What a fabulous place to stay! Mares and foals outside our window. Steve was an absolutely wonderful host. The renovations to the train station were beautifully done. Beautiful country setting with easy access to area attractions. We will be staying there on our next trip to Kentucky.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent five nights at this terrific property while touring UK with our daughter. It was a wonderful experience in every respect. The property is beautiful, clean and well-provisioned and the location is stunning, there were six mares with foals frolicking about and the country landscape is gorgeous. Our hosts, Steve and Lisa, could not have been more welcoming, helpful and hospitable and provided some excellent restaurant recommendations. It is convenient to all the Lexington attractions and the nearby town of Paris is quite charming. We highly recommend this property and hope to return soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The owners of this property have done a fantastic job renovating this old train depot and turning it into a very comfortable, nicely furnished living space. It was perfect for our family of four, as it was our first trip to Lexington, and we were eager to experience horse country up close. Just as advertised, the property is located on a horse farm amidst many other horse farms -- in the country, yet minutes away from the Kentucky Horse Park, Keeneland, and downtown Lexington. The owners were welcoming and accessible, though we never needed their assistance aside from some restaurant advice. When we return to Lexington, we will return to Steeple Hill.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I, along with my brother and his wife, stayed here Memorial weekend 2012 and had a great time. The place is very nicely done, with wonderfully thick towels and comfortable beds. Very peaceful!! The owners were great to deal with and the mares and their foals in the pasture across from the property were a big hit!!! We hope to be able to stay here again. Please disregard the 1 star my brother gave in his review as he definitely intended to put 5 stars!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It had WI-FY and TV in each of the bedrooms and Lounge area. The horses were incredibly lovely and very friendly. Had a great time and would definately recommend as a place to relax in this central sight seeing location. Unit was perfect cozy and incrediblly up to date. My husband and I stayed at this house while we celebrated our two birthdays. The house is very comfortable and the owners are very helpful. We especially enjoyed John George, the donkey, outside our bedroom window. The house is close to all the horse farms, Louisville museums, the Quilt Trails, and the Bourbon Trails. We visited wineries, distilleries, and museums. Paris is a lovely town and there are several nice local restaurants in the area.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful place to spend a vacation! I was greeted with freshly baked cookies and beautiful pink roses. The communication prior to my stay was pleasant; directions to the place and instructions for access were simple. The place itself was better than advertised, well equIpped with very comfortable beds. The area is almost indescribable; we watched mares with their foals in the pasture right outside our door. We made friends with a horse and a donkey in an area next to the depot. We drove all over the countryside while following the Quilt Trail. Lexington and Frankfort are within easy driving distance. Just driving down the roads is wonderful. The owners were accessible without being intrusive. We had a minor problem, not related to the house itself, and we received prompt response and help. They even followed up the next day to make sure all was well. I cannot recommend the area and this specific property highly enough. If you want a beautiful, peaceful area and a comfortable place to stay, this is the place for you.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was our second stay at this beautiful renovated train station. Spring is the perfect time to visit, we could watch the mares and foals across the drive, flowers were in bloom. The owner was very gracious and available. He gave great recommendations for dining and sightseeing. The apartment is clean, well equipped and spacious. It is a very comfortable and convenient place to stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at Steve and Lisa's for a week in June. It was exactly what we were looking for! It is centrally located so trips to the Horse Park, Keeneland and all the private farms tours are just a quick car ride away. The house is perfectly appointed and the proximity to the foals and mares kept our horse-loving daughters busy every minute we were 'home'. From the fresh cookies upon our arrival to the fireflies in the field at night...we could not ask for a better Kentucky get away. We will definitely be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My wife and I took a long holiday weekend trip to the Lexington area and stayed at this great, relaxing place. We have a new five-month-old baby and it is was nice to have all the amenities of home available to us while being away on vacation. It allowed us to have a seperate room for our baby, a refrigerator for her baby food and plenty of room for us to relax. The trim work around the newly refinished interior was beautiful. There is no doubt that the conveniences packaged in this rental coupled with the nice finish work made this stay far better then any simple hotel or suite. The owners of the property checked in with us and were very helpful even going through the challenges of dealing with Dish Network while we were out because the satellite was not working properly upon our arrival. We'd recommend anyone in our family stay at this rental if they come down to Lexington to visit.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay here was far superior to any hotel. My husband and I, along with our 18 month old son, traveled from Wisconsin for 4 nights in May 2011. The building is divided into a couple units, but only one is currently refurbished so we had the entire property to ourselves!! The home is exceptionally well maintained, nice decor, great amenities and very clean. The owners live next door and stopped by a few times to say 'hi and offer recommendations for dinner. The location is perfect- situated on a country road, with the horses in view from the breakfast nook and living room windows. Lexington is 10 minutes down the road and the home was central to our numerous day trips. Besides the quality of the property and location, we chose this place because we were traveling with a high energy toddler and needed a place to match - it doesn't disappoint! Wide open spaces in the house (not a lot of clutter), wide open spaces outside, mud puddles, horses, etc. Special thanks to Steve for letting our son sit on Wick for his first horseback "ride".Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My fiance and I stayed a week at this wonderful location. Every ammenity was included. The chocolate chip cookies that were awaiting our arrival was a wonderful touch. We so enjoyoed sitting out on the side yard, enjoying a glass of wine, and watching the mares and foals. We are coming back in April and can't wait! I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The facility was ultra clean and Steve and Lisa were very helpful. The location is close to the "horse world" and yet away from all the hustle and bustle. We loved our stay so much and the beautiful Bluegrass area that we are giving serious consideration to moving there. It was the best vacation we have ever had, and seriously, we did not want to return to NJ>Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful location and top-notch accommodations. Loved waking up and walking a few feet outside to pet horses and enjoy the Kentucky landscape. Enjoyed staying here more than a boring hotel - plus, got the best sleep I've had in months. Really great experience with the owners and arranging our stay. A++++ Thanks again - We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed five nights at the train station. It has been beautifully renovated, furnished and equipped and it is very spacious. We were surrounded by pastures, a beautiful contrast to the city but everything Lexington has to offer is close. Every drive would take us through the countryside past the spectacular horse farms. The owner was gracious, helpful and available, just across the pasture. They have done a supurb job renovating and operating their train station farmhouse.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
