. The rate was very reasonable and the location was perfect, we were right in the middle of everything. We will definitely be staying here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have been to Charleston several times, including getting married here, but usually stay in hotels or a bed & breakfast. Bringing our teenage daughters this time, we decided on more of a condo type lodging. This place met all of our expectations! It's amenties & decor were really nice, the location was awesome, & I always felt safe. I wasn't looking forward to using a parking garage, but it ended up not being a problem, it's so close to the entrance. We walked everywhere, except when we went to Folly Beach. Even before we arrived, dealing with the reservation was super easy, Matt always got back to me quickly to answer any questions I had. Would recommend staying here to anyone, and I know where we would stay when back in Charleston!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This property is very clean. Simply decorated, it has beautiful hardwood floors and an updated kitchen with granite counters, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. Extras such as dishwashing detergent, sponges, coffee filters and sweeteners were provided. Tall ceilings give a lofty feel. Master Queen B/R is comfortable and the unit is very quiet. Note the condo has no view, but the location is worth it. The 2nd bedroom (2 twins) sits 3 steps up and is open to the living area, separated by a half wall and a few free standing shutters. This was perfect for our teen girls - plus they had their own bath. The condo is also located on a second floor, but there are 2 elevators. The disabled should know there are a few steps to get into the condo. The location is ideally situated for walking to the battery, parks, historic market, and an abundance of shops and restaurants. The manager of the property was responsive to my inquiries and quick to confirm the rental after receiving my deposit, and lock box instructions upon receipt of final payment. Parking garage is very close and is $16 a day. The VRBO listing was accurate. Bring groceries if you like, there is plenty of room in the full size fridge. There was no bedside clock in the master BR, so bring one if you tend to wake up wondering what time it is. Unless requested, there is no maid service. We were given 6 towels, 4 wash cloths and hand towels for 3 nights. Stacked washer and dryer available in closet next to Master if needed. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this unit and will rent it again in the future. My only negative observation is that the lobby smells strongly of pet odor. This may be offensive to some. However, the good news is the condo does not have any odor, and as mentioned above is very clean and well kept. I recommend Bull Market for a good breakfast or needed provisions for the pantry or fridge. It is located near King and Queen streets about 4 blocks away. Many, many dining options to choose from, but we love FIG, Coast Bar and Grill and Fulton Five. A relatively new restaurant, Leaf, is directly across the street from the condo, slighlty off King. Leaf had ample outdoor seating, a good vibe and jazz playing. We didn't get to it, and I regretted it. Next time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I was in Charleston with my son, his wife, and their two sons (ages 8 and 7) for just 2 nights. Primarily we wanted the boys to see Patriot's Point, Ft Sumter, and Ft Moultrie. But, we also managed to enjoy walking downtown and dining at two restaurants: Pearlz Oyster Bar and Fern (literally across the street from this condo). The pictures and description were accurate -- very nice place. Clean, quiet, and furnished with everything we needed. The bedroom set-up was fine for us -- actually handy that the boys had twin beds while I slept on the sofa with essentially a room divider between their room and the living room -- the sleeping area is also elevated a couple of steps. Master bedroom and bath is very private. Parking can be a problem in downtown Charleston, but this place is essentially next door to a garage--very handy! The building this unit is in is also very nice with multiple elevators and a bellman's cart and grocery cart to help get things upstairs. I would recommend this condo and be willing to stay there again. The owner was very busy and needed a few days to respond to our inquiry, but seemed like a nice guy, so don't give up if his response takes a couple of days.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Lovely condo, great location. Parked our car and walked everywhere for three days. Great food within walking distance. The condo has everything you need. The only negative is that the second "bedroom" is not really a bedroom, more of an alcove. There isn't a door you can shut- so you couldn't put children in there to sleep while everyone else stayed up. Otherwise, it is the perfect place. Charleston is beautiful and my daughter, granddaughter and I had a fabulous time.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

No complaints about this perfect place! Excellent location for exploring the historic and "happening" parts of Charleston. You can walk anywhere from this base, and then come back and collapse in the living area (or the beds, which are very comfortable). Very clean (and I am fussy). Very quiet - no street noise at all, and only occasional sounds remind you that others live in the condo building. We didn't use the kitchen except for breakfast but it appeared to have everything one would need. (except too few stools to pull up to the counter --only one). Great water pressure in the showers! I have stayed in many vrbo sites and this is one of the best.....Hint - the parking is in a city garage a few steps away, which was fine except you must have cash to get out, no cards accepted.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were pleasantly surprised that the condo was even nicer than pictured. It was in a very quiet residential building and the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and nicely appointed. I highly recommend it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed at this condo for three days during the Christmas holidays. I traveled with my wife and three daughters - ages 20,17,15. We enjoyed our stay and the property was as advertised. I thought it actually looked better than the pictures. Everything was very clean (priority number one). The furniture and amenities (tvs, appliances, etc) looked almost new. It was very spacious and there was plenty of space for my family. The location was perfect for walking around the touristy areas of Charleston - never used my car for the three days I was there. The location also seemed very safe - a must for all my girls - and the entrance was very well lit at night (mainly due to the shop next door). The windows in this condo do not have much of a view. You will see the adjacent building's windows about 15 feet away, thus the blinds stay closed all of the time. This was not an issue for me but might be for others. Also, the bedroom with the twin beds only has a half wall to separate it from the living room area. Once again this was not a problem for us but may be a privacy issue for some. I was pleased with our stay and would stay there again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I stayed in this condo the weekend of Nov.11, 2011, for a girls get together. It was the perfect location for shopping, dining and sight seeing. Other than our trip to one of the plantations, and of course the fabulous outlet mall, we never needed a car. The price was very reasonable, and I was a bit worried that it might not be as nice as the pictures. Nothing to worry about! It was very well appointed and surprisingly spacious. I would absolutely stay there again, and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay while exploring historic Charleston.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The pictures in this vrbo ad do not do this flat justice. The condo was nicely furnished, and yet retained a feeling of modesty and comfort; by modest- I mean that it was spacious without the clutter of unnecessary items. The restoration of this property captures the charm of Charleston, and the location puts you right at the heart of King Street. The market is approximately 2 blocks away, and Waterfront is easily within walking distance. The kitchen was well-equipped for anyone who would prefer to skip the restaurant scene and enjoy the ambience of this lovely residence. I plan to return my next trip to Charleston and would highly recommend this flat to anyone who would like the comfort of home while enjoying the excitement of exploring a historical city.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
