Wonderful home. It was bigger than the pictures made it seem. Perfect place for my family to spread out. The key lock box was great since we didn't have to carry a house key around with us. A bit of a walk to the restaurants and beach though. I would certainly stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This property was excellent for five adults, constituting two couples and a single . The online pictures do not do the place justice in terms of spaciousness, attractive decor, really well-appointed kitchen and barbecue facilities, large bathrooms and large bedrooms with comfortable beds. The extras provided for our use-beachtowels and chairs-were most useful. The place is well situated within easy walking to local resources such as the grocery store, ice cream and pizza places, restaurants, rentals for surfing or snorkeling, etc. We were fortunate to have quiet neighbours in the two smaller rentals on the same property. We rented a car- almost a must at this location I would think. We would be happy to recommend this place to anyone, and would certainly encourage any other family members of ours to look at this place first. Our adult kids loved it. Bring a sweater- breezes can be cool even for Hawaii, especially after sundown.Attractions- if your vacation stay is no more than a week, don't bother with the trip to Hana. It is VERY congested, and any of the roadside pullouts are too jammed with other cars to get out and do the scenic hikes off the road that the guide books rave about. The nearby Thai restaurant has outstanding food. Pacific Whale Foundation is the best whale watching outfit. Definitely plan your snorkeling better than we did- ask for the best times to go out to avoid strong sand filled waves on the beach limiting visibility, or pay the money for a guided snorkel tour (which we didn't)- we were disappointed. The most affordable golf also has some of the best ocean views you can imagine on almost all the holes at the Waeihu Municipal Course. Hope Marie was a great resource, checked in with us frequently to see if we needed anything, helpful information.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Overall our stay was wonderful, had a little trouble with the bathroom (pocket) door, but thanks to our hostess she had the maintenance guy come over and it was taken care of it right away...on Thanksgiving! Our Hostess, Hope Marie was absolutely so wonderful and helpful, I really felt as though she would have (and did) solve any issues we may have had. Thanks again Hope...see you soon !Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We are a family of eight and found the home to be enough space to sleep everyone comfortably. The home is in a great, quiet neighborhood. We were a little concerned that the home did not have air conditioning but found the trade winds, ceiling fans and open windows at night a great alternative. The kids range from 11-16 years of age and enjoyed the home, location and Maui during their first visit to Hawaii. They enjoyed exploring the yard and the ability to walk into town and the beach. Hope was a pleasure to meet and always available to help. Definitely a place we would recommend to friends and family while planning a return trip again in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The house is absolutely beautiful inside! Tucked back in a quiet neighborhood, was our private oasis with a lovely courtyard, two porches and a back yard. I noticed that there were two other houses on the same property, but neither were rented out during our stay. There were 7 of us and we were all able to sleep there comfortably. The kitchen is very large, with a huge dining room table for large group dinners and "crazy 8" card games late in the evening. We used the BBQ and cooked often at the house. We drove to all the beaches. There is one close by, but each time we went, the tide was too high for there to be much of a "beach" to relax on. No worries though, there are plenty of beaches and wonderful sights throughout the island!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

Our stay at the Ohana house was excellent. I was born and grew up on the islands and this place reminded me of my neighborhood I grew up in...quiet, pleasant, and full of nice people. The location to the beaches, market places, and eats were perfect (walking distance to many). A beautiful park that boarders the ocean is a short relaxing walk away. Hope Marie was wonderful!!!! She made an extra effort to help us have as enjoyable, worry free, Hawaiian time stay as possible. We come to Maui frequently and plan to seek out your Ohana House on our following visits. Mahalo and much Aloha's.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We stayed here four nights and absolutely loved the home. The home was spacious and offered all the beach accessories we needed (and more). The owner/management were extremely helpful in making sure we were settled in and offered their assistance on anything. The home is two neighborhood blocks walking distance to the beach, a short walk to Starbucks, and a very short drive into the Kihei shopping area and beach parks. We will stay there again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

The inside of this house is beautiful, just like the pictures. Air circulation with the fans and windows is very nice. It was easy to keep the home at an ideal and comfortable temperature. The first night when I went to bed there was a loud party going on. We ended up closing the window in our bedroom which seemed to block out 100% of the noise. In other words, the windows are high quality. Outside curb appeal is not great, but is okay. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. You are a short walk to the beach or a nice jog into Kihei. I would definitely recommend this place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in this house for 2 weeks with 4 couples and 1 baby. The home was roomy and modern and had every kitchen item and utensil stocked that you could think of. The property was well maintained and very nicely landscaped. Our Host Hope Marie was very helpful and kind and always only a phone call away. I would definitely recommend this house. The only thing this house is missing is air conditioning. it does get quit warm in the house during the day but cools down fairly well during the night. The house is in the perfect location of Kihei, it's walking distance to everything from the beach to shopping.. I definitely would look at renting this home again. It's very reasonably priced..Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We stayed a three different place when we where in Maui this was our favorite. The place is nice and open. I enjoyed the large kitchen with the full size dinning table. It is only a couple of blocks to walk to the beach, which I did every morning. The house in front does have other rental guess who sometime you can hear. But overall it is nice and private. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Thank you.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in the Ohana Hale house for a week in January 2012 and enjoyed every minute of it. There were five adults in our party -- two couples and a single person -- and we all had privacy when we wanted it, but there was also enough space for us to come together and cook, play cards, or just sit and talk. The house was very clean when we arrived, it's nicely furnished and decorated, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Having a gas grill on the deck was great, too. The house is located in the center of Kihei so we could walk to a few different beaches, a couple of grocery stores, and many, many restaurants if we wanted to. And Kihei is a great launching point for adventures and sightseeing on the island so the house was a perfect homebase for us. We never had a chance to meet Hope, our host, but we called her with a question after we arrived and she answered her phone immediately and was a pleasure to talk with. It was comforting to know that she was just a phone call away during our visit. She even stopped by and left a friendly note on our door in the middle of the week, which was a nice touch. Two things that are worth noting because they might not be clear in the description -- 1) the house doesn't have air conditioning, which wasn't a problem for us in January because there were ceiling fans and large windows in every room so it was nice and breezy; and 2) the house has a smaller apartment attached to it and another house behind it, but we rarely saw anyone else coming and going and we didn't have any noise or privacy concerns. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all, spend some quality time with friends or family, and explore all that Maui has to offer, this is the place for you. I just hope you don't reserve it during our next trip to the island because we plan to stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just spent an extra-ordinarily great new year's week in Kihei! We were 6 adults and 1 baby and this house was absolutely perfect for us! The house is huge (enough space for at least 7 adults) and very well equipped (including beach towels and everything else you could possibly think of), there's nothing missing at all, and everything is in great shape and beautifully refurbished. Hope, the host, was kind, friendly and helpful no matter what. The location is also great. You're in walking distance to beaches, cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. We really don't have anything to complain about and I would totally recommend this house! Thanks for everything!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The house was as advertised, in great shape and large enough for all of us. We appreciated all the amenities included (linens, number of kitchen dishes/pots and pans), beach towels and beach equipment. The only negative comment would be that the plastic chairs on the lanai were dirty when we arrived and the seat covers on the metal chairs were worn out. Also the umbrella's were broken and probably should be removed (not necessary with all the foliage). Thanks to Hope for all her attention.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We do apologize to Stephani as the new seat covers were purchased for the lanai chairs prior to her party arriving though there was a mix up in staff communication about replacing the new covers at that time. Everything negative mentioned above has indeed been taken care of and the new seat covers are in place! We again apologize and glad this didn't hinder your stay with us! Please note, if you are having a problem with something at our home - just contact us - that's why we are here. Mahalo, Daniel

We stayed here for three nights when on-island for a swim meet and it was absolutely perfect! The location was great, close to the pool, grocery stores, and .7 miles from Starbucks :) The house has been remodeled with every attention to detail and it showed. A very spacious, well-utilized, organized layout with everything we needed. The kitchen was easy to work in and had tons of plates, glasses, etc (we have stayed at other places and wondered why there were only 4 of everything). The coin operated washer and dryer were conveniently located just around the back of the house. The deck was large enough to have a nice dinner outside and the breeze (ok..WIND) keep it cool enough to eat outside. We appreciated the personal touches and especially the immediate help we received from Hope whenever we had a question about something. Most importantly and SO much appreciated, we were allowed to check out late, which gave our swimmers time to shower after the meet before our flight. This allowed us to not have to have our bags packed up and out of the house at our 7am departure for the pool, and we were so thankful for that! Really, you could not find a better place to stay in Kihei! We will definitely return again the next time our travels take us to Maui!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This house was absolutely perfect!!! I'm shocked that it's not booked solid year round. It was spacious enough for the 7 of us. Loved the open floor plan. It was very well stocked including enough beach towels for everyone. The house was very clean. It's within walking distance to many amenities including the beach. The hostess (Hope) is such a wonderful person. She was so helpful and accommodating. The little gifts she left we're a nice touch. The house does not have airconditioning, but we made good use of the fans. I highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone. You won't be disappointed!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband & I stayed in this house with two other couples in early February. The house was gorgeous! Very roomy, all of the amenities you could need, and in a great location. I would suggest this house to anyone looking to stay in Maui. Kihei is a great town with plenty to do. Go in the winter when you can see (and hear!) the humpback whales. What an amazing experience!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just got back from a great 2 week vacation spent in Kihei. Wow was it great. The place is amazing. Tons of room for small children and grandparents. There is a great fenced in yard which made it easy for our 2 yr old to run around. Hope was great about adding a few little extras as well, beach toys, some food in the fridge and cabinets. It was really close to the beach and great playground down the street. The only knock I have against this place is the coin operated laundry. I think for this price there should be free laundry. Overall though it was fantastic and we will definitely go again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Our extended family had a wonderful Christmas in Kihei! The house is very comfortable and well-stocked with beach equipment. The entire property was clean and nicely maintained. The hosts were helpful and immediate in supplying a missing item. We loved being able to walk to the beach, park and store (less than a mile). Spectacular beaches were only a 10-15 minute drive away. Our stay in this home was exactly what we needed for our vacation. We were 6 young adults who wanted to be centrally located in Kihei for a wedding and found everything we needed within a 10 min walk, 3 min bike ride, or a friendly lift from a local. The house was amazing, a colonial style inside, but with brand new kitchen and bathrooms with large front and back yards and patios. Comfy furnishings as well. The rooms were spacious and also updated, all had remote controlled fans ( handy at night). A brand new large BBQ, everything you need for the beach ( I think we added a few items as well ) There is a small drive way for a car rental, and a surfboard rack on the side of the house. Hope, the agent for the rental, was very helpful and friendly, she was a great help from start to finish. Darrin, the grounds keeper, was also great for tips on surf spots, places to eat, and general things to know about the area. This rental is very well priced, you will pay a lot more for almost anything with 3,1/2 bedrooms that is centrally located. Great value, great service, great times. We would certainly stay here again for another trip. Thank you to the owner, Hope, and Darrin. -JeffRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

The personal touch by the host for your home made us feel relaxed, comfortable and trusted with your home. Cleanliness and quality of bedding, furniture and china amazed us all as well as the excellent maintenance of the property. The location of the property met all of our needs and then some, no matter where we went or what we wished to do - and it was a joy to return each and every night. I would not want to stay anywhere else other than your home if I ever have the chance to return to Maui. Leaving your home in excellent condition came easy when you are allowed to stay in such a wonderful home as yours. I thank you for accepting us into your home. I will definitely recommend your home to anyone I can. Once again, I thank you.
